Description
- Hintergrund der Erfindung
- 1. Bereich der Erfindung
- Diese Erfindung bezieht sich auf Stents einer verbesserten Konfiguration.
- 2. Kurze Beschreibung des Stands der Technik
- Stents sind radial expandierbare Endoprothesen, die üblicherweise intravaskuläre Implantate darstellen, die geeignet sind, durch Hohlräume hindurch implantiert und radial erweitert zu werden, nachdem sie perkutan eingeführt worden sind. Sie sind auch in Harnwege und Führungskanäle implantiert worden. Sie werden verwendet, um Körpergefäße zu verstärken und um eine erneute Verengung nach der Angioplastie im Gefäßsystem zu verhindern. Sie können selbstexpandierend sein oder durch einen inwendigen radialen Druck expandiert werden, wenn sie beispielsweise auf einem Ballon montiert worden sind.
- Früher sind Stents im Allgemeinen rohrförmig, aber in vielen Konfigurationen zusammengesetzt und aus vielen Materialien, einschließlich Metallen und Kunststoffen, hergestellt worden. Gebräuchliche Metalle, wie zum Beispiel rostfreier Stahl, sind eingesetzt worden, so wie formspeichernde Metalle, wie beispielsweise Nitinol und Ähnliches. Stents sind auch aus biologisch abbaubaren plastischen Materialien angefertigt worden. Derartige Stents sind aus Draht, Hülsenmaterial und so weiter geformt worden.

US 5,669,932 legt einen Stent offen, der drei Reihen (oder Ringe) von herkömmlichen Zellen und drei Reihen (oder Ringe) von besonderen expandierbaren Zellen besitzt. Das Ausmaß des Umfangs der besonderen Zellen ist viel größer als das Ausmaß des Umfangs der herkömmlichen Zellen. - Die technische Aufgabenstellung der Erfindung besteht darin, einen verbesserten Stent zu liefern, der der Länge nach flexibel und expandierbar ist.
- Das Problem wird durch einen Stent gemäß Anspruch 1 gelöst.

- Eine bevorzugte Ausführungsform eines im Wesentlichen zylindrischen Stents
10 gemäß dieser Erfindung ist in den1 –4 bildlich dargestellt. Sie umfasst, wie in den2 und4 dargestellt, ein Metallrohr, zum Beispiel vorzugsweise aus Nitinol oder rostfreiem Stahl, das zu der in der ebenen Draufsicht der1 dargestellten Konfiguration geätzt oder vorzugsweise lasergeschnitten worden ist. Ein vergrößertes Element der1 ist in3 dargestellt. Die Konfiguration wird aus einer Reihe von Elementen in Form von gekrümmten Expansionszellen gebildet, die generell unter12 (siehe das zur Verdeutlichung dunkel gefärbte Beispiel in3 ) gezeigt werden und relativ breite Endteile14 besitzen, die durch relativ schmale Mittelteile16 verbunden sind. Wie in1 dargestellt, sind die Zellen12 in Bezug auf die Längsachse des Stents10 durchgehend der Länge nach und in im Wesentlichen parallelen Reihen angeordnet. Eine Vielzahl von gestreckten Stützelementen18 , die sich der Länge nach erstrecken, sind enthalten, wobei ein jedes Stützelement zwischen benachbarten Reihen der Zellen12 angeordnet ist. Außerdem sind eine Vielzahl von sich ringsum erstreckenden Stützelementen19 , vorzugsweise im Wesentlichen dazu bestimmt, die Glieder18 zu stützen, ebenfalls zwischen den Reihen der Zellen12 angeordnet, um sich mit Teilen der Stützelemente18 zu kreuzen und sie mit den schmalen Mittelteilen16 der Zellen12 zu verbinden. Wie in1a ersichtlich, können die Zellen12 auch in einer versetzten Gruppierung angeordnet sein. Die1b und1c veranschaulichen unterschiedliche Gestaltungen und Verbindungen für die Zellen12 . - Wenn, wie in
4 dargestellt, der Stent auf einem Ballon20 expandiert ist, übernehmen die Zellen12 eine neue Konfiguration, wie dargestellt, wobei die Elemente, die den Stent bilden, durch die gleichen Ziffern bezeichnet werden, wie sie in1 und3 verwendet werden. Wiederum ist eine Zelle zur Verdeutlichung dunkel gefärbt. - Nunmehr wird unter Bezugnahme auf die
5 –7 eine andere Ausführungsform des Stents der Erfindung, allgemein unter22 gekennzeichnet, dargestellt. Wie in den5 und6 ersichtlich, besitzen die Expansionszellen24 in dieser Ausführungsform, am besten im Detail in der6 ersichtlich und durch den dunkel gefärbten Teil bezeichnet, relativ breite Endteile26 , die am besten in6 ersichtlich sind, und schmale Mittelteile28 , und sie sind durchgehend in Längsreihen angeordnet, wie es mit Bezug auf die erste Ausführungsform beschrieben wurde. Benachbarte Endteile26 sind miteinander durch Paare von längslaufenden Stützelementabschnitten30 verbunden, die gekrümmte Endteile32 aufweisen. Sich ringsum erstreckende Abschnitte34 erstrecken sich zwischen Reihen der Zellen24 , um die schmalen Mittelteile28 miteinander zu verbinden. - Nach der radialen Expansion des Stents, wie zum Beispiel auf einem Ballon
20 , ändert sich seine Konfiguration durch die Verformungskraft in den durch die Pfeile in6 dargestellten Richtungen zu der in7 dargestellten Konfiguration. Die in7 bezeichneten Elemente werden durch die gleichen Ziffern bestimmt, mit denen die gleichen Elemente in den5 und6 gekennzeichnet sind. - Die
20 und21 stellen eine Konfiguration dar, die der Konfiguration der5 –7 einigermaßen ähnlich ist. - Nunmehr wird unter Bezugnahme auf die
8 –10 noch eine andere Ausführungsform des Stents der Erfindung dargestellt und allgemein unter40 gekennzeichnet. Wie in den8 und9 ersichtlich, besitzen die Expansionszellen42 (Beispiel zur Verdeutlichung dunkel gefärbt) wiederum relativ breite Endteile44 und schmale Mittelteile46 . Die Endteile umfassen Schlaufenteile48 , die sich nach innen erstrecken. Die Zellen42 sind, wie in den vorangehenden Ausführungsformen, durchgehend in Längsreihen angeordnet. Benachbarte Endteile44 sind miteinander durch Paare von längslaufenden Stützelementabschnitten50 verbunden, die gekrümmte Endteile52 aufweisen. Sich ringsum erstreckende Abschnitte54 erstrecken sich zwischen Reihen der Zellen42 , um die schmalen Mittelteile46 der Zellen miteinander zu verbinden.8a stellt eine Änderung in der Form der Zellen42 dar. - Nach der radialen Expansion des Stents auf einem Ballon
20 ändert sich die Konfiguration zu der in10 dargestellten Konfiguration. Die Pfeile zeigen die Richtung der Verformungskraft nach der Expansion. - Nunmehr wird unter Bezugnahme auf die
11 und12 noch eine andere Ausführungsform eines Stents60 dargestellt. Wie in den11 und12 dargestellt, besitzen die Expansionszellen62 (Beispiel zur Verdeutlichung dunkel gefärbt) wiederum relativ breite Endteile64 , die eine leichte zu sich nach innen gerichtete Krümmung65 und schmale Mittelteile66 besitzen. Die Zellen62 sind, wie in den vorangehenden Ausführungsformen, durchgehend in Längsreihen angeordnet. Benachbarte Endteile64 sind miteinander durch Paare von längslaufenden Stützelementabschnitten68 verbunden, die gekrümmte Endteile70 aufweisen. Sich ringsum erstreckende Abschnitte72 erstrecken sich zwischen Reihen der Zellen62 , um die schmalen Mittelteile66 der Zellen miteinander zu verbinden. - Der Hinweis auf
13 wird die den Stents dieser Erfindung innewohnende Flexibilität veranschaulichen. - Nach der radialen Expansion des Stents auf einem Ballon
20 ändert sich die Konfiguration zu der in14 dargestellten Konfiguration. - Nunmehr wird unter Bezugnahme auf die
15 und16 noch eine andere Ausführungsform eines Stents80 in einer Konfiguration dargestellt, die der Konfiguration der11 –14 recht ähnlich ist, aber mit einem sich ringsum erstreckenden zusätzlichen Strukturelement81 . Wie in der16 am besten ersichtlich, besitzen die Expansionszellen82 (Beispiele zur Verdeutlichung dunkel gefärbt) wiederum relativ breite Endteile84 , die eine leichte zu sich nach innen gerichtete Krümmung85 und schmale Mittelteile86 besitzen. Die Zellen82 sind, wie in den vorangehenden Ausführungsformen, durchgehend in Längsreihen angeordnet. Benachbarte Endteile84 sind miteinander durch Paare von längslaufenden Stützelementabschnitten88 verbunden, die gekrümmte Endteile90 aufweisen. Sich ringsum erstreckende Abschnitte92 erstrecken sich zwischen Reihen der Zellen82 , um die schmalen Mittelteile86 der Zellen miteinander zu verbinden. Sich ringsum erstreckende Abschnitte81 verbinden Paare von Stützelementabschnitten88 . - Nach der radialen Expansion des Stents auf einem Ballon
20 ändert sich die Konfiguration zu der in17 dargestellten Konfiguration. - Nunmehr wird unter Bezugnahme auf die
18 und19 noch eine andere Ausführungsform einer Stentkonfiguration100 dargestellt. Wie zuvor ist diese Konfiguration der Konfiguration der11 –12 ähnlich, mit der Ausnahme, dass die sich ringsum erstreckenden Elemente101 anders angeordnet sind, als diejenigen, die in den11 –12 als72 gekennzeichnet sind. In dieser Ausführungsform erstrecken sich die sich ringsum erstreckenden Elemente101 zwischen den benachbarten Enden der benachbarten Zellen103 (Beispiele zur Verdeutlichung dunkel gefärbt), um das Oberteil des einen Endes mit dem Unterteil des benachbarten Endes zu verbinden, und die Elemente101 besitzen in ihrer Länge eine leichte Krümmung oder Biegung105 . Die anderen Elemente sind wie in den vorangehenden Figuren alle gleich beziffert. -
22 zeigt noch eine andere Ausführungsform eines Stents, der Zellen120 umfasst, die sich ringsum erstreckende verbindende Elemente122 besitzen. Die Zellen haben gemeinsame Seiten oder Endelemente124 und sind in Gruppen angeordnet, um Bänder126 zu bilden, die miteinander durch angrenzende Zellen128 verbunden sind. - Während diese Erfindung in vielen verschiedenen Formen verkörpert sein kann, sind hierin im Detail besondere bevorzugte Ausführungsformen der Erfindung beschrieben. Diese Beschreibung ist eine Veranschaulichung der Grundsätze der Erfindung, und sie soll die Erfindung nicht auf die besonderen erläuterten Ausführungsformen beschränken.
Claims (8)
- Ein Stent in im Wesentlichen zylindrischer Gestalt, der aus einer Vielzahl von regelmäßig angeordneten geschlossenen Zellkörpern zusammengesetzt ist, die geschlossene Expansionszellen (
12 ) und eine Vielzahl von sich der Länge nach erstreckenden gestreckten Stützelementen (18 ) bereitstellen, wobei die Zellen breite Endteile (14 ) besitzen, die durch ein schmales Mittelteil (16 ) verbunden sind, und die Zellen (12 ) durchgehend mit Bezug auf die Längsachse des Stents der Länge nach in Längsreihen angeordnet sind, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass zwischen benachbarten Reihen von Zellen (12 ) eines aus der besagten Vielzahl von gestreckten Stützelementen angeordnet ist. - Der Stent nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Längsreihen im Wesentlichen parallel sind, und der Stent weiterhin umfasst: • benachbarte Längsreihen von Zellen, die durch mehr als ein gestrecktes Stützelement (
18 ) verbunden sind, und • eine Vielzahl von sich ringsum erstreckenden Verbindungselementen, die im Wesentlichen zu den Stützelementen (18 ) rechtwinklig sind und die Stützelemente (18 ) mit den schmalen Mittelteilen (28 ) der Zellen verbinden. - Der Stent nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Reihen der Zellen im Wesentlichen parallel sind, und die Zellen bezüglich des Umfangs ausgerichtet sind.
- Der Stent nach Anspruch 3, wobei die Zellen bezüglich des Umfangs versetzt sind.
- Der Stent nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Verbindungselemente als paarweise längs verbindende Elemente (
30 ,88 ), die die Enden benachbarter Zellen verbinden, und als sich ringsum erstreckende Elemente (34 ), die sich zwischen Zellen benachbarter Reihen erstrecken und die Zellen an den schmalen Teilen miteinander verbinden, bereitgestellt werden. - Der Stent nach Anspruch 5, der Elemente enthält, die sich zwischen benachbarten Zellenden erstrecken, wobei sie das Oberteil eines Zellendes und das Unterteil eines anderen Zellendes miteinander verbinden.
- Der Stent nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Abmessungen der breiten Enden weiterhin dadurch gekennzeichnet sind, dass sie im Wesentlichen einander gleich sind.
- Der Stent nach Anspruch 1, wobei die Zellen in ihrer allgemeinen Gestalt symmetrisch sind.
