Description
- Diese Erfindung betrifft ein drahtloses Spreizspektrum-Telefonsystem.
- Zugriff auf Telefonnetzwerke kann üblicherweise über einen von zwei allgemeinen Mechanismen stattfinden, welche mit „privater Zugriff" und „öffentlicher Zugriff" bezeichnet werden. Wie hierin verwendet, bedeutet „privater Zugriff" einen Zugriff mittels dedizierter Leitungen (und umfasst Geschäftstelefone bis einschließlich PBX, Centrex und Tastensysteme und Privattelefone), während „öffentlicher Zugriff" einen Zugriff mittels gemeinsamer Kommunikationskanäle bedeutet (und umfasst Mobiltelefone und Telefonzellen). Eine Verbindung zu einem öffentlichen Fernsprechnetz (PSTN, „public switched telephone network") für privaten Zugriff als auch öffentlichen Zugriff kann Kabel-, Glasfaser-, Draht- oder Radiofrequenzverbindungen nutzen oder andere Kommunikationsverfahren, welche in der Technik bekannt sind. Viele Telefonnetzwerke haben eine große Anzahl an Telefonen, welche in dem Netzwerk drahtgebunden sind und welche von festen Orten privaten Zugriff auf das Netzwerk haben.
- Ein Problem, welches im Stand der Technik aufgetreten ist, ist der Wunsch von mobilen Personen, zweckmäßigen und kostengünstigen Zugriff auf Telefonnetzwerke zu haben. Diese Personen haben im Allgemeinen eine Wahl zwischen dem Lokalisieren eines Geschäfts- oder Privattelefons mit privatem Zugriff oder einer öffentlichen Telefonzelle, welche unzweckmäßig sein können, und der Nutzung eines Mobiltelefondienstes, der teuer sein kann. Daher wäre es vorteilhaft ein relativ zweckmäßiges und kostengünstiges System bereitzustellen, welches öffentlichen Zugriff auf Telefonnetzwerke erlaubt.
- Außerdem unterliegt ein öffentlicher Zugriff auf Telefonnetzwerke einer Vielzahl von Problemen, zum Teil wegen der öffentlichen Eigenschaft des Kommunikationskanals. Solch eine Kommunikation kann Abhören und anderen Sicherheitsrisiken unterliegen und kann auch unvorhersehbarem Verlust, Rauschen, Interferenz und selbst aktiver Störung („jamming") unterliegen. Viele dieser Probleme werden durch Spreizspektrum-Funkverbindung verbessert, in der übertragene Signale über eine Bandbreite gespreizt werden, die breiter ist als die Bandbreite des Signals. Spreizspektrum-Kommunikation kann auch in Verbindung mit CDMA, FDMA, TDMA und anderen Multiplextechniken verwendet werden und kann somit in einem Vermittlungsnetz Vorteile bieten.
- Ein Verfahren öffentlichen Zugriffs auf Telefonnetzwerke ist im US Patent 4,878,238 gezeigt. Während das darin gezeigte System das Ziel öffentlichen Zugriffs auf ein Telefonnetzwerk erreichen kann, unterliegt es dem Nachteil, dass es nicht in der Lage ist, die Vorteile einer Spreizspektrum-Kommunikation zu erreichen. Außerdem besitzt das darin gezeigte System geringe oder keine Fähigkeit, Anwenderstationen von einer Basisstation zu einer anderen zu übergeben (Hand-Over), wenn Voraussetzungen dies rechtfertigen. Es wäre vorteilhaft, öffentlichen Zugriff auf das Telefonnetzwerk mit relativ kostengünstigen Anwenderstationen zu erlauben und welche dies und andere Vorteile einer Spreizspektrum-Kommunikation erreichen.
- Einige Aspekte der Technik von drahtloser Spreizspektrumkommunikation sind gezeigt in den US Patenten 5,016,255 (erteilt am 14. Mai 1991), 5,022,047 (erteilt am 4. Juni 1991), 5,402,413 und 5,455,822.
- EP-A-0 211 460 offenbart ein zellulares, digitales Funkübertragungssystem, in dem Basisstationen mit mobilen Stationen kommunizieren, welche eine Kombination von Zeitmultiplex, Codemultiplex und Frequenzmultiplex („multiphasing") verwenden.
- Ein anderer Aspekt des Zugriffproblems auf Telefonnetzwerke ist der Wunsch mobiler Personen, in der Lage zu sein, einander zu kontaktieren, beispielsweise wenn sich diese Personen nah zueinander befinden. Zugriff durch jede so einer Person auf ein Telefonnetzwerk würde für sie ermöglichen, einander zu kontaktieren, jedoch könnte dies Überbelastung in dem Telefonnetzwerk hervorrufen und könnte zu ungerechtfertigten Verzögerungen beim Herstellen solcher Kontakte führen. Daher wäre es vorteilhaft, ein relativ zweckmäßiges und kostengünstiges System bereitzustellen, welches Kontakt zwischen mehreren Anwenderstationen erlaubt, welche Zugriff (entweder privaten oder öffentlichen) auf Telefonnetzwerke haben.
- Ein Verfahren drahtlosen Kontakts zwischen einer Vielzahl von Anwenderstationen ist im US Patent 4,672,658 gezeigt. Während das darin gezeigte System das Ziel erreichen kann, ein drahtloses PBX zu betreiben, unterliegt es dem Nachteil, dass es komplexe und relativ teure Anwenderstationen erfordern kann und nicht problemlos in ein System für Zugriff auf Telefonnetzwerke integriert werden kann. Daher wäre es vorteilhaft private Vermittlungstelefonsysteme (einschließlich PBX, Centrex oder Tastensysteme) bereitzustellen, welche problemlos in ein System zum Bereitstellen von Zugriff (entweder privaten oder öffentlichen) auf ein Telefonnetzwerk mit relativ kostengünstigen Anwenderstationen integriert werden können.
- Eine andere Entwicklung in der Technik von Telefonnetzwerken ist das „intelligente Netzwerk", welches hierin verwendet wird, um ein Telefonnetzwerk zu bezeichnen, in dem verbesserte Telefonnetzwerkdienste mittels eines unabhängigen Prozessors anstatt mittels eines lokalen Switches oder eines lokalen Vermittlungsprozessors durchgeführt werden. In einem intelligenten Netzwerk kann ein Telefonanrufer direkt mit dem unabhängigen Prozessor kommunizieren, um verbesserte Telefonnetzwerkmerkmale zu steuern. Beispiele dieser verbesserten Merkmale sind Anrufweiterleitung und Anrufselektion.
- Einige dieser verbesserten Merkmale sind nützlich zum Umleiten von Nachrichten von einem Telefon zu einem anderen, während andere nützlich sind zum Zwischenspeichern von Nachrichten, während eine Person an einem bestimmten Telefon nicht erreichbar ist. Beide dieser Zwecke sind für mobile Personen sehr geeignet, welche häufig auf Telefonnetzwerke zugreifen. Außerdem heben verbesserte Merkmale den Wert ein Telefon zu besitzen und regen mobile Personen an, mobile Telefone zu benutzen. Daher wäre es vorteilhaft, wenn verbesserte Merkmale für mobile Telefone verfügbar wären.
- Die Erfindung, welche in den beigefügten Ansprüchen definiert ist, stellt ein System zum Zugreifen auf ein Telefonsystem bereit, in dem ein Satz von Anwenderstationen mit eine Satz von Basisstationen zum Verbinden mit einem Telefonnetzwerk zusammenpasst. Basisstationen können direkt oder indirekt an das Telefonnetzwerk gekoppelt sein und können in der Lage sein, Anrufe in dem Telefonnetzwerk zu initiieren oder zu empfangen. Anwenderstationen können mobil sein, können einen Spreizspektrum-Sender oder -Empfänger umfassen und können in der Lage sein, dynamisch mit ausgewählten Basisstationen zu verbinden. Eine Vielzahl von Basisstationen kann an ein privates Vermittlungstelefonnetzwerk gekoppelt sein, um Anwenderstationen bei Anrufen außerhalb des Telefonnetzwerks zu koppeln.
- In Ausführungsbeispielen der Erfindung können Anwenderstationen CDMA, FDMA, TDMA oder andere Vielfachzugrifftechniken verwenden, um einen oder mehrere freie Kommunikationswege zu Basisstationen zu erhalten. Basisstationen können an günstig gelegenen Orten platziert sein oder selbst mobil sein. Anwenderstationen können Verbindungen mit Basisstationen herstellen oder abbrechen, während sich die Anwenderstation zwischen Servicebereichen bewegt oder andernfalls vorteilhafterweise durch Basisstationen versorgt wird. Anwenderstationen können von einem verbesserten Telefonserviceprozessor direkt Information empfangen und anfordern, um verbesserte Telefondienste innerhalb des Telefonnetzwerks zu erhalten. Basisstationen können mittels eines privaten Vermittlungstelefonsystems oder eines anderen Kleinbetrieb-Telefonsystems (wie z.B. ein PBX, Centrex oder Tastensystem) miteinander gekoppelt werden, um Anwenderstationen bei Anrufen außerhalb des Telefonnetzwerks zu koppeln. Anwenderstationen können auch direkt oder indirekt mit dem Telefonnetzwerk von selbst oder durch einen anderen Zugriffsweg gekoppelt werden, wie z.B. zellulare Schmalband oder Spreizspektrum Telefonschaltungen.

- Eine Vielzahl von Cluster-Controllern
114 und privaten Vermittlungstelefonsystemen115 können mit dem Prozessor120 mit verbesserten Diensten gekoppelt sein. Eine Vielzahl von Prozessoren120 mit verbesserten Diensten kann auch mit einem oder mehreren lokalen Switches121 gekoppelt sein, um mit dem Telefonnetzwerk103 zu koppeln. Außerdem können Steuerstationen112 oder vergrößerte Basisstationen119 mit den lokalen Switches121 , Prozessoren120 mit verbesserten Diensten, Cluster-Controllern114 oder Basisstationen104 gekoppelt sein. Die Cluster-Controller114 können zum direkten Routen von Anrufen außerhalb des Telefonnetzwerks103 miteinander gekoppelt sein, z.B. mittels bekannter Routing-Verfahren. Die Cluster-Controller114 können auch mit dem privaten Vermittlungstelefonsystem115 gekoppelt sein, welches Routing unter ihnen durchführen kann. - In einem bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiel können Anwenderstationen
102 bei Anrufen außerhalb des Telefonnetzwerks103 miteinander gekoppelt sein. Eine erste Anwenderstation102 kann einen Anruf initiieren durch Initiieren einer Kommunikation mit einer ersten Basisstation104 und Steuern dieser ersten Basisstation104 , um einen Anruf mit einer zweiten Anwenderstation102 zu initiieren. Die erste Basisstation104 kann den Anruf zu einer zweiten Basisstation104 routen, entweder direkt durch Verbindungen zwischen Basisstationen104 oder mittels des privaten Vermittlungstelefonsystems115 . Die zweite Basisstation104 kann die zweite Anwenderstation102 steuern (welche mit der zweiten Basisstation104 gekoppelt ist), um den Anruf zu empfangen. Kommunikation zwischen der ersten Anwenderstation102 und der zweiten Anwenderstation102 kann von der ersten Anwenderstation102 zu der ersten Basisstation104 zu dem privaten Vermittlungstelefonsystem115 zu der zweiten Basisstation104 zu der zweiten Anwenderstation102 gekoppelt sein und auf umgekehrtem Weg. - In einem bevorzugten Ausführungsbeispiel, wenn ein Hand-Over der Anwenderstation
102 von einer alten Basisstation104 zu einer neuen Basisstation104 stattfindet, während ein Anruf außerhalb des Telefonnetzwerks103 durchgeführt wird, kann die alte Basisstation104 oder die neue Basisstation104 das private Vermittlungstelefonsystem115 steuern, um den Anruf umzuleiten, um die neue Basisstation104 zu verwenden.
Claims (10)
- Ein drahtloses Kommunikationssystem, umfassend: – einen Switch (
121 ), der mit einem Fernsprechnetz (103 ) gekoppelt ist; – eine erste Basisstation (119 ), welche Schaltungen zum Herstellen eines Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationweges zu einer ersten Anwenderstation (102 ) umfasst; wobei das System gekennzeichnet ist durch – einen verbesserten Serviceprozessor (120 ), der mit dem Switch (121 ) und der Basisstation (119 ) gekoppelt ist; – einen Cluster-Controller (113 ), der mit dem verbesserten Serviceprozessor, dem Switch und der Basisstation gekoppelt ist; und wobei die Basisstation (119 ) durch Schaltungen zum Herstellen eines Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationweges zu einer zweiten Anwenderstation und zum Umgehen des Cluster-Controllers erweitert ist, wobei der Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg von dem Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg verschieden ist und wobei die erste Anwenderstation von der zweiten Anwenderstation verschieden ist. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 1, wobei der Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg einen zellularen Sprachkommunikationsweg umfasst.
- Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, desweiteren umfassend eine Steuerstation (
112 ), welche mit dem Cluster-Controller und dem Switch gekoppelt ist. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 1, 2 oder 3, wobei die erste Anwenderstation (
102 ) Schaltungen zum Herstellen eines Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweges zu der erweiterten Basisstation (119 ) und Schaltungen zum Herstellen des Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweges zu der erweiterten Basisstation (119 ) umfasst, wobei entweder der Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg oder der Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg hergestellt wird, wenn die erste Anwenderstation einen Anruf am Fernsprechnetz (103 ) initiiert oder empfängt. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 1, 2, 3 oder 4, wobei die zweite Anwenderstation (
102 ) über eine zellulare Basisstation (118 ) ohne Hilfe des Cluster-Controllers auf das Fernsprechnetz (103 ) zugreifen kann. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 1, 2, 3 oder 4, wobei ein Anruf zwischen der ersten Anwenderstation (
102 ) und dem Fernsprechnetz über einen ersten Rücktransport-Kommunikationsweg von der erweiterten Basisstation (119 ) zu dem Fernsprechnetz über den Cluster-Controller (113 ) hergestellt wird, und wobei ein Anruf zwischen der zweiten Anwenderstation (102 ) und dem Fernsprechnetz über einen zweiten Rücktransport-Kommunikationsweg von der erweiterten Basisstation zu dem Fernsprechnetz hergestellt wird, der den Cluster-Controller (113 ) umgeht. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 oder 6, wobei der Cluster-Controller (
113 ) mit der Basisstation (119 ) und dem Switch (121 ) gekoppelt ist und eine zweite Kommunikationverbindung zwischen der Basisstation (119 ) und dem Switch (121 ) bereitstellt. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 7, wobei der Cluster-Controller (
113 ) mit einer zweiten Basisstation (104 ) gekoppelt ist und Mittel zum Herbeiführen eines Hand-Overs der ersten Anwenderstation (102 ) von der Basisstation (119 ) zu der zweiten Basisstation (104 ) umfasst, so dass ein zweiter Spreizspektrum-Kommunikationsweg zwischen der ersten Anwenderstation und der zweiten Basisstation hergestellt werden kann. - Das drahtlose Kommunikationssystem nach Anspruch 8, wobei die Basisstation (
119 ) eingerichtet ist, den Cluster-Controller (113 ) zu umgehen, um der zweiten Anwenderstation (102 ) direkten Zugriff auf das Fernsprechnetz (103 ) zu erlauben, wenn die zweite Anwenderstation den zellularen Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg zur ersten Basisstation herstellt. - Ein drahtloses Kommunikationsverfahren, umfassend: Herstellen eines Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweges zwischen einem Switch (
121 ) und einer ersten Anwenderstation (102 ) durch einen Cluster-Controller (113 ) und eine Basisstation (119 ); Herstellen eines Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweges zwischen dem Switch (121 ) und einer zweiten Anwenderstation (102 ) durch die Basisstation (119 ) und Umgehen des Cluster-Controllers (113 ), wobei der Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg von dem Nicht-Spreizspektrum-Sprachkommunikationsweg verschieden ist und wobei die erste Anwenderstation von der zweiten Anwenderstation verschieden ist.
