Abstract
Views to the rear and along both sides of the vehicle are presented by the objective lenses integrated with the bodywork and optically coupled by respective fibre bundles to a panoramic display in front of the driver. The display may take the form of a narrow horizontal strip either on or above the instrument panel. Safety may be enhanced by interrupted all-round vision without the driver's being required to turn his or her head continually.
