To ensure the required safety while driving the To ensure the vehicle is the system with a lock Provide direction that prevents the TV from working tet while the vehicle is running.
However, road map information may be required tion and the view from the vehicle to the rear during the Drive to display and it is desirable to get one to have a clear image available on the display device.
The visibility of the image on the display device depends depending on the intensity of the outside light, which changes depending changes in time and place while driving. Info the driver must do this every time the intensi outdoor light changes while driving, the conditions of the displayed image on the display, at for example, brightness, contrast and hue of color by he actuates the corresponding adjustment buttons on the display facility are provided. This is undoubtedly tedious Work for the driver.
The object of the invention is therefore a system for control to specify a television monitor system for a motor vehicle, in which an image on a display device automatically and properly depending on the intensity of the outside light of the vehicle is regulated.
According to the invention, a system for controlling a remote Sehmonitorsystems specified for a motor vehicle, the one TV camera and a television set to depend on images desired from a video signal from the television camera to display.
The system includes a scanner for measuring the In intensity of the exterior light of the vehicle and for the generation of Light signals with different levels depending on the measured intensity. The system also includes adjustment scarf settings for setting a video signal to different Image conditions to get a clear image on the display of the TV under different conditions of the outside to represent bright. Depending on the light signals one of the setting circuits is selected to thereby classify to display the other image on the display.
According to one aspect of the invention, the scanner is an automatic aperture, e.g. B. an iris that in the TV camera is provided.
The system also includes an image output device with a lot number of information data required for driving; a selector is designed to be an output signal of the image output device selects.

The drawings show in
Fig. 1 ein Blockschaltbild zur Erläuterung eines Monitor anzeigesystems gemäß der Erfindung; und in Fig. 1 is a block diagram for explaining a monitor display system according to the invention; and in
Fig. 2 is a perspective view of the display device of the system.
As is apparent from FIGS. 1 and 2, a television set 2 is provided for a monitoring system according to the invention in the dashboard of a motor vehicle.
The monitor system has a television camera 1 with an automatic aperture, for example an iris 1 a for taking a view outside from the vehicle. An image output device 3 receives data signals from a road map, which have previously been stored in the memory of a computer, and location data signals, which are obtained from a gyro compass, and generates an image signal of the road map and the current location of the vehicle, which is composed of computer graphics . A selector switch 4 has a pair of fixed contacts X and Y to manually select a video output signal of the television camera 1 and an image output signal of the image output device 3 .
Furthermore, the system has four setting circuits 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 which are set to different levels with regard to the contrast, the brightness and the hue of the color of the image on the display device of the television set 2 . A Schmitt trigger circuit 9 is provided, which receives an output signal of the automatic aperture 1 a to provide an output pulse signal with a high level when the outside light is intense. AND gates 10 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 14 and 15 and a NOT gate 16 are provided in order to select one of the setting circuits 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 , respectively.
The television camera 1 generates a video signal which is applied to the setting circuits 5 and 6 . The output signal of the automatic aperture 1 a of the television camera 1 is applied to the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 . If a signal from the automatic aperture 1 a has a higher voltage than a given threshold, if the intensity of the outside light is high, the signal is applied to the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 . This Schmitt trigger circuit 9 then generates a high level signal. If the output signal of the automatic aperture 1 a presents a low intensity of the external light re, the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 generates a signal with a low level.
The high level signal from the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 is applied to the inputs of the AND gates 10 and 12 and to the input of the NOT gate 16 .
8 angelegt. The image signal from the image output device 3 is applied to the adjusting circuits 7 and 8 , respectively.
Each of the setting circuits 5 and 7 is set so that they provide the clearest picture on the display under the condition that the intensity of the exterior light of the motor vehicle is high.
Thus, the contrast, the brightness and the hue of the color of the picture are properly controlled with intense outside light. On the other hand, each of the adjustment circuits 6 and 8 is designed to provide the clearest picture provided that the outside of the automobile is dark. Thus, the contrast, brightness and hue of the color of the image are properly controlled when the outside environment is in a dark state.
A signal from the setting circuit 5 is applied to the AND gate 10 , and a signal from the setting circuit 6 is applied to the AND gate 11 . The outputs of the AND gates 10 and 11 are connected to the AND gate 14 .
A signal from the setting circuit 7 is applied to the AND gate 12 , and a signal from the setting circuit 8 is applied to the AND gate 13 . The outputs of the AND gates 12 and 13 are connected to the AND gate 15 . The outputs of the AND gates 14 and 15 are in turn connected to the television set 2 . The contact X of the selector switch 4 is connected to the AND gate 14 , while the contact Y is connected to the AND gate 15 .
The operation of the monitor system is explained below. If the selector switch 4 selects the contact X for the video output of the television camera 1 , a video signal is applied to the setting circuits 5 and 6 , respectively. When the outside of the vehicle is bright, the output signal of the Schmitt trigger circuit is applied to the AND gate 10 , and the output signal of the setting circuit 5 is applied to the AND gate 10 .
Thus, the AND gate 10 opens and generates a signal that is applied to the AND gate 14 . Since the AND gate 14 a signal from the contact X applies, the AND gate 14 opens and generates a signal which is applied to the TV. 2 The television 2 works in such a way that it brings the exterior camera 1 taken by the television camera to the display.
If the outside of the vehicle is dark, the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 generates a signal with a low level depending on the signal that is supplied by the automatic aperture 1 a , so that the AND gate 10 closes. On the other hand, the NOT gate 16 produces an output signal due to the low level signal from the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 , which in turn is applied to the AND gate 11 .
Since the video signal from the television camera 1 via the setting circuit 6 is applied to the AND gate 11 , the AND gate 11 opens and generates a signal which opens the AND gate. Thus, the video signal is applied to the television 2 and passes through the AND gate 14 so that the exterior view taken is displayed.
If the contact Y of the selector switch 4 is selected for the image output of the image output device 3 , the image signal is applied to the setting circuits 7 and 8 , respectively. When the external environment of the vehicle is bright, the signal from the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 is applied to the AND gate 12 , to which the image signal from the image output device 3 is also applied, which passes through the setting circuit 7 .
The AND gate 12 thus opens and generates a signal which is applied to the AND gate 15 . Since the signal from the contact Y is present at the AND gate 15 , the AND gate 15 opens and it generates an image signal which is applied to the television set 2 . The television set 2 displays the corresponding image, for example the road map and the traffic information, which are composed by the computer graphics.
If the external environment of the vehicle is dark, the output signal from the NON gate 16 is applied to the AND gate 13 . The image signal from the image output device 3 is just if applied to the AND gate 13 , through the A control circuit 8 through. Thus, the AND gate 13 opens and generates a signal which is applied to the television 2 after it has passed through the AND gate 15 .
If broadcast television programs are received, then the image on the TV is also auto controlled mathematically, depending on the intensity the outside light in a similar manner as described above ben.
There are namely an antenna, a tuner and a photoelectric sensor for measuring the intensity of the outside light on the vehicle to receive the broadcast television programs. Two control circuits are provided to control the image of the television 2 for bright and dark outside light outside of the vehicle. The output signal of the photoelectric sensor is applied to the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 . One of the control circuits is operated as a function of a signal from the Schmitt trigger circuit 9 or the NOT gate 16 .
The display device of the television set 2 can also be a liquid crystal display. The system according to the invention is very effective for such television sets with liquid crystal display.
In order to use the television 2 to display the rear view from the vehicle instead of using a rear view mirror, the image on the display device is changed to a monochrome image. As a result, it is easy to detect and measure the distance between the vehicle and a following vehicle, thereby increasing driving safety, which has been confirmed by experiments.
According to the invention, the image is on the display device of the TV automatically controlled depending on the intensity of the exterior light of the motor vehicle. As a result the driver needs the image state on the display not adjust the direction, so that the safety during the Driving the vehicle is guaranteed.
In the exemplary embodiment described, the television set is installed in a console inside the vehicle, as shown in FIG. 2. Of course, the position of the television set 2 is not limited to this location, rather the television set can be installed at any suitable location where the driver can see it.
