Description

In recent years, mortality from be breathed patients can be significantly reduced. Here plays in addition to the use of modern ventilation techniques sufficient warming and humidification of the respiratory gases optimal hygiene plays a crucial role at the same time. With good warming and humidification of the breathing gases, Vor exposure to good bronchial fluidization, however, there is formation in the ventilation tubes larger amounts of condensed water. This condensed water would, however, without special condensate separators in the Ventilation tube system in the lungs of the ventilated patient and not just lung damage through watering but beyond how to recently knows too severe life-threatening lungs cause inflammation.

Fig. 3 einen Längsschnitt des Y-Adapters (Schnitt ebene I ..... I, Fig. 2). Fig. 3 shows a longitudinal section of the Y adapter (section plane I ..... I, Fig. 2).

Fig. 4 demonstrates schematically the arrangement and function of the Y-adapter as the sole gas distributor and condensate separator in the breathing circuit.

The Y adapter with integrated water trap and automatic condensate elimination consists of a cylindrical housing ( 6 ) on which the two ventilation hose connectors (( 5 ), inhalation limb and ( 11 ), exhalation limb) tangentially on both sides are movable (rotatable about the axis ( 4 )) are inserted gas-tight (snapped). The corresponding inspiratory and expiratory breathing tubes ( 3 and 12 ) are attached to these sockets. A hose adapter ( 8 ) with its associated highly flexible breathing hose ( 9 ) and tracheal tube or tracheal cannula adapter ( 10 ) is inserted into the upper end of the cylindrical housing ( 7 ). At the lower end of the housing ( 14 ) an automatically working, known water trap ( 15 ) is fitted, which drains the condensate water via the pressed-in sealing cap with elimination spigot ( 16 ) and the connecting hose ( 17 ) into a foil collecting bag ( 18 ).

FunktionsbeschreibungFunctional description

Sie erfolgt anhand von Fig. 1-4.It takes place with the aid of FIGS. 1-4.

The breathing gas emitted by the ventilation machine ( 1 ) during the inspiration phase passes through the humidification heater ( 2 ) via the inspiration hose ( 3 ) and the inspiration connector ( 5 ), which can be rotated around the drawn axis ( 4 ) and is fitted gas-tight in the upper third ( 7 ) of the Y-adapter body ( 6 ), which is designed as a hollow cylinder. From here, the breathing gas flows further through the tube adapter ( 8 ) pressed into the upper third ( 7 ), a highly flexible, kink-proof breathing tube ( 9 ), an adapter ( 10 ) into the tracheal tube or the tracheal cannula of the patient ( P ) and above in its lungs ( 20 ).

In the exhalation phase, breathing gas now flows the opposite way from the right and left lungs ( 20 ) via the parts 10 , 9 and 8 into the hollow cylinder of the Y-adapter body ( 6 ) and further over the there movable, as well as nozzle ( 5 ) fitted exhalation nozzle ( 11 ), the exhalation folding hose ( 12 ) to the expiration part with expiration valve ( 13 ) of the ventilation machine ( 1 ). But in order to optimally warm and humidified breathing gas from 36-37 ° C and 100% rel. To maintain moisture for ventilation of the patient, the heat loss in the breathing tubes must be compensated; but this means that the breathing gas from the pre-humidifier ( 2 ) with approx. 46 ° C and 70-80% rel. Moisture must be fed into the inspiration hose ( 3 ).

Durch die erfolgende Atemgasabkühlung in der Inspira tions- wie Exspirationsphase, regnet aber dabei eine große Menge der Feuchte als Kondenswasser aus, vor allem in den ca. 1-1,5 m langen Schläuchen (3) und (12).Due to the cooling of the breathing gas in the inspiration and expiration phases, however, a large amount of the moisture rains out as condensed water, especially in the approx. 1-1.5 m long hoses ( 3 ) and ( 12 ).

However, as shown schematically in Fig. 4, the breathing gas humidifier heater ( 2 ) and the expiratory part ( 13 ) of the ventilation machine ( 1 ) can be spatially so high that the condensate in the arm on the joint holding arm ( 19 ) suspended breathing hoses ( 3 ) and ( 12 ) safely with enough slope, the severity can flow into the Y-adapter ( 6 ).

In the lower part of the Y-adapter ( 14 ) it is then separated by the automatically working water trap ( 15 ) built in and eliminated via the nozzle ( 16 ) and the hose ( 17 ) in the large-volume condensate collection bag ( 18 ).

As shown in FIGS. 1-4, with this Y adapter with integrated water trap and automatic condensate elimination, the respiratory patient can be safely protected against the lethal flow of condensed water into his lungs. - In addition, as the arrangement of the ventilation hose system shown schematically in Fig. 4 shows, apart from the new Y adapter with integrated water trap and automatic condensation water elimination, no additional water traps are required in contrast to conventional ventilation hose systems, which in addition to a Y-piece also have 3 -4 need water traps, which usually have to be emptied manually.
