Abstract

A compact, water vapour permeable, thermally activated film of a polyurethane is produced on reversal paper and laminated onto a textile sheet material without additional adhesive.

Description

Es gibt grundsätzlich vier Möglichkeiten, um das gewünsch te Resultat - Sperre für flüssiges Wasser, jedoch Durchlaß für Wasser dampf - zu erreichen:Water-vapor-permeable but waterproof materials are made of stei suitable for sportswear, workwear, shoes and much more others used. There are basically four ways to get what you want Result - lock for liquid water, but passage for water steam - to reach:

  • - die mikroporöse Membran;- the microporous membrane;
  • - die mikroporöse Beschichtung;- the microporous coating;
  • - die wasserdampfdurchlässige Kompaktbeschichtung;- The water vapor permeable compact coating;
  • - die wasserdampfdurchlässige Folie.- The water vapor permeable film.

The microporous membrane, e.g. B. the membrane from Gore has one large number of micropores that contain water vapor but no water droplets let through; but the surface tension of the water is much too high. The membrane is usually punctiform using a special glued onto a textile backing. At the glue points is the Membrane blocked.

The microporous coatings consist of polyurethane, which according to the doctor blade is coagulated, using certain systems are partially precoagulated. The pores are larger than those of the mikropo red membrane, also the pore distribution is less favorable, however Resilience very high.

Water vapor permeable compact coatings can differ cher basis (acrylates, polyurethanes, PVC blends), where it now depends on the presence of sufficient hydrophilic groups. The what Steam migration is inevitably paired with swelling.

As the last representative of the water vapor permeable materials To mention films that are based on the principle of water vapor permeable Compact coating work and therefore swell something when they Absorb water. A well-known representative is the Enka Sympatex film based on polyester. Such foils are applied in a punctiform manner gener adhesive dots laminated on the carrier. This is part of the Water vapor permeability lost.

The aim of the present invention was to find a way to water vapor-permeable films without the annoying glue point on a carrier to apply. Bayer AG, Leverkusen, has more aromatic solutions and aliphatic polyurethanes for the production of water vapor permeable, elastic PUR coatings developed.

Both direct and reverse coatings can be produced with this will. It was only natural to have a film squeegee on reversal paper To provide glue points, to laminate on the carrier and the paper deduct. Although in this way good guarantees - especially with Use of a PUR hot-melt adhesive web from Bonded Fiber Fabric Ltd. - were achieved, the disadvantage of water vapor impermeability remained there are some glue spots.

Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren besteht somit aus folgenden Stufen:It has now surprisingly been found that the on paper PU film without adhesive point, but also without damaging the Films, in a sufficiently wide temperature band on the carrier ther mix laminates. The method according to the invention thus consists of following levels:

  • - Aufrakeln der PUR-Lösung auf Umkehrpapier und Bildung des PUR-Films;- doctoring the PUR solution on reverse paper and forming the PUR film;
  • - thermisch kaschieren auf Träger;- thermal lamination on carrier;
  • - Abziehen des Papiers.- Peel off the paper.

Gegenüber Materialien, welche mit der bekannten, wasserdampfdurchlässi gen PES-Folie kaschiert sind, bietet das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren große Vorteile:Compared to materials with the well-known, water vapor permeable are laminated against PES film, the method according to the invention offers  big advantages:

  • - der Träger kann dehnbar sein (Wirkware);- The carrier can be stretchy (knitted fabric);
  • - viel weicherer Griff;- much softer grip;
  • - keine, die Wasserdampfdurchlässigkeit beeinträchtigenden Kleberpunkte.- no glue points that impair the water vapor permeability.

On the other hand, the full-surface welding to the substrate a significant increase in mechanical strength.

In the further course it was found that the method according to the invention ren for every thermoplastic with sufficient water vapor permeability, provided that a suitable film is on Release paper can be made. Both from solution with Dispersio nen, but also with solvent-free or low-solvent products, such as e.g. B. prepolymer, masked isocyanates of the family of "high solids" ge be working. On the other hand, blends of plastics, e.g. B. a dispersion of a hydrophilic acrylate with such a thermoplastic polyurethane. It's important, that at least one resin component with hydrophilic groups and at least a weldable resin component is present. There is a be here substantial number of ways that once the idea is revealed are accessible to the specialist.
