Nähere Untersu chungen zeigen, daß diese makromolekularen Inhalts stoffe die im Wasser befindlichen Bakterien viel fach umhüllen und damit vor den UV-Strahlen ab schatten, so daß die für die Inaktivierung der Bakterien erforderliche UV-Dosis nicht an die Bak terien gelangt.
