Nähere Untersu­ chungen zeigen, daß diese makromolekularen Inhalts­ stoffe die im Wasser befindlichen Bakterien viel­ fach umhüllen und damit vor den UV-Strahlen ab­ schatten, so daß die für die Inaktivierung der Bakterien erforderliche UV-Dosis nicht an die Bak­ terien gelangt.
