Abstract

The invention relates to a process for producing construction panels which comprise organic and/or inorganic fibres as reinforcement and at least one inorganic binder, such as cement, and fillers, if appropriate. The invention is to be conceived such that crystallisable cement reaction products can no longer have an effect on the fibres. For this purpose the invention provides for the fibres to be provided with an impregnation and/or a coating of hydrophobic substances before their incorporation into the fibre-binder mixture.

Description

The invention relates to a method for producing building boards, those made of organic and / or inorganic fibers as reinforcement and from at least one inorganic binder, such as cement and optionally consist of fillers.

Organic fibers, especially those made of cellulose, have the Disadvantage that they are crystallizable from those contained in the cement Cement reaction products attacked and destroyed in the long term be so that their service life is limited.

The invention is accordingly based on the object of a method of the type mentioned in such a way that the disadvantages of the known method are eliminated and that the Crystallization products can no longer affect the fibers.

This object is achieved in that the fibers with an impregnation before they are entered into the fiber-binder mixture and / or a coating of hydrophobic substances.

In this way it is achieved that, for example, on the one hand the sulfate contained in the cement cannot attack the fibers and that, on the other hand, crystallization products such as Ettringite as calcium sulfate silicate hydrate is also not can affect the fibers because they no longer water are acceptable.

Another advantage of the method according to the invention is in that the swelling and shrinking of the fibers due to the impregnation is largely reduced with the hydrophobic substances.

Various hydrophobic substances can be used. For example, it is possible to add silicone compounds for this use or oils, paraffin or the like; However, it is particularly advantageous if the hydrophobic substance is bitumen because unlike other hydrophobic substances, such as oils, bitumen long-term, namely for decades.

Such an impregnation is particularly for rotting organic Fibers such as cellulose fibers, wood chips, flax fibers, hemp fibers  and other fibers of this type are suitable, but also inorganic Fibers, such as glass fibers, are replaced by a protected such a hydrophobic coating. Glass fibers are used at for example, against a harmful crystallization, i.e. one Adhesion to the matrix, protected.

The hydrophobic protects inorganic fibers such as rock wool Coating against an alkali attack coming from the binder.
