- - ein erstes transparentes Substrat (S), das mit mehreren Dünnschichttransistoren (2, 2′, 2″, . . .) mit Elektroden zur Bildung von Anzeigeelementen versehen ist,
- - ein zweites transparentes Substrat (7) mit Gegenelektroden (8) und
- - eine zwischen den Substraten (S. 7) befindliche Schicht (11) aus elektro-optischem Material,
- - jede der Anzeigeelementeinheiten ein Farbfilter (110, 111, 112) aufweist, wobei benachbarte Farbfilter voneinander abweichende Spektraleigenschaften haben, und
- - die Farbfilter auf den Dünnschichttransistoren (2, 2′, 2″, . . .) durch gegenseitige Überlappung eine lichtabsorbierende Abdeckschicht bilden.
