Abstract
Description
Kaltwaschverfahren Cold washing process
The present invention relates to a machine cold washing process with controlled foam development Apart from special washing processes such as are used on highly sensitive synthetic, silk and wool textiles and at. those with heavily diluted washing liquors of usually less than 2 g detergent per liter, a liquor ratio of at least 25 liters of washing solution per kg of laundry at temperatures below 40 OC and as little mechanical processing as possible of the items to be washed are the same as normal household laundry temperatures of 60 to 95 ° C is required to achieve adequate washing results. There In today's household machines, this means that the heating is on average 20 to 40 liters of washing liquor is required and the increased washing temperature in general If it is maintained for 10 to 15 minutes, the energy expenditure is considerable There has been no lack of attempts to obtain this energy by reducing the washing temperature to save. This was the case before modern washing methods and machines were introduced It is usual to wash the laundry in a diluted washing solution for a long time - usually overnight soak. However, only a very small proportion of dirt is dissolved here. That The same applies to the "prewash cycle" in household washing machines, which is often the so-called clear or main wash precedes and in which the wash liquor does not or is only slightly heated. In the case of the foam-inhibiting effects listed as component (E) Dimethylpolysiloxanes are commercially available products known per se, which are usually mixed with binders such as fumed silica, emulsifiers and optionally solvents are present. Their proportion is preferably 0.2 to 0.8% by weight, based on the detergent used. The quantities are measured in such a way that that on the one hand an excessive foam development, which leads to foaming of the washing liquor or to a weakening of the mechanical processing of the laundry Formation of a "foam cushion" would lead, on the other hand, is avoided some amount of foam is present, which is beneficial to the consumer, washing and lathering mentally connects with each other, indicates a washing process.

The washing tests were carried out at 20 ° C and a washing time of 12, 20, 30 and 40 minutes, then rinsed three times with water, spun, dried and the remission of the samples determined photometrically. While washing the foam height was checked through the front window of the machine. With none foaming occurred in the experiments according to the invention. The foam just reached briefly the upper edge of the sight glass; usually it was only 2/3 to 3/4 of this Height reached.
Als Komponente D wurden folgende Substanzen verwendet. The following substances were used as component D.

In a second series of experiments, the experiments were absent of components D and E repeated (replacement by sodium sulfate).
The results are summarized in Table 2. Both the absence the component D and the absence of the foam inhibitor (component E) leads to a decrease in remission values. In addition, a "conventional", dvh.
