Description
The invention relates to the use of a soft silicone rubber compound for a breast prosthesis.
About 4 to 5% of all women develop breast cancer, mostly between the ages of 45 and 55 the patient occurs. Breast cancer requires breast removal in most cases, so that breast prostheses have to be worn to hide the fact that the affected woman only has one owns normal healthy breast.
From US-PS 25 43 499 is a breast prosthesis with a flexible, one-piece, simulated the breast shape, air-free with a liquid-filled hollow body known as the outer shape of the breast, double-walled shell is formed. A breast prosthesis known from US Pat. No. 2,851,692 either from a body made of elastic and spongy material or from one Hollow body made of light, fine-pored material with a filling made of elastic and spongy Owns material. Inside there are cylindrical cavities with movable weights are provided.
In a breast prosthesis known from DT-PS 13 03 139 is a molded body made of foam, the Has flat areas, spaced from a shell-shaped, double-walled hollow body made of plastic surrounded, which is connected to the molded body only along its edge and filled with a liquid.
The use of a soft silicone rubber compound for a breast prosthesis specified at the outset is no longer available the DT-OS 24 35 951 known.
The well-known breast prostheses adapt in their consistency, their appearance and their behavior when Do not fit well enough to the natural breast, so it is an object of the present invention to provide a To create breast prostheses that also maintain the natural appearance and mobility of the wearer when they move and has the softness of a healthy chest and is comfortable to wear and easy to put on.
This object is achieved according to the invention through the use of a resilient-soft two-component silicone rubber compound of gelatinous, sticky consistency for a breast prosthesis in such a way that a body adapted to the shape of the breast emerges this mass is surrounded by a plastic film. The inventor has found that addition crosslinking Silicone rubber is the ideal material for breast prostheses, as it is like the living tissue of the Chest behaves. Addition-curing silicone rubber is a resilient, soft mass of elastic gelatinous • low consistency and about the weight of the living breast tissue. Due to the elastic softness as well Mobility of the material can be determined with this replicate living breast in an ideal way. The material can be flexibly and softly pressed in because of its elastic behavior, in takes its original shape, but without showing rubber-like springs or permanent plastic deformations.
Die Vulkanisationszeit der katalysierten Mischung beträgt 1 bis 6 Stunden bei 40 bis 120° C.The silicone elastomers of the RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) type i 1 used according to the invention are obtained from linear organopolysiloxanes containing alkenyl and Si-H bonds in the presence of noble metal catalysts, such as platinum and platinum compounds, by vulcanization at elevated temperature, with Depending on the type and number of the organopolysiloxanes containing the Si-H bonds, either pure elastomers or elastomers containing organosiloxane resin are formed. Although the vulcanization of the linear organopolysiloxanes in the presence of noble metal catalysts can also take place at room or body temperature , vulcanization at a slightly elevated temperature is particularly advantageous. The vulcanization time of the catalyzed mixture is 1 to 6 hours at 40 to 120 ° C.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten additionsvernetiii zenden Zweikomponenten-Silikonkautschuk-Massen sind in der »Chemiker-Zeitung«, 97. Jahrgang (1973 Nr. 4, S. 176 bis 180), näher beschrieben. The addition networks used according to the invention Two-component silicone rubber compounds are listed in the "Chemiker-Zeitung", 97th year (1973 No. 4, pp. 176 to 180), described in more detail.
The addition-crosslinking silicone rubber compound used according to the invention is physiologically inactive ") thinkable. This material does not tend to migrate nor to chemical reactions through contact with the skin, condensation water or other substances. Since the material is not tear-resistant, and a sticky and If it has a slightly oily character, it must be covered with a cover in a manner known per se for its protection Plastic film surrounded and edged. A polyurethane film is used as the enclosing plastic film particularly suitable because this is physiologically harmless, forms a certain barrier layer and as a further · '■> advantage has a skin-like character.
In dieser zeigtAn exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing. In this shows
