Herbicide Verbindung und Verfahren zur Herstellung derselben
Pur diese Anmeldung wird die Priorität vom 4. Oktober 1971 aus
der USA-Patentanmeldung Serial No. 186 419 in Anspruch genommen.
Es wurde eine neue Klasse von herbiciden Verbindungen gefunden, die mit gewissen Unterschieden in der Selektivität und
Aktivität zur Verwendung als Herbicide zur Bekämpfung von Unkraut sowohl vor als auch nach dem Auflaufen, besonders in Gegenwart
von Nutzpflanzen, wie Erdnüssen und Mais, geeignet sind. Erfindungsgemäss kann man Unkraut bekämpfen, indem man
den Wuchsort des Unkrauts mit einer wirksamen Menge einer Verbindung
der allgemeinen Formel

einen Methyl- oder Äthylrest und R' einen Methyl-, Chlorinethyl-, Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Cyclopropyl-, Chlorpropyl-
oder Methoxymethylrest, und zwar vorzugsweise den Cy-

clopropyirest, bedeutet. Diese neuen Verbindungen können aus bekannten Ausgangsstoffen nach den nachstehend beispielsweise
beschriebenen Verfahren hergestellt v/erden.
Herstellung von 2-Amino-5-(ß-chlor-a,α-dimethyläthyl)-1,3,4-
thiadiazol
Eine Suspension von 150 g Thiosemicarbazid und 225 g ß-Chlortriraethylessigsäüre in 500 ml Dioxan wird unter gutem
Rühren bei Rückflusstemperatur in Verlaufe einer Stunde mit
262 g Phosphoroxychlorid versetzt. Nach Beendigung des Zusatzes erhitzt man weiter, bis die Chlorwasserstoffentwicklung
aufgehört hat. Nach dem Kühlen wird die überstehende Flüssigkeit abgegossen und der feste Rückstand mit 500 ml Wasser
versetzt. Dann setzt man unter Kühlen Natriumhydroxidtabletten zu, bis der pH-Wert bei 10 verbleibt. Der Niederschlag
wird abfiltriert, mit Wasser gewaschen und an der luft getrocknet.
Man erhält 266 g; P. 174-176° C; Ausbeute 85 % Eine
analytische Probe wird durch Umkristallisieren aus Methanol hergestellt; Ϊ. 176-177° C.

Herstellung von 2-Methylamino-5-(a,a-bis-chlormethyläthyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol
Eine Suspension von 34 g 4-Methylthiosemicarbazid in
150 ml Dioxan wird unter Rühren mit 60 g Bis-(2,2-ehlormethyl)-propionylchlorid
versetzt und dann auf Rückflusstemperatur erhitzt.
Nach vorsichtigem Zusatz von 50 g Phosphoroxychlorid erhitzt man weiter, bis die Chlorwasserstoffentwicklung aufgehört
hat. Nach dem Kühlen wird die überstehende Flüssigkeit dekantiert, der zähflüssige Rückstand mit Wasser versetzt und
das Gemisch mit Natriumhydroxidtabletten auf einen pH-Wert von
10 eingestellt. Hierbei bildet sich kein Niederschlag. Die Lösung wird mit Chloroform extrahiert, welches mit V/asser geschüttelt
wird, mit Kochsalz gesättigt; und über Natriumsulfat
getrocknet. Das Chloroform wird unter vermindertem Druck abge-

trieben und der Rückstand aus einem Gemisch aus Methylenchlorid und Petroläther umkristallisiert. Ausbeute 27»8 g =

äthyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol
6,0g 2-Amino-5-( ß-chlor-cc, a-dimethyläthyl )-1,3,4-thiadiazol
in 25 ml Pyridin v^erden bei Raumtemperatur mit- 6,0 g
Isobutyrylchlorid versetzt. Man rührt- das Reaktionsgemisch 3 Stunden und giesst es dann in Eisv/asser. Der feste Niederschlag
wird abfiltriert, mit Wasser gewaschen und an der Luft getrocknet. Ausbeute 6,5 g = 81 $>; ]?. 129-131° C-. Eine analytische
Probe v/ird durch Umkristallisieren aus einem Gemisch aus Methylenchlorid und Petroläther hergestellt; P. 132-133°0.

Die neuen,Herbicide können in wirksamer Weise sowohl nach
als auch vor dem Auflaufen angewandt werden. Nachstehend wird ein Verfahren zur Unkrautbekämpfung mit Hilfe dieser Verbindungen
unter gesteuerten Bedingungen im Gewächshaus beschrieben,
mit dessen Hilfe man Werte über die phytotoxische Aktivität und Selektivität der Verbindungen gewinnen kann.
(1 ) Anwendung nach dem Auflaufen
Von. jedem Wirkstoff wird eine wässrige Dispersion durch
sMischen von 0,4 g der betreffenden Verbindung mit 4 ml eines
Gemisches aus einem Lösungsmittel und einem Emulgiermittel (3 Teile handelsübliches polyoxyathyliert.es Pflanzenöl als
Emulgiermittel, 1 Teil Xylol und 1 Teil Leuchtöl) und Auffülrlen
mit Wasser unter Rühren auf 40 ml hergestellt,
Die, Pflanzen, an denen die Verbindungen erprobt werden '
sollen, werden'im Gewächshaus in 10 em-Töpfe eingepflanzt,
10 bis 18 Tage nach dem Auflaufen der Pflanzen werden drei
Töpfe einer jeden Pflanzensorte mit einer, wie oben beschrieben, hergestellten wässrigen Dispersion des Wirkstoffs in
einer Spritzdichte, entsprechend 5,6 kg Wirkstoff ge ha bei einem Spritzvolumen, entsprechend 561 l/ha, gespritzt. Eine
Woche nach dieser Behandlung werden die Pflanzen beobachtet und die Ergebnisse nach der folgenden Werteskala verzeichneti

Andere Verbindungen von mit den Verbindungen geniäse der
Erfindung eng verwandter Struktur werden eTsenfa^le kach den
oben beschriebenen Verfahren geprüft. Die Ergebnisse zeigen,
dass schon geringe Unterschiede in der Struktur einen ausschlaggebenden
Einfluss auf die Phytotoxizittt haben können*
Zum Beispiel wird bei Verbindungen der allgemeinen ?ormel
CH, X-GHo-C
keine herbicide Wirksamkeit beobachtet.
Das für die Unkrautbekämpfung bevorzugte Herbicid ist die Verbindung der Strukturformel

In einer weiteren, wie oben beschrieben, durchgeführten Versuchsreihe
wird diese Verbindung mit zwei anderen ähnlichen Verbindungen hinsichtlich ihrer Wirkung auf 24 Pflanzenarten
untersucht. Die nach der obigen Werteskala verzeichneten Ergebnisse finden sich in Tabelle III.

Claims (7)
- Pat e, η t a n a p piche. 1.17. Herbicide Verbindung, gekennzeichnet durch die allgemeine FormelX-CHo-GN-C-B· R Oin der X ein Wasserstoff- oder ChIoratom, R ein Waeseretoffatom, einen Methyl- oder Äthylrest und R1 einen Methyl-, Chlormethyl-, Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Cyd-opropyl-, Chlorpropyl- oder Methoxymethylrest bedeuten.
- 2. Herbicide Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie N-(5-Chlor-tert.butyl-2-thiadiazolyl)~cyclopropancarboxamid ist.
- 3. Herbicide Verbindung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie N-(5~a,a-Bis-chlormethyläthyl-2-thiadiazolyl)-propionamid ist.
- 4. Verfahren zur. Eeratellung der herbiciden Verbindungen gemäss Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein Säurechlorid der allgemeinen FormelCH:X-CH2-C-CH, Jl'G-Cl-U-3098 15/1203S-466 /^ χmit einem Thiosemicarbazid der allgemeinen FormelIiH2N-KH-C-Mzu einem 2-Aminothiadiazol der allgemeinen FormelX-CH2-Cumsetzt und diese Verbindung mit einem Säurechlorid der allgemeinen FormelCl-C-R1Il 0reagieren lässt, wobei X, R und R! die Bedeutungen gemäss Anspruch 1 haben.
- 5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man zur Herstellung von N-(5-Chlor-tert.butyl-2-thiadiazolyl)-cyclopropancarboxamid ein Säurechlorid verwendet, in dessen allgemeiner Formel R1 den Cyclopropylrest bedeutet.
- 6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man zur Herstellung von N-(5-a,a-Bis-chlormethyläthyi-2-thiadiazolyl)-propionamid ein Säurechlorid verwendet, indessen allgemeiner Formel R1 den Äthylrest bedeutet
- 7. Verwendung von Verbindungen gemäss Anspruch 1 bis 3 als Wirkstoffe in Unkrautbekämpfungsmitteln.3098 15/1203
