The invention relates to a band-shaped body with a optically effective coating and a method for producing the band-shaped body.
With band-shaped bodies old optically effective coating, for example in photographic film tapes, it is highly desirable if the opportunity exists on that band-shaped body to store additional information. Such information can be, for example act as a sound recording when the belt-shaped body is a photographic film, the coating of which is a Represents image recording. For band-shaped bodies in In the form of photographic film tapes or other types of tapes, it is also often advantageous to use code markings to be recorded by the switching operations in associated projection devices, for example in the case of cinematographic films are triggered or those in the case of band-shaped bodies of a different type during their production and / or processing j effect control processes
With conventional band-shaped bodies with optically more effective Coating, for example in the case of cinematographic film strips, is known to cover a special surface area to be provided as a sound track or signal track. For the production of such a track, for example by coating with magnetizable material * incurs considerable costs.
The invention is based on the object of creating a band-shaped body of the type in question, which comparatively can be produced cheaply.

Diese Dickenänderungen der Beschichtung bewirken optisch festeilbare Querlinien auf dem bandförmigen Körper, die beispielsweise unter Verwendung einer Lichttoneinrichtung zur Signalerzeugung verwendet werden können·Starting from a band-shaped body of the type mentioned at the outset, this object is achieved according to the invention in that that the coating in Blindes least a length of the band-shaped body intentionally produced one Having modulation of their thickness. These changes in the thickness of the coating cause optically definable transverse lines on the band-shaped body, which is used, for example, using a light sound device for signal generation can be
The invention is also based on the object of a method to create with which in a simple and economical manner the production of tape-shaped bodies according to the invention is made possible is.
According to the invention, this object is in a method in which the body for coating on a device for application a drop of coating compound is passed by, solved in that when the coating compound is applied optionally the drop of the same and the band-shaped body with one or more predetermined frequencies are moved relative to each other. By swinging the coating drop relative to the band-shaped body the modulation of the thickness of the coating is effected in the simplest way.

Die folgenden Beispiele sollen einige aus der Vielzahl der Verwendungsmöglichkeiten aufzeigen:The method can be used in a wide variety of ways and for a wide variety of purposes. The following Examples should show some of the multitude of possible uses:
A) A special motion picture film is coated with emulsion using a coating funnel, with the coating drop is set in vibration, the background sound information to be communicated to the film in terms of recording correspond to variable tone frequency. The film is exposed in the usual way and then developed. The variations in the thickness of the emulsion layer appear on the developed film as visible transverse lines; However, if the film is projected by means of a projector, the with different Frequently occurring lines on the projection screen are not visible. The projector comes with a Lichtonteil equipped, its output for playback the background sound information is connected to a loudspeaker (provided that no frequency correction required to compensate for different speeds of movement during coating and reproduction is) .

The one commonly used in motion picture film production Coating funnel formed Beschlchtungstropfen periodically at predetermined intervals (for example after 150 cm of carrier material has passed through) in oscillations offset. The fluctuations in the layer thickness generated in this way cause the film - after it has been exposed and was developed - regularly appearing visible stripe patterns. These striped patterns become the control a motion picture projector is used. The projector is equipped with a light tone part for scanning the striped patterns. A filter circuit matched to the frequency of the stripe pattern on the light tone part switches a relay, which in turn, for example, actuates the switch for the forward run of the projector. After running the PiIms gets the projector through in the same way automatically switched off the projected film.
Weitere Verwendungsmöglichkeiten sind:Other possible uses are:
Control of a coated strip material during its Manufacturing and / or processing.
2. Aufzeichnung von kodierten Informationsdaten usw.2. Recording of coded information data, etc.
The invention is not restricted to photographic coatings, but also to other types of optically effective coatings Coatings applicable, i.e. for coatings that reduce the amount of light hitting f-ie in relation to the layer thickness influence. An example of this is a colored gel arranged as a coating on the band-shaped body, whereby the gel is translucent depending on the layer thickness.

Fig. 2 is a block diagram of a motion picture projector in which a Embodiment of the invention is used.
Ferner kann der Schalter 24 von Hand geschlossen werden, um den» Beschichtung; tropfenReferring to Fig. 1, there is shown a tape-shaped photographic film base 10 is guided past a coating funnel 14 via an intermediate roller 12 by means of a feed roller 18. Of the. Coating funnel 14 guides a coating drop 20 photographicly to the film base 10 Emulsion to coat the carrier material with emulsion. A signal generator 22 acts with a loudspeaker together, with the loudspeaker 2 3 directing its output energy onto the coating drop. The signal generator can optionally be activated by means of a switch 24. When the coating drop 20 through the out the signal generator 22 and the loudspeaker 23 formed combination is vibrated, so this leads to Fluctuations 26 in the layer thickness of the emulsion 28 applied to the film substrate 10. The frequency, amplitude, Periodicity, etc. of such fluctuations in the layer thickness depend on the structure and operation of the signal generator 22 and its switch 24, which the person skilled in the art deems appropriate in each case. So he becomes with his The choice is based, for example, on the intended use of the coated carrier material. In other words, you can for example, use a motorized cam which periodically closes switch 24 to stop the coating drop 20 to supply an unmodulated oscillation (recording of control signals). Furthermore, the switch 24 closed by hand to cover the »coating; drops

Weitere Anwendungsmöglichkeiten sind, wie der Fachmann ohne weiteres erkennen kann , gegeben.continuously supply a modulated sound oscillation for a sound recording (recording of background sound information). Further applications are, as the skilled artisan can readily recognize given.
As already mentioned, developing the product produced according to FIG. 1 causes the thicker areas of the emulsion layer form an optical contrast to the thinner areas.
A projector shown in Figure 2 is for recording both control signal recordings and background sound recordings provided film 30 set up. The film 30 is by means of a motor 32 on a not shown Image window passed. The light of a lamp 34 radiates through the film 30 into the image window, the lamp 34 and the motor 32 being fed by a current source 38. The light emerging from the film 30 passes through a beam splitter 40 to a projection lens for the purpose of imaging 42, while part of the light exiting from the beam splitter 40 to a photoelectric converter containing circuitry 44 is steered. The output signal of this circuit arrangement 44 is via an amplifier 46, whereupon the background sound information recorded thereon during the manufacture of the film filtered out by a filter 48 and fed to a loudspeaker 50. The occurrence of a separate Carrier wave frequency (e.g. at the end of the projected film) causes a filter circuit 52 to provide a separate output signal generated. This output operates a relay 54 to cut off power to lamp 34 and motor 32.
