Methods and devices for analyzing human sleep (e.g. DE 42 09 336, DE 195 09 478, DE 41 01 471, DE 196 14 790 and others), which have a physiological sensor system Analyze the sleep signal to find a physiological wake-up time. The disadvantage here is that these wake-up methods and devices do not become physiological optimal wake-up time (in terms of psychological recovery value) can be used nen.
Methods and devices for analyzing human sleep (e.g. DE 295 11 531, DD 2 63 366, DE 43 03 933 u. a.) for the determination of a physiologically valuable alarm point of time (with regard to the recreational value). The disadvantage here is that these methods and Devices use only one physiological parameter for sleep phase detection and thus only allow a very inaccurate detection. These methods and devices can also be used not in people of older age or with pathological symptoms or for moni Apply toring functions.
Methods and devices for analyzing human sleep (e.g. DE 31 02 239, WO 91/16853, and others) for the determination of a wake-up time depending on a Dreams. The disadvantage here is that these methods only for psychiatric or psychological me methods applied and due to their uncomfortability not to improve recovery value of sleep can be used.
B. The disadvantage here is that these methods only specify one the sleep phase apply and not all valuable for an optimal wake-up time Consider sleep phases.
Methods and devices for analyzing human sleep (e.g. DE 44 40 887, DE 39 38 941, and. a.), the methods of time and frequency domain for analyzing sleep Use state and / or subjective input variables. The disadvantage here is that external specified threshold values and decision parameters are required and therefore not themselves recognizing individual sleep behavior is taken into account.
B. DE 33 45 739, DE 36 13 889, EP 0450341, WO 95/00001 u. a.). Methods and devices for monitoring physiological parameters (e.g. DE 33 45 739, DE 36 13 889, EP 0450341, WO 95/00001 and. a.). The disadvantage here is that these methods and devices not to improve sleep and / or influence during the Sleep can be used.
In contrast, methods and devices for safe and convenient detection are not known on sleep states through multiparametric and adaptive biosignal processing with the aim setting the increase in the recreational value of human sleep by determining a subjectively optimal wake-up time with simultaneous monitoring function of relevant parameters.
By adapting the wake-up time to physiological conditions within selectable The invention enables tolerance times to improve the physical and psychological lei Ability and general well-being for everyone, regardless of individual Sleeping habits, time and place conditions.
The invention can be used wherever a certain degree of recovery to be achieved faster and more intensively or to go beyond that with conventional ones Methods and devices is possible. Furthermore, the invention for diagnostics and The Therapy in the clinical and domestic area for various diseases (e.g. apnea, psychi diseases, epilepsy, enuresis, cardiac diseases) mobile and comfortable turn come.
The aim of the invention is to improve the sleep behavior or the sleep quality of the men to contribute. In direct dependence on the physiological and psychological situation of the sleeper, which can affect sleep behavior, especially the sleep phases an individually optimal wake-up time can be determined by means of the invention. This is expressed especially due to the elimination of the well-known "morning muffle mood" despite quantitative sufficient sleep time, since the influence of sleep phases known from sleep research the wake-up time is used and applied. So the wake-up process initiated outside of the psychologically regenerative REM sleep phases, since it is in the other Sleep phases causes less psychologically uncomfortable stress. In this respect, the invention has a direct positive influence on performance and ability to concentrate and thus on everything common well-being of man. Furthermore, the invention has the aim of displaying, processing processing (e.g. for control, regulation of external devices), storage of physiological and / or pa thological parameters during sleep for diagnostic and / or therapeutic purposes enable. An example of this is an alarm function in the event of prolonged breathing arrest called snoring people (apnea).
The invention is based on the object of creating an arrangement - which uses natural sleep behavior - to determine an optimal wake-up time as a function of a preset wake-up time, physiological and aphysiological conditions. This task is specified as follows:
- 1. eine sichere Schlafphasendetektion zu realisieren,1. to implement a reliable sleep phase detection,
- 2. zu einem physiologisch günstigen Zeitpunkt zu wecken,2. wake up at a physiologically favorable time,
- 3. auf physiologische und/oder pathologische Zustandsänderungen zu reagieren,3. react to physiological and / or pathological changes in state,
- 4. durch einfache, zuverlässige und komfortable Funktionsweise für jedermann zeit- und orts unabhängig nutzbar zu sein.4. through simple, reliable and convenient functionality for everyone at any time and place to be usable independently.
The invention is based on the following observation:
Humans go through certain phases during sleep, which change several times during the entire sleep process. For example, there is the REM phase (Rapid Eyes Movement), also called the dream phase, and the non-REM phase. The awakening in the psychologically valuable REM phase, which occurs every 100 minutes for 10 to 30 minutes, causes the well-known "not to have a good night's sleep" or "morning moody mood", although the length of sleep would have been enough time to "be awake". Accordingly, the "being well rested" depends on the length of sleep and the sleep phase in which the alarm is awakened.
According to the invention, the object was achieved with an arrangement of four functional units, namely by means of a sensor system, telemetry line, processing unit and actuator system.
The reliable detection of the sleep state is realized by:
- - die Erfassung mehrerer physiologischer Parameter (z. B. Pulsfrequenz, Blutdruck, Atemfre quenz, Körpertemperatur, Nervenpotentiale und Muskelpotentiale) und- the recording of several physiological parameters (e.g. pulse rate, blood pressure, respiratory frequency, body temperature, nerve potentials and muscle potentials) and
- - die Verarbeitung der Parameter bzw. daraus abgeleiteter Größen mittels adaptiver Verfahren der Signalverarbeitung für die individuelle Zustandsanalyse.- The processing of the parameters or quantities derived therefrom by means of adaptive methods of Signal processing for individual condition analysis.
Awakening at a physiologically favorable time is realized by:
- - die sichere Detektion des Schlafzustands,- the reliable detection of the sleeping state,
- - um damit einen physiologisch günstigen Weckzeitpunkt (außerhalb der REM-Schlafphase) zu bestimmen und - in order to have a physiologically favorable wake-up time (outside the REM sleep phase) determine and
- - in Abhängigkeit von eingestellten Weckzeitpunkt und Weckzeittoleranz einen Weckreiz auszulö sen.- trigger a wake-up stimulus depending on the set wake-up time and wake-up time tolerance sen.
The reaction to physiological and / or pathological changes in state is realized by:
- - Monitoringfunktionen der vom Sensorsystem registrierten physiologischen Parameter,Monitoring functions of the physiological parameters registered by the sensor system,
- - die Verarbeitung (z. B. für Steuerung, Regelung externer Geräte, Alarmfunktion) und/oder Spei cherung dieser Parameter bzw. daraus abgeleiteter Größen und- Processing (e.g. for control, regulation of external devices, alarm function) and / or storage of these parameters and / or derived values and
The external input possibility of certain limit values and calculation of adaptive parameters for determining individual monitoring and alarm functions
The simple, reliable and convenient mode of operation is realized by:
The compact, miniaturized and user-friendly structure that allows natural sleep habits not affected or hardly affected,
- - eine telemetrische Übertragungsstrecke und- a telemetric transmission link and
- - die Konzeption multiparametrischer und adaptiver Signalverarbeitung.- the conception of multiparametric and adaptive signal processing.
The biological wake-up process will proceed according to the following scheme:
- - Einstellen der Weckzeit (z. B. 6.00 Uhr)- Setting the alarm time (e.g. 6 a.m.)
- - Einstellen bzw. automatische Generierung der Weckzeittoleranz (für das Bsp. von 5.50-6.05 Uhr)- Setting or automatic generation of the wake-up time tolerance (for example from 5.50 a.m. to 6.05 a.m.)
B. 5.56 Uhr)- Registration of the end of the REM sleep phase - in which waking is to be prevented - through the sensor system (e.g. 5.56 a.m.)
- - Weckvorgang durch das Aktorsystem (z. B. 5.57 Uhr).- Wake-up process by the actuator system (e.g. 5.57 a.m.).
The sleep-controlled alarm clock can be used to change again within the wake-up time tolerance in the REM phase (dream phase) before it starts by a wake-up signal, because otherwise the person would be "less well-rested" despite a slightly longer sleep period, than before this REM phase began. If z. B. a cessation of breath - forth If apnea occurs, a wake-up process is triggered via the monitoring / alarm function.
