Abstract

Sludge de-watering using computer-controlled process comprises a computer program and guidance system using arithmetical algorithms with a flocculent agent and a streaming current detector (SCD). The concentrate load count is measured by a calibrated SCD (17), and the signal is corrected by an SCD co-regulator (12) under the control of a program (15) the sludge flow is then released to a flocculent agent pump (10) with a regulator (9). The pump automatically delivers the optimum amount of flocculating agent to the sludge. A sludge flow regulator (13) operates to given parameters and controls the de-watering unit (5).

Description

The invention relates to a method for controlling the sludge dewatering in clarification works using a Streaming Current Detector (SCD) and a Pro time control system or another suitable programmable system for rea Calculation algorithms for the optimal flocculant dosage and for a fully automatic optimal sludge application and a device for Execution of the procedure.

In sewage treatment plants, flocculants are used for sludge dewatering by changing the properties of the components of the sludge a be to achieve accelerated and improved drainage.

For assessing the drainability of a sludge and for optimization A large number of measuring methods are available for metering the flocculation aids Available. For the continuous operation of mechanical units Sludge dewatering with constantly changing sludge qualities can do this Measuring methods only provide rough guidelines and reference points. Therefore, the most drainage systems with one for the average sludge condition the amount of flocculants designed plus a safety surcharge operated.

The monitoring of the dosage of flocculants is limited during operation of drainage units often only on the visual assessment of the centratab running and of the dewatered sludge.

The use of turbidity measuring devices for flocculant dosage is known  tion. The disadvantage is the rapid contamination of the photocells and thus the large size Inaccuracy of the measured values as well as the basic ambiguity, less flocculated or flocculated area, of the measured value due to the parabolic characteristic of the Measuring system.

Also known methods for controlling the flocculant dosage on the Basis of an on-line mass / solid measurement according to DE 43 21 994 and DE 43 33 579 have proven to be unsuitable in practice since these Measurement of the solids content in the feed with regard to inaccuracies, the repro ducibility and the procedural relevance of the measured values under the Practical operation inevitable constant changes in sludge components and the resulting sludge properties are not suitable for continuous operation is. The measurement of the degree of clarity of the clear phase after the Drainage is possible, but the basic ambiguity of the measured value Due to the parabolic characteristic of the measuring method, the suitability closes the Measured quantity for the flocculant dosage practically.

In DE 42 35 507 the task of the coagulant is via a pump in Dependence on the capillary suction time (CST) of the filtrate and the filter cake controls.

A disadvantage is the non-continuous and thus delayed acquisition of the measured values for the CST and thus the delayed influence on the amount of flocculant such as the complicated technical implementation of the described methods for recording CST in practice and the associated susceptibility to faults as well as a expected high maintenance effort.

Furthermore, a device known as SCD is known to the user of flocculation auxiliary information about the number of charges in a solid Suspension delivers.

However, this information alone is not sufficient for optimal dosage because a regulating and control circuit must be set up in which the SCD signal is processed to achieve optimization.

The invention has for its object to provide a method that a tax sludge dewatering through optimal fully automatic dosing of Flocculation aids depending on the measured, over a step and Current sludge feed quantity and the current sludge quality as well as a maximum utilization of the sludge dewatering unit according to the current sludge properties and a device for Performing this procedure.

According to the invention the object is achieved in that the charge number of the center measured with a known SCD and the signal in a streaming cur rent detector correction controller (SCD correction controller) via a known process control system or installed in another suitable programmable system Corrected program and this is fed to a flocculant regulator, which the Flocculant pump controls the optimal amount of flocculant Mud quantity admits.

In diesem bekannten Prozeßleitsystem oder dem anderen programmierbaren System ist die Berechnungsformel zur Bestimmung der Flockungshilfsmittelmenge ent sprechend den maschinentechnischen Parametern und unter Berücksichtigung des festgelegten Trockensubstanzgehaltes wie folgt eingegeben:One after the other, the sludge task is carried out in stages using the program regulator, then with a current regulator to a drainage unit via a Sludge controller to a sludge pump controlled so that the drainage day gregat treated with sludge according to the maximum permissible load becomes. In this known process control system or the other programmable System is the calculation formula for determining the amount of flocculant speaking the machine technical parameters and taking into account the specified dry matter content as follows:

S = Schlammenge in m³/h

The device for performing the method is constructed such that after Drainage unit of the well-known SCD for measuring the Zen charge is arranged, which is followed by the SCD correction controller. This controller is via the program that is appropriate in the process control system or in the other programmable system is installed, connected to the flocculant regulator the one that the flocculant pump is connected downstream of, and thus automatically metered supply of flocculants via an inductive flow meter the drainage unit is guaranteed. A dilution water governor with a downstream inductive flow meter is before the supply of the Sludge arranged in the drainage unit.

Furthermore, the device according to the invention includes a step regulator and a current regulator to feed the sludge amount for the drainage unit and a Sludge controller for controlling a sludge pump, its control algorithms and Parameters through the known process control system or other suitable program mable system are realized as well as an inductive flow meter for measuring the Amount of mud.

Autonomous monitoring is used to control the entire control system unit between the SCD and the process control system or the other suitable programmable system arranged.

When starting the centrifuge, the sludge controller 2 , the flocculation aid controller 9 and the dilution water controller 8 are set to manual operation. The SCD correction controller 12 is also switched to manual mode.

Für die Schlammaufgabemenge und die Flockungshilfsmittelmengenberechnung ist ein Programm 15 bekannten Prozeßleitsystem Teleperm M installiert, das die Berech nungsformel zur Bestimmung der FlockungshilfsmittelmengeFor the sludge feed quantity and the flocculant quantity calculation, a program 15 known process control system Teleperm M is installed, which is the calculation formula for determining the flocculant quantity

beinhaltet.includes.

The sludge flows through the feed pipe 1 , via the sludge pump 3 and via the inductive flow meter 4 to measure the amount of sludge into the centrifuge 5 . The centrifuge 5 is ren in manual operation with a sludge amount Q₁ = 25 m³ / h.

After approximately 15 minutes, the existing controllers, the sludge controller 2 , the flocculant controller 9 , the dilution water controller 8 and the SCD correction controller 12 are switched to automatic operation.

From sludge feed quantity Q₁ = 25 m³ / h to the centrifuge 5 by hand, the sludge feed quantity is automatically increased step by step in time-equidistant intervals up to Q₂ = 35 m³ / h.

Then the sludge feed amount is also gradually increased at constant intervals until the current consumption of the drive motor of the centrifuge 5 has reached the value I 1 = 148 A. After that, the system automatically switches to current control mode.

In the current regulator mode, the sludge feed quantity is continuously increased until the current consumption has reached the value I₂ = 175 A, which is selected according to the nominal load of the centrifuge 5 . The current controller 13 controls the sludge feed amount in the following continuous operation so that the value I₂ is not exceeded.

The amount of sludge is measured with the inductive flow meter 4 . The centrifuge 5 is connected downstream of the SCD 17 , which determines the charge concentration in the centrate and the information about the downstream SCD correction controller 12 is connected to the program 15 for evaluating the information about the setpoint, which is calculated using the stored calculation formula for determining the amount of the flocculation aid , passes and then forwarded to the flocculation aid controller 9 the result for correction, which controls the exact amount of flocculation aids via the flocking aid pump 10 and the inductive flow meter 11 and the exact amount of dilution water 6 via the inductive flow meter 6 according to the information provided by the dilution water controller 8 and adds the sludge through the dilution water valve 7 .

Dabei wird zwischen zwei Bereichen unterschieden:A distinction is made between two areas:

I: Flocculated when the SCD output signal is <49.9%, the parameters of the SCD correction controller are set in this area in such a way that the gain (K P ) is chosen to be as large as possible, with the shortest retention time (T V ) and mean reset time (T N ).
Area II: Flocculated when the SCD output signal is <50.1%, the parameters of the SCD correction controller are switched so that the gain (K P ) is small, but with a long reset time (T N ) the proportion of Retention time (T V ) is high.

The metered sludge and the metered flocculant are passed into the centrifuge 5 .

The entire control and regulating process for the automatic sludge feed and flocculant feed is checked by the autonomous monitoring unit 16 .

Through the self-sufficient monitoring unit 16 , the dry run protection of the centrifugate sample pump 18 , the drive motor for the volumetric piston of the SCD 17 , the dry run protection after the measuring cell and the power supply for the self-sufficient monitoring unit 16 , for the SCD 17 and for the centrifugate sample pump 18 with the stipulation monitors that when one of these monitoring units responds, the sludge dewatering is not switched off, but a message is triggered for the operator and the dewatering operation is switched over from program 15 to manual and is operated with the parameters last entered.
