The invention relates to a circuit arrangement and a method with monitoring of the charge of Latterienf in particular gas-tight accumulators with an unknown discharge state by means of a constant voltage source and consists in the fact that a relay is located in the charging circuit, which, depending on the current change, responds when a specified current differential value is reached and via a Relay combination interrupts the charging current in the event of an undesired second current increase or is limited by switching on a resistor in the charging circuit.
