Die Stromabnehmer elektrisch betriebener Fahrzeuge liegen stets unter einem spitzen Winkel am Fahrdraht an und es wird daher auch die Schleiffläche des bekannten U-förmigen Schleifstückes denselben Winkel mit den Flanschen des U-Stückes bilden. Hierdurch entsteht am Schleifstück eine zugespitzte Kante, welche leicht zackig wird und Veranlassung zur Funkenbildung gibt. Dieser Nachteil wird vermieden, sobald der Stromabnehmer einen V-förmigen Querschnitt erhält. Wird der Winkel, welchen die Schenkel des V bilden, doppelt so groß gemacht wie der Winkel, unter welchem der Stromabnehmer sich gegen den Fahrdraht legt, so stehen die Schleifflächen des Stromabnehmers senkrecht zu den Schenkeln des V-förmigen Schleifstückes; zugeschärfte ^Kanten können nicht mehr in dem Maße entstehen wie früher, und die Funkenbildung mit ihren schädliehen Folgeerscheinungen wird vermieden oder doch wenigstens ganz wesentlich vermindert.The pantographs of electrically operated vehicles are always under a point Angle on the contact wire and it is therefore also the grinding surface of the well-known U-shaped Contact strip form the same angle with the flanges of the U-piece.
