Description
In the past, blade bits were used to sink deep boreholes, which are spade-shaped or leaf-shaped and their cutting edges with hard metal to be occupied. The cutting edges, which penetrate the mountains somewhat, peel off everybody Turn a thin layer of rock from the bottom of the borehole, that of the Rinsing fluid escaping from narrowed channels is swirled away and transported to the surface will. Blade chisels have several disadvantages that reduce their usefulness: 1. They cause high torque that occurs intermittently and the linkage is strong claimed; 2. They therefore often lead to fishing work, which causes considerable difficulties prepare; 3. They wear out quickly and require frequent pulling work; 4. They do not provide a smooth and dimensionally accurate borehole; 5. They're for drilling harder Rock unsuitable. Even if plastic rock with thin layers is harder Blade chisels are not very useful.
(Vergleiche z. B. L. C. R o g e r s in Oil and Gasjournal, 46 (1967), S. 118 bis 121, oder Ö. A 11 i q u a n d e r in »Das moderne Rotarybohren«, VEB-Verlag, Leipzig 1965.) In the last few decades the roller bit has been used to an increasing extent in the deep drilling technique. (Compare e.g. BLC Rogers in Oil and Gasjournal, 46 (1967), pp. 118 to 121, or Ö. A 11 iquander in "Das Moderne Rotarybohren", VEB-Verlag, Leipzig 1965.) The drilling process is fundamental for him different from the blade chisel. The chisel teeth, which are usually arranged on three conical rollers, are pressed against the rock on the bottom of the borehole, whereby small pieces of rock burst out, which are washed away by the drilling fluid (FIG. 1 a). In order to achieve optimal drilling progress for every rock, many types have been developed which differ in the shape, size, number and arrangement of the teeth and other structural parts. The advance compared to blade chisels is mainly that harder rocks can be drilled faster and more safely. It has been shown, however, that roller bits in plastic rock, such as moist clays or soft chalk, give a drilling progress that is far too poor in relation to the hardness of the rock. The reason for this can be found in the deformation of the plastic rock (Fig. 1b); fragments of rock do not split off. By changing the shape and arrangement of the chisel teeth and shifting the roller axis so that the cone tip is not in the borehole axis, sliding of the chisel teeth is produced in addition to the rolling movement in order to cause pieces of rock to be lifted from the borehole bottom.
Good drilling progress can be achieved with roller chisels in plastic rock only achieve when using narrow nozzles, through which the rinsing liquid with flows at high speed and washes away the rock sticking to the bottom or the chisel. Jet speeds of 120 m / s and pressure losses of 100 at in the chisel nozzles are often used. This is particularly necessary for large-diameter bores Drilling technology high additional energy consumption, and as a result of the high pump pressures great effort for the maintenance and repair of pumps, drilling rigs with pump services from 1000 to 2000 HP are already being used for deep drilling, and although one tries to To make 65% of the pump output effective in the nozzles as possible is in some Cases the drilling progress is still unsatisfactory compared to the hardness of the rock.
There are also known drill bits in which toothed rollers, with cutting edges equipped leaves and flushing nozzles are combined. At the z. B. in the French U.S. Patent 1307,849 or U.S. Patent 3,100,544 the arrangement of the tool elements is made so that of the leaves and the Roll different areas of the borehole bottom are processed. In the case of the chisel according to the French patent specification, the inner and the Chisel according to the USA patent specification of the outer part of the sole exclusively from machined the cutting edges of the sheets and the remaining part from the rollers and worn away. The leaves are arranged much lower than the rollers of the chisel. Both known types of such chisels therefore have those described Disadvantages of both the pure blade and the pure roller bit are hardly reduced Dimensions on.
The invention is based on the object of creating a chisel who combines the two principles of the blade and the roller chisel, without the existing disadvantages can occur.
This object is mentioned in claim 1, characterizing Features solved.
The plastic rock is kneaded by the teeth 1 of a chisel roller (Fig. 1b ), and the following cutting edge 2 of a chisel blade lifts the rock, which has become softer due to the deformation, from the bottom of the borehole (Fig. 1b, point 2) . The flushing jet directed at the cutting edge then only has the task of flushing the sheared off piece of rock from the chisel blade, for which only a smaller part of the energy is required than that required to flush the rock. The height of the cutting edge of the chisel blades should be approximately half the height of the teeth penetrating the rock (Fig. 1 b).
For structural reasons, the use of two diametrically opposed rollers and two diametrically arranged chisel blades seems to be the most suitable. The center of the bottom of the borehole can be detected either by a roller (FIG. 2 a) or by cutting the leaves (FIG. 2 b) . The perspective view (FIG. 3) shows the overall structure of the chisel and also the arrangement of the nozzles (number 3).
F i g. 4).The design of such combination chisels is in many variations possible, the different mountains and different drilling conditions need to be adjusted. As with the 3-cone roller bits, optimal types can only be can be determined on the basis of extensive practical experience. Possible options are mainly possible in the following way: 1. Formation of the rollers and teeth, 2. Formation of the blades and cutting edges, 3. Height of the cutting edges relative to the rollers, 4. Number, size and arrangement of the nozzles. The combination of roles and Sheets is also not based on the 2-roll, 2-sheet system described in more detail here limited, although this combination for space reasons for a full Borehole cross-section drilling chisel appears expedient. For an extension chisel, which serves to reduce an existing borehole to a considerably larger diameter to expand, the alternating arrangement of rolls and sheets becomes three, four or more pairs are cheaper (see Fig. 4).
The combination chisel has opposite the blade and roller chisels multiple advantages: 1. It is through the rollers and the side edges of the sheets well centered and gives a smooth and straight hole; 2. soft plastic Rocks can be drilled with around 50% of the hydraulic energy as with nozzle roller bits, which saves considerable costs; 3. It works as a nozzle roller bit with less load; the camps therefore last longer; 4. in harder intermediate layers z. B. sandstones penetrate only the teeth partially into the mountains, the blades of the leaves hover above the bottom of the borehole, they do not wear out and do not cause torque shocks; 5. the mountains are not washed away; the rinsing liquid is less fine-grained Solids thicken, it is easier and cheaper to condition. The scope of the combination chisel is larger than expected, as especially clay stones and clay marl stones are more plastic under high pressure than under atmospheric conditions. Of the Combination chisels are still used in medium depths, e.g. B. 2000 to 3000 m, for Drilling through clay stones can be used with good success, especially in these depths Because of the already high pressure losses in the drill string, nozzle drilling is no longer full is feasible.
