Alternativ existiert die Integration von Stromausgängen in die Integrierte Schaltung, die die Ansteuerung des Liquid Cristal Displays (LCD)s übernimmt, wie bei dem LCD-Tastenschalter Marke „ScreenKeys", FR2555511 . Die darin beschriebene Verbesserung besteht darin, daß der externe Aufwand verringert wird. Nachteilig ist jedoch, daß diese Lösung nur LEDs mit 2 unterschiedlichen Wellenlängen (1, 2) ansteuert. Eine Mischung der beiden Wellenlängen ergibt weitere Hinterleuchtungsfarben (4), die im Commission Internationale d'Eclairage (CIE)-Farbsystem alle auf der Linie zwischen den beiden eingesetzen LED-Wellenlängen liegen.
