Abstract
Description
The The invention relates to a disposable protective cap according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a protective cap is for example in WO 97/29349.
The Probe Tip An infrared ear thermometer is usually before a temperature measurement provided with a disposable protective cap after each temperature measurement to exchange for a new one. This is supposed to be a transmission of Diseases from one user to the next prevented, and also the measuring tip of the thermometer from contamination. Will be a protective cap used several times, this can lead to measurement errors, as well as barely visible Contamination of the protective cap with cerumen, which also after a Wiping the cap may still be present, the heat emanating from the ear absorb.
It Ear thermometers are also known that remove and touch down a protective cap and then a new temperature measurement allow if the protective cap has been changed. It can do it but does not prevent an already used protective cap is restarted.
Of the Invention is based on the object, a protective cap of this type in such a way that a Repeated use of the protective cap can be prevented, and one for specify such protective caps suitable infrared thermometer.
These The object is achieved by a protective cap having the features of the claim 1 solved. Suitable infrared thermometers are defined in claims 10 to 14.
Preferably are protective caps according to the invention so that they can only be used once. This can be realized by electrical means, such as an electrical circuit through a built-in infrared thermometer Polling and / or changing device queried and / or their state is changed. Suitable electrical Circuits and interrogators are described in WO 02/071970, WO 02/071971 and / or WO 02/071972, the contents of which this reference is made the subject of the present application becomes. The existing in the protective caps electrical circuit can just consist of an electrical conductor whose presence of the interrogator is recognized, and evaluated as a criterion can be that one for the Thermometer suitable protective cap was placed. The electric But circuit can also be a "day" (like in WO 02/071970, WO 02/071971 and / or WO 02/071972) exist in which, for example, a serial number and / or a information about an already used use of the protective cap is stored, read by the interrogator in the thermometer and if necessary. changed becomes. The thermometer then leaves with this cap, for example, only within a limited Period temperature measurements to or only a single or no temperature measurement An unwanted repeated use a protective cap can also be prevented by mechanical means be such as attached to the protective cap snap hooks, when removing the protective cap from the tip of the infrared thermometer destroyed become. To adapt to the different anatomy of toddlers and adults can the protective caps have different outer shapes, or accordingly elastic caps are inflated to different degrees by placing air between the protective cap and the tip of the ear thermometer is pressed. In this way, the risk of injury in toddlers be mitigated. For better visualization of dirt can the surface the cap at least partially roughened or with a corresponding structure Be provided or the cap at least partially with a thin Location cotton wool or fleece be provided.
Further advantageous developments of the invention are mentioned in the subclaims.
