Description

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a multi-dimensionally scalable tool.

In various industrial areas abrasive tools are used which have a defined arrangement of cutting articles. In addition to problems relating to a tool life cycle, abrasive tools with ordered cutting particles are in the foreground, above all in the area of fine-cut applications. However, a series production of such tools by means of known manufacturing processes is complex or associated with high production costs. In addition, current solutions are subject to geometric constraints.

This means, for example, that solution concepts are limited in their minimum possible positioning measures for abrasives due to process limits. Furthermore, no reproducible and repeatedly defined predetermined cutting particle overlap can be generated which increases a cutting efficiency of such tools.

For example, the document discloses DE 10 2009 053570 B4 a cold press process for producing a graded diamond cutting tool. Due to the use of the cold-pressing process, however, considerable limitations in the geometric xy resolution of the cutting particle positions are to be expected, as well as a resolution which can not be used in the z-direction or which can only be used to a limited extent.

A cutting tool and a method of manufacturing such a cutting tool are shown in FIG US 2011/0081848 A1 described.

US 2013/0217308 A1 betrifft selbstschärfende Schneidmittel und Verfahren zu deren Herstellung. US 2013/0217308 A1 relates to self-sharpening cutting agents and methods for their production.

Brazed diamond tools with superabrasive effect are out US 2003/0084894 A1 known.

Glasverbundwerkzeuge sind in US 2004/0185763 A1 offenbart.Glass composite tools are in US 2004/0185763 A1 disclosed.

The present invention is therefore based on the object to propose a method for producing a tool which avoids the disadvantages mentioned, with which thus abrasive particles can be easily arranged at defined positions of the tool.

This object is achieved by a method according to claim 1. Advantageous embodiments and further developments are described in the dependent claims.

In a method for producing a multilayer tool, a green part is produced by first by screen printing a recessed primary layer is made of a provided with an organic binder system primary material and subsequently introduced by stencil printing in the recesses abrasive particles. Then, a cover layer of the primary material provided with the organic binder system for fixing the abrasive particles in the recesses is applied by screen printing. The tool is finally obtained by a final heat treatment of the greens.

By using screen printing for defining and producing the recesses, the abrasive particles can be introduced in a targeted manner in the primary layer and thus in the finished tool. The spatial positions of the recesses and thus also subsequently introduced into these abrasive particles or cutting particles are therefore defined and precisely defined. Through stencil printing, these abrasive particles can continue to be easily and quickly introduced and positioned. The final cover layer finally fixes the cutting particles. The final heat treatment expels the organic binder system, which preferably has polymer binders and additives, and the primary material remains and shapes the tool.

Screen printing is to be understood here as meaning a process in which the primary material to be applied, including the admixed organic binder system, is printed through a fine mesh screen. For this purpose, the primary material and the organic binder system added to the primary material are preferably in the form of a printing paste. The screen itself typically has a shading structure layout as a coating at points which are not to be printed. In contrast, stencil printing is intended to describe a process in which only one stencil is used, ie no sieve is used.

It can be provided that the abrasive particles are applied or introduced into the recesses by doctoring. This allows a fast and safe processing of the abrasive particles. The doctoring is preferably carried out with a doctor blade or a broom squeegee. Likewise, the primary material provided with the organic binder system is typically also processed and applied or applied by screen printing by screen printing.

Typically, at least one subsequent layer is applied to the layer provided with the abrasive particles before the application of the cover layer in an intermediate step. In this subsequent layer, the recesses are usually arranged spatially offset from the recesses of the primary layer or an adjacent layer, so that the recesses of the layer already applied with the abrasive particles contained therein are filled with the primary material provided with the binder system. This makes it possible to produce optimized abrasive tools with tight positioning dimensions in three-dimensional screen printing in their spatial structure, with the positions in the three-dimensional component space being virtually freely definable. It can hereby achieve a higher concentration of abrasive particles and also generate spatially local concentrations or concentration gradients of the abrasive particles. By repeating the steps described, a multi-dimensional cutting tool can thus be produced.

In addition, it can be provided to introduce integrated, freely designable guide channels and / or cooling channels by the described method or to provide holding structures and / or fixing structures within or on the tool. As a result of the various screen printing steps, each with adjustable properties of the layer to be produced, virtually any structures in the tool can be realized.

The recesses may have a diameter between 40 .mu.m and 3 mm, preferably between 50 .mu.m and 2.5 mm, particularly preferably between 100 .mu.m and 1 mm, in order to be able to absorb typical abrasive particles. The multilayer tool produced by the method typically has a length, width and / or depth of between 3 mm and 300 mm, preferably between 10 mm and 250 mm, particularly preferably between 50 mm and 100 mm.

Alternatively or additionally, a depth of the recesses of at least 75 percent to a maximum of 100 percent of a maximum diameter of the abrasive particles can be maintained, so that the abrasive particles either disappear straight into the recesses or protrude a little way. The geometric properties of the recesses, in particular their diameter and depth, can be identical for all recesses. Alternatively, however, it can also be provided that the recesses are shaped differently and / or have different properties. Finally, it can also be provided that within a single layer, the recesses are made identical, but an adjacent layer has recesses with different dimensions and shapes.

The recesses may have openings that are circular, triangular, rectangular, polygonal, oval or free-curved. Accordingly, the abrasive particles can be shaped differently and each have different sizes. However, it can also be provided that all abrasive particles which are introduced into the green part, which is also referred to as a green compact, have the same dimensions and an identical shape. Of course, it is also possible that all abrasive particles introduced in a single layer are identical, but the abrasive particles of different layers are configured differently.

Typically stencil printing uses a stencil having a thickness of at most 30 percent of the maximum diameter of the abrasive particles in order to reliably perform stencil printing.

The abrasive particles may be formed from diamond and / or from a hard material, preferably a nitride material, an oxide material or a carbide material, particularly preferably of silicon carbide or tungsten carbide. It can be formed of an identical material, all abrasive particles used, but it can also be used in each case different materials. In addition, it is possible that all abrasive particles incorporated in a single layer are of the same material. The abrasive particles can all have an identical shape, but differently shaped particles can also be used.

The primary material may be formed of metal, with sintering, pressure sintering, free sintering, hot pressing, hot isostatic pressing and / or soldering being typically used for the final heat treatment in this case.

A multilayer tool with abrasive particles is preferably prepared by the described method. Typically, this tool is an abrasive grinding wheel, an abrasive saw blade, an abrasive cutting bead for a sawing wire or an abrasive drill bit.

In 1 is a schematic side view of a primary layer 1 made of a primary material with embedded recesses 2 shown. The primary layer 1 and the recesses 2 were prepared by screen printing by using a squeegee, a printing paste from the provided with an organic binder system primary material through a sieve 8th is printed, wherein the sieve 8th at the positions of the recesses 2 an integrated layout 9 for shading underlying areas. This can be done by a single screen printing process, but it can also be done several screen printing operations. By doctoring the primary material in the context of the screen printing process is fast and with a desired layout, the primary layer 1 produced.

The recesses 2 , which may also be referred to as cavities, cavities or channels, have a width between 40 microns and 3 mm and a distance equal to each other. In the illustrated embodiment, all recesses 2 the primary layer 1 run the same, so have an identical width and an identical depth. The illustrated embodiments have a square opening, so their maximum width is equal to their maximum length. Of course, in further embodiments, the opening may also have other shapes, such as round, or the recesses 2 can also each have different dimensions. It may also be provided that periodically repeating in the primary layer 1 identical recesses 2 are provided. Similarly, the distances between the individual recesses 2 be different in size.

2 shows in one 1 corresponding view an introduction of abrasive particles 3 made of diamond or cutting particles in the recesses 2 , Recurring features are provided with identical reference numerals in this figure as well as in the following figures. The abrasive particles 3 are triangular in cross-section in the illustrated embodiment, but may also have any other shapes. The recesses 2 have a depth that is just 75 percent of a maximum diameter of the abrasive particles 3 equivalent. The abrasive particles 3 so they stick out as soon as they get into the recesses 2 were introduced, out of these. In further embodiments, however, can also be a flush completion of the abrasive particles 3 with an opening of the recesses 2 available.

In further embodiments, the abrasive particles 3 also be formed of silicon carbide or tungsten carbide. In addition, the abrasive particles can 3 not all of a single material, but it may also be a mixture of abrasive particles 3 different materials are available.

The abrasive particles 3 are made by stencil printing in the recesses 2 brought in. This is a template 4 above the primary layer 1 placed and by a sliding squeegee 5 become the abrasive particles 3 through openings in the template 4 guided. A maximum particle size is less than or equal to a minimum stencil opening, ie the openings of the stencil 4 can all be the same, but also have different shapes or dimensions. Instead of the sliding hook 5 it is also possible to use a broom squeegee, preferably a multi-stage and / or multi-zone brush squeegee. The template 4 has a maximum thickness of 30 percent of the maximum diameter of the abrasive particles 3 on. In the illustrated embodiment, all are for the primary layer 1 used abrasive particles 3 identical, but it can also only for one layer identical particles 3 be used or different particles from each other 3 regardless of the layer used. By dry doctoring thus only the abrasive particles are 3 in the recesses 2 introduced, wherein in one of the recesses 2 exactly one of the abrasive particles 3 fits and can be dispensed with further additives.

The application of a follow-up story 7 or, if this layer to be applied is the final layer, a cover layer on the in the primary layer 1 introduced abrasive particles 3 is in 3 in a 1 corresponding schematic sectional view shown. The follow-up story 7 is in turn from the powdery or pasty and provided with the organic binder system primary material through the sieve 8th applied with integrated layout, wherein at the positions of the abrasive particles 3 the integrated layout 9 the sieve 8th closes. If the cover layer is applied as the last layer to be applied, the recesses become 2 the immediately underlying layer just filled, but no new recesses 2 more educated. Thus, in the subsequent history 7 the abrasive particles 3 embedded in the primary material and at the same time by the shaded areas, when applying the subsequent layer 7 new recesses 2 defined and trained. The follow-up story 7 or cover layer sets in this case directly to the filled primary layer 1 on, the recesses of the primary layer 1 are thus by the application of the subsequent history 7 or the cover layer closed and the abrasive particles 3 embedded and fixed in the primary layer.

The green part thus produced from the applied in layers primary material of metal or a metal alloy and the abrasive particles 3 is solidified by sintering, pressure sintering, free sintering, hot pressing, hot isostatic pressing or soldering as a final heat treatment, expelled the organic binder system and the multilayer tool, in the illustrated embodiment, an abrasive segment completed. The entire tool shown has a length of 300 mm.

4 shows in one 1 corresponding view another applied subsequent history 7 from the primary material provided with the organic binder system to the primary layer 1 in which the abrasive particles 3 are completely embedded. The follow-up story 7 is also applied by screen printing, however, the positions of the recesses 2 this follow-up story 7 and accordingly also the positions of the abrasive particles 3 spatially offset to the positions of the abrasive particles 3 in the primary layer 1 , Finally, here on the follow-up story 7 the topcoat 6 applied and the final heat treatment performed.

With the described three-dimensional screen printing both thin wall structures and small hole diameter of the recesses 2 be generated with appropriate powdered materials. With the three-dimensional screen printing method and the combination with the stencil printing method, it is possible, in addition to the structure structure, also a targeted and defined reproducible filling of hollow structures or recesses 2 to create. In this case, as described, the abrasive particles 3 with defined shape layout through the positioned template 4 in the previously printed channels, cavities or recesses 2 brought in. Following a layer of these cutting particles or abrasive particles 3 the current structure can be further printed unchanged or by layout change or by a cover layout with the cover layer 6 getting closed.

Cutting tools produced by the method described can be designed to be very free and definable. In addition to free forms, especially channels, cavities or cavities can be generated. This free design is also an integration of z. As cooling channels, guide grooves, support or integration structures during component formation possible. By changing the print layout, in particular by changing a stencil used, during the layered structure of the abrasive particles 3 becomes an adjustable offset of the abrasive particles 3 can be implemented between the individual layers or layers. This ensures that in the finished cutting tool along a wear axis at any time abrasive particles 3 be available.

In addition, process-related structural adjustments in the form of guide holes and / or -sicken can be implemented, which ensure an overlapping of different layers during the heat treatment. The abrasive particles 3 may have an adapted and narrow powder distribution curve and may be smaller than a maximum diameter of a template opening. By a stencil layout change, it is also possible, within the defined three-dimensionally ordered particle positions different abrasives, ie different materials for the abrasive particles 3 use. Furthermore, as a result of the described printing screen or stencil layout change, a local concentration or a gradation of the abrasive particles is produced 3 within the cutting tool allows.

In 5 another embodiment of the multilayer tool is shown. The tool is now ring-shaped and two-layered with a primary layer 1 and a follow-up story 7 built up. In each of the layers are the abrasive particles 3 introduced in concentration islands, ie there are regions in each of the layers, in which an increased concentration of the abrasive particles 3 is present.

These concentration islands are in each of the layers 1 and 7 offset by 90 ° to each other, the concentration islands of the primary layer 1 are, however, each 45 ° opposite the concentration islands of the next layer 7 added. Due to the layout change, both the particle concentration and the particle positions between the individual layers can be varied and gradation in the direction of construction can be achieved. On the next story 7 is typically still the topcoat 6 applied.

6 shows one 5 corresponding perspective view of a cuboid. The cuboid is in turn made up of two layers, the primary layer 1 and the follow-up story 7 , built-up, into the abrasive particles 3 are introduced in the form of concentration islands. The concentration islands of the abrasive particles 3 are periodic in the respective layer 1 and 7 arranged with the same period length, but are concentration islands in the respective layers 1 and 7 each offset by half a period to each other. In further embodiments, the concentration islands can also arbitrarily, ie in particular not periodically in the respective layer 1 and 7 arranged or it can be just one of the layers 1 or 7 Concentration islands, while the other of the layers 1 or 7 a continuous distribution of abrasive bodies 3 having. Within the concentration islands, the abrasive bodies can 3 be evenly spaced from each other, so there is a uniform distribution, but it can also be a free distribution of the abrasive body 3 present in the concentration islands.

In addition to those in the 5 and 6 shown annular or cuboid embodiments, a layer system with introduced abrasive bodies 3 but of course any other shapes, in particular spherical or cylindrical, wherein the individual layers 1 respectively. 7 may be round, oval or elliptical in their basic form.

Only features disclosed in the embodiments of the various embodiments can be combined and claimed individually.
