Abstract

The method involves representing data about finance transaction on a document, where the transaction is carried out (10) in a self-service terminal by a user. An external memory medium is connected (30) with the self-service terminal by a user, and the document is stored as an electronic document on the memory medium after completion of the transaction by the user. The data is locally stored (40) in a storage unit of the self-service terminal, and size of the locally stored data is compared with free storage volumes of the memory medium. An independent claim is also included for a cash-point dispenser with a document printer for printing a document for a user, comprising a display unit.

Aufgrund der geringen Breite und einer begrenzten Auflösung des Druckers können lediglich kleine Schriftgrößen verwendet werden, und es fehlt an Platz für ergänzende Informationen oder Werbung. Das Thermopapier ist überdies teuer, insbesondere wenn es zweifarbig oder zweiseitig bedruckt werden soll. Ferner ist die Lebensdauer des Aufdrucks sehr begrenzt und abhängig insbesondere von der Außentemperatur, der Luftfeuchtigkeit und der Lichteinstrahlung. Darüber hinaus ist auch die Umweltverträglichkeit negativ zu bewerten, da die Thermodrucker zum einen einen hohen Stromverbrauch aufweisen und das Thermopapier in der Herstellung problematisch ist.
