Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft einen zentralvenösen Katheter. The invention relates to a central venous catheter.
A central venous catheter has the task of providing access to the blood vessel system. He connects the outside world with the inside of the body. Thus, the central venous catheter at the same time establishes a connection path for microbes, through which they find access to the blood vessel system and can cause an infection in the body. This endangers the patient and poses a problem for clinical use. A central venous catheter is usually used intermittently. Stages of inflow and outflow of blood such as dialysis or inflow of drugs are followed by periods of rest in which the central venous catheter is closed at its outer, distal end. Before a resting phase, the lumen is rinsed out. Nevertheless, some blood can enter the lumen at the open proximal end and this nutrient forms a bioreactor in which microbes can multiply. On the wall of the lumen they form a biofilm. The next time the catheter is used, the microbes are flushed from the biofilm by the influx of blood or drugs into the body, causing bacteremia or even sepsis. The avoidance of this risk of infection has become the subject of many patents in which new approaches have been proposed.
In der Patentschrift „Catheter lock solution comprising citrate and a paraben”, 2006,
The patent application "Anti-clotting indwelling catheter", 2007, US 2007/0225682 A1 describes a catheter which has a balloon at the proximal end. This balloon is intended to open different lumens and not to occlude the lumen. In the resting phase, this catheter must also be filled with a lock solution. The disadvantages of a lock solution also occur here.
In dem Patent „Methods and apparatus for intravenous therapy and hyperalimention”, 1984,
In the patent application "Catheter treatment stylet", 2006, US 2006/0058737 A1, a catheter is described, in the lumen of which a body is inserted during rest periods and can deliver active substances. Again, there is a concentration boundary layer of the active ingredients as in a lock solution and the problem of the emergence of multi-resistant germs is not resolved.
In dem Patent „Vascular access devices having hemostatic safety valve”, 2003,
In dem Patent „Longterm dialysis catheter system and associated method”, 1999,
In dem Patent „Method and apparatus for locking of central-wein ctheters”, 2002,
All these catheters have in common that the formation of a bioreactor and thus the development of a biofilm in the lumen of the catheter can not be prevented.
The invention is therefore based on the object to design a central venous catheter so that a permanently infection-proof access to the blood vessel system can be created.
According to the invention, the object is achieved by a catheter which has a thin-walled and flexible lumen closure balloon, which can be filled with a liquid or a gas and arranged in the lumen of the central venous catheter. This lumen occlusion balloon, when deflated, releases the lumen, allowing infusion of infusion or outflow of blood through a port while filling and occluding the lumen when filled, with the lumen occlusion balloon closed at its proximal end and at its distal end Volumenaktuator is connected and through this emptied and fillable.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment of the catheter according to the invention, the outer diameter of the lumen closure balloon corresponds approximately to the inner diameter of the central venous catheter and thus completely fills the lumen.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, the catheter has a plurality of lumens, each having its own lumen closure balloon, which in turn are each connected to a Volumenaktuator and can be opened or closed independently.
Another embodiment of the catheter has a plurality of lumens, each having its own lumen occlusion balloon, but a volume actuator can simultaneously open or close multiple lumen occlusion balloons.
Particularly advantageous is an embodiment of the invention in which the lumen lock balloon is an integral part of the catheter.
A further embodiment of the catheter is characterized in that, in the case of several lumens, the dividing wall and the peripheries of the lumen closure balloons are designed so that the lumen closure balloon can rest against the wall of the catheter in the filled and deflated state without wrinkles.
The invention further provides an embodiment in which the volume actuator is designed to have only two stable states such that the lumen lock balloon is either deflated or filled and these states are achievable by flipping a lever in the manner of a toggle switch.
According to another embodiment of the invention, the volume actuator keeps the lumen occlusion balloon in the filled state under pressure and thus causes it to abut with a surface pressure on the inner wall of the lumen.
A particularly preferred embodiment of the invention provides that the volume which the volume actuator presses or withdraws into the lumen occlusion balloon contains a liquid or gas with biological agents that can diffuse through the membrane of the lumen closure balloon.
Another embodiment of the catheter is that it is designed as a supply line to a fully implanted port, wherein the lumen closure balloon is actuated by a likewise fully implantable volume actuator.
Es zeigen:In the following, the invention and its advantages will be explained in more detail with reference to drawings. Show it:
