Description
The The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for imaging the optical and mechanical properties of an object with light and shear forces.
in bisher unzugänglichen
The elasticity especially in cancer diagnosis has been around for a long time known, particularly meaningful Indicator. For imaging the mechanical properties of biological tissue, in particular the elasticity, Various methods are already known. Most of these However, methods have the decided disadvantage that an exact Quantification of the variables to be measured, and consequently an objective one Diagnosis is not practical. As an exception here is special to highlight the MRI elastography that already exists in the clinical setting successfully used; however, this becomes a routine use of this Procedure by the associated costs of the necessary MRI on longer View not possible be.

Diese Aufgabe wird gemäß der Erfindung gelöst mit den Merkmalen des Anspruchs 1 bzw. des Anspruchs 16.Of the Invention is now the object of the known acousto-optical and elastographic methods for optical and mechanical imaging merge an object and to improve. This object is achieved according to the invention with the Features of claim 1 or claim 16.
These Invention is based on the knowledge, the spatial resolution optical imaging using, for example, a transitory acoustic Radiance caused, directed movement of the object in the To reach focus area or optically detect this movement and for mechanical or optical characterization of the material in the focus area. This is made possible by the fact that the speckle pattern, which is followed by coherent light of a scattering medium is generated by the geometric arrangement the scattering structures is defined. One by example an acoustic pulse caused local movement, at least a part of the object to be imaged results in light, which passes through the affected region, before and during or after the movement so on different arrangements of the scattering Structures, resulting in at least partial decorrelation of the speckle pattern before and during or after the movement leads. The induced movement here differs from that in the conventional acousto-optical method used by a by orders of magnitude greater amplitude and slower temporal development and the fact that they are directed rather than of an oscillatory nature. Let go of the farther easily different from the shape of this movement mechanical properties, especially elasticity, determine what in the previously known acousto-optical method is not possible.
In a first method step of the method according to the invention becomes coherent Examining light is generated and the object thus irradiated, that at least part of the examination light in the following Process steps set in motion set area of the object. When Means of implementation This first process step can be a laser with different Downstream optical components in combination with a Freistrahleinrichtung, optical fibers or other optical Means for feeding and coupling the examination light to or into the object be provided. In a second process step, the examination light interferometrically superimposed after passing through the object. As a means for interferometric superposition of through the object running examination light, the simple Directing it to a space area in which the overlay then takes place, be provided. In a third process step becomes the thus generated interference pattern (optical speckle pattern) detected. Means of implementation This third process step preferably contains photoelectric Converter, means for reading these transducers and an evaluation unit. The detection can be as single as well as sequential detection will be realized. In a fourth method step, at least a part of the object exerted a shear force which, in at least one Part of this, a directed movement entails. Preferably this step is done using a sent into the object Transient ultrasonic pulse with predetermined carrier frequency, Amplitude and duration, which is on a focus area within the object focused, realized. As a means of sending the focused Ultrasound may be a corresponding ultrasonic transmitter, for example an electronic phase delayed controlled array of piezoelectric transducer elements, provided be. The transmitted ultrasound pulse can vary in length, but typically includes a few hundred oscillations. In one fifth and last method step, a further detection of the interference light, as already stated in step three, made and the Correlation of both patterns determines information for one or to get more pixels. To carry out this step, information technology or electronic means for numerical or logical evaluation and optical means may be provided. By moving the focus area of the ultrasound within the object can be done with this method a variety of pixels for a picture of the object can be obtained.
