Abstract
Travel planning procedures plan connections between two locations and create an optimized travel plan. In some cases, intermediate stations are considered and optimized for external circumstances and entered priorities. Changes after departure are only possible with difficulty. For the planning of more extensive trips with the need for a flexible response to changing circumstances, it was therefore the task to present a travel planning process that generates a travel plan that can be changed dynamically at any time, taking into account spontaneous change requests of travel participants and current technical and other circumstances. The solution proposed is a planning procedure, which is supplemented by the step "controlled processing of the itinerary". This new step covers the process of each remaining travel plan and ensures that all current changes in the relevant travel circumstances are continuously included in the travel planning through continuous optimization. For this purpose, the planning method can receive, among other things, in particular automatically detectable technical parameter values such as ship speed, weather data, wave and ice data etc. from corresponding systems and regularly evaluate and include them.

Travel Planning Process and also the associated ones Systems for implementing the planning procedures with the help of individual or networked computers and related equipment are well known and can be divided into different categories. It can be between pure Route planners for Routes between a start and a destination without appointment and for immediate execution, Travel planning systems of any gradation between package and Individual travel with any intermediate stations, means of transport as well as accurate scheduling and planning for special purposes with requirements for example to a rapidly changing number of participants with different start and end points or other requirements be differentiated. For Motor vehicles will take a variety of start-to-finish procedures for immediate execution offered, their optimization algorithms stored or online via telecommunication facilities retrieved local maps, Traffic restrictions in certain circumstances current traffic information, the location of the vehicle and others Can process information. from Current location can be anytime a new start-destination calculation carried out become. Optionally, by entering fixed points one at least partially certain route be enforced. Concrete travel planning with stops and stays are not possible with these systems. in the Air, rail and passenger ship traffic are complete travel plans possible, include any routes and dates. Depending on the allowed and processable criteria such as basic dates, price, etc., becomes a travel route optimized. It can in principle any complex travel concepts can be realized However, it is not always a homogeneous process, but requires in certain circumstances the orderly use of an accomplished human travel planner. The ones available to him Aids can usually only optimize specific routes on certain modes of transport or offer to choose from. For combined travel, the Start and finish dates of each section by the means of transport or the hosting providers are delimited by a People are coordinated. Once booked, they do not let themselves change more easily.

All travel planning systems or procedures can be used for two or more more destinations associated with a starting point by specifying of location data using at least geographical information a complete one Create travel plan. With the appropriate effort, the journey still scheduled and coordinated, for example, with other schedules, residence times and priorities. Farther can seasonal data and personal preferences entered and considered become. Finally, with the help of a voting procedure even more complex journeys can be partially automated be planned. All of these travel planning systems are by definition their own they only provide a planning result, the settlement but do not monitor the journey, let alone while the travel history change options Offer. Now it would be but it is desirable when complex journeys are the result of unpredictable events through constant Modification of the itinerary could be satisfactorily bypassed.

In the invention, it is a process technology for comprehensive and particularly flexible planning and at least partially simultaneous processing in many areas dynamically changeable journey. An uncoordinated journey that has not been planned in advance can be changed as desired during its course, but is hardly predictable and risky in terms of success and costs. A fully planned journey is rigidly tied to the itinerary and free of surprises only in terms of cost. However, the success is not guaranteed, since circumstances beyond control can reduce the result. The planning method according to the invention for travel design not only makes it possible to plan a trip in advance with all available means, but also to influence the journey throughout its course and the itinerary to dynamically changing requests for intermediate stations, performances from travel results, processing travel insights, coordinating appointments, environmental conditions, developing travel resources and so on. The Ertordernisse of travel, the beginning and end of which, although largely fixed, the internal structure, however, due to the flexible definition of travel purpose and their spontaneous developments on the one hand and short-term organizational, technical or environmental changes in the travel basis on the other hand even after the start of travel can vary widely not considered by traditional travel planning procedures. So far, such trips by a leading travel companion on paper or with spreadsheets programs prepared by hand, currently adapted and managed. The settlement often suffers from the lack of Time capacity of the travel companion to adequately take into account all change requirements and still maintain an optimal itinerary that does not endanger the deadline. Furthermore, an optimal distribution of information to all participants is not guaranteed, so that there may be overlaps and misunderstandings. The ertindungsgemäße method responds directly to changing conditions by intelligently considering all relevant technical parameters of at least one touring vehicle and the environment and in relation to the requirements of travel participants and travel logistics, evaluated on the basis of specifiable priorities and any of a modified and above all optimized Travel plan that can be realized within the given possibilities. The optimization takes place with regard to the tight packing and synchronization of intermediate stations, the costs and the scheduling of the journey.

The However, the intent of the planning method of the invention is quite a whole other than the known method, which is a constantly changing, but in terms of individual, itinerary itineraries quasi-rigid Network of equal points spans, for the operating requirements consist. The computer program then determines based on subscriber data single, completely different from each other independent and only randomly touching routes, to meet the operating requirements. The essential goal So the known method is to have as many participants as possible between their starting and finishing points on any number of different routes to transport. It follows that there is a maximization task for synchronization of nodes between travelers and transport willing. In contrast, the object of the planning method according to the invention to a single, but arbitrarily complex and especially dynamic variable Directed route. It is not a rigid network of points but a highly flexible single connection between two points whose course is based on completely different criteria especially must always be determined again and again. It follows that in the planning method according to the invention a unique optimization task - far from a maximization task - after a Variety of criteria to be considered intelligently and parameters exists for which it at the only apparently dynamic travel monitoring after the well-known Method of the cited document is no equivalent.
A very complex category of travel that has special requirements to the flexible travel handling, are scientific Expeditions or research trips. So far, for example while an expedition at sea, a station plan worked off in the Planning phase was created. This station plan contains the logistical boundary conditions (Outlet and destination port and supply stations) and scientific Stations. amendments have to quickly in a new station plan with an updated schedule can be implemented. Creating a station plan means gathering Data and information. from different tables and program routines. Because of this, changes are in the current journey and the station work, which is still in the to be worked-off station plan, so far with a considerable effort connected to manual labor.
The planning method according to the invention therefore works particularly advantageously if the travel planning takes into account the requirements of scientific expeditions, in particular spontaneous changes during the execution of the travel plan and the observance of highly accurate location and time information. Needless manual work is eliminated, all work steps that were previously carried out separately are summarized so that a high process dynamic is achieved. The planned itinerary can next to each have a start and finish point intermediate stations in any number. In the case of planning a scientific expedition, the intermediate stations may be stops for the use of scientific instruments. It may well happen that at a geographical location several instruments are used one after the other. For the planning process, these different tasks, also called tasks or casts, each to their own intermediate stations, even if they are located in the same place. So the planning process breaks down the itinerary with its intermediate stations to the smallest units in order to be able to make precise specifications. The claimed planning procedure also takes into account the different conditions for activities at the locations of the intermediate stations. In addition to logistical conditions such as provision of food and fuel, take-up of equipment at agreed locations, repair work, etc., the data on the activities of the intermediate stations can be the operational data of scientific instruments for scientific expeditions. The use of scientific instruments not only requires knowledge of their performance with regard to the scientific issue, but also their application boundary conditions with regard to environmental influences at the sites of use. For scientific expeditions, therefore, technical parameter values of the scientific instruments, in particular environmental boundary conditions, availability of the instruments and necessary ancillary equipment as well as mission priority, can be used throughout the itinerary to optimize the itinerary. Furthermore, it is essential for a specific travel planning to include at least one vehicle. There is no travel imaginable that does not require, in one way or another, a vehicle to travel from the starting point through the waypoints to the destination point. Therefore, it is particularly advantageous for the planning method if technical parameter values of a travel vehicle are used to optimize the travel plan. In the case of a scientific expedition, the technical parameter values may refer to a schift, in particular a research vessel, as a touring vehicle, technical vessel equipment, vessel speed, maneuverability, navigation and ground positioning under different weather conditions, icing and the environmental impact of emissions of all kinds affect.
During one scientific expedition is the one developed in the planning phase Travel plan processed. He contains in addition to the logistical boundary conditions, such as start and destination as well as Supply stations, the scientific intermediate stations. These are specific positions to be taken by the transport vehicle, for example, a research vessel, be approached to there one or more different measuring devices of different scientific To use disciplines according to the activity data. For the determination The positions of the individual intermediate stations are different Criteria. It can for example, at fixed intervals along a bottom section located, or the distances are different with regard to the topography at the measuring location selected. The itinerary also includes the time schedule. there is the timing of the expedition dependent on the ship's speed, due to weather and ice conditions along the entire Travel distance may vary. Furthermore, the timing is also dependent from the time that for the use of different measuring devices according to the activity data needed on a stopover be, where in addition to the actual measurement times also Fier- and Hievgeschwindigkeit and tread depth, that is the time spent, a scientific instrument in its planned Depth of use and recover from there, an important Role-play. For the coordination of scientific work from several different Disciplines will be as timely as possible exact itinerary needed, among other things, because science and crew in shifts work and for reasons the occupational safety rest periods must be kept. On On the other hand, the station plan needs to be changed at any time allow where e.g. additional Stations inserted be used on a station an additional device or the entire route must be changed so that the Schift to a preferred appointment reached a supply station. These changes have to Immediately and quickly in a new travel plan with an updated Scheduling can be implemented.
When creating a travel plan, hitherto completely independent tools and methods were used. For example, a computer-assisted program could be used to calculate the route, calculating the shortest distance on a great circle between two positions to be entered. This summary was then done by hand for all sections along the entire planned route, with the results recorded in a table. Then the travel time was calculated with the help of a spreadsheet. Frequently, data from previously completed travel plans has been consulted to create the new itinerary. In summary, creating a travel plan meant gathering data and information from different tables and then optimizing the itinerary, with changes in the current journey and activities at the intermediate stations resulting in the remainder of the journey plan, with a considerable amount of manual labor. With the development of the planning method according to the invention for the planning and implementation of a scientific expedition an integrated procedure is created, which summarizes the previously separate steps and thus makes the otherwise required manual work superfluous. The elimination of the elaborate manual work, the flexibility is significantly increased, since both the inhibition threshold is lowered, to make changes to the current travel plan, as well as the integrated automatic processing significantly reduces the time change effort. Furthermore, the flow of information among the participants is significantly improved and secured, thus preventing misunderstandings and incorrect work.
Of the Users of the planning method according to the invention, so for example a leader of a scientific ship expedition, lays at the beginning of the planning phase for a travel plan starting and finishing point as well as intermediate logistic stations for taking provisions and fuel through location information, ie Harbor name. All necessary information about these ports will be then one taken from the appropriate table, regardless of individual travel as Foundation exists and constantly is maintained. Subsequently he collects from the travel participants all available data for intermediate stations with geographical indications, measuring time or other activity requirement and to be used and auxiliaries. The necessary information will be also constantly maintained tables of data on measuring and experimental equipment or Tables of auxiliary equipment data, such as vessel facilities like cranes, Winches, etc., taken.
Each level of input can be from the existing information and with the further help of others in constantly maintained Tables contain information on coastal and marine geography, technical parameter values of the research vessel, e.g. speed etc. and seasonal varying meteorological conditions in the travel region a travel plan with relative timetable and itinerary to be generated. So can be particularly advantageous for optimizing the travel plan meteorological data from sources of the touring vehicle and / or from online sources be used. Furthermore, to Optimization of the itinerary current and stored geographic Data from sources of the touring vehicle and / or from online accessible Sources are used.
To Specifying an exact departure time will be the relative schedule converted into an absolute timetable for the respective planning status. Each stopover and every planned activity will be an exact one Assigned start time. The constant Comparison with the actual ship speed, which may deviate from the assumed speed leads to dynamic changes of the itinerary, possibly with new assignments of date and time Start time for the remaining intermediate stations and the activities planned there. Also for a variety of reasons necessary elimination or addition of single or entire chains of intermediate stations or activities at intermediate stations the remaining itinerary is dynamically adjusted and the remaining travel time redetermined. A technical special feature of the planning process it is when subsets of intermediate stations in any places grouped into groups and after determination of each intermediate station as start and end point one of the conditions of the other intermediate stations subjected to undistorted optimization of this part of the itinerary can be. The optimization of the entire itinerary can then be individual Intermediate stations and equal groups of intermediate stations so consider that certain demands for the order of intermediate stations deviating from a standard optimization can be guaranteed. It is therefore particularly advantageous if to optimize the travel itinerary certain groups of intermediate stations in a partial optimization held together and as a subroutine with only one initial and one Endpoint be further processed. Here is the goal of each partial optimization Minimizing the route in each subroute. Without such Partial optimization could it overlaps come in route planning, since by the superordinate criteria a other execution order of the individual stations will arise could.
The scheduling process is represented by a flowchart that can be created by a complex program (here, known programs such as "Matlab" (version 6.5) can be created using the Mapping Toolbox and a graphical user interface (GUI)) was already created with these tools a corresponding program and protected under the name "Perplex". The flow plan may be processed by at least partially computer-networked and accessible computers, taking into account other technical equipment such as weather stations, weather and communications satellites, landmarks, navigational marks, gauges and other signalers aboard the research vessel. It is therefore advantageous if, in order to optimize the itinerary, meteorological data from sources of travel risk and / or sources accessible online. For the absolute determination and presentation of the current travel plan, it is advantageous if current and stored geographical data from sources of the travel vehicle and / or from sources accessible online are used to optimize the travel plan. For the meaningful calculation of a current travel plan, the actual travel data about the start and finish points and the intermediate stations must be available in an organized, processable form. It is therefore advantageous if specific accessibility tables are accessed for the location and dates for the start point, intermediate stations and destination point. Even for a large number of different projects at the intermediate stations with their widely varying conditions, it is possible and therefore advantageous if specific tables are accessed for the activity information on the intermediate stations. Furthermore, the technical and environmental constraints on the use of scientific instruments for travel planning are important and finally all the technical parameters of the touring vehicle, such as the research vessel, such as the readiness and limitations of auxiliary facilities necessary for the use of the scientific equipment, etc. must be included which benefits from accessing specific tables for the technical parameter values of the touring vehicle and scientific instruments. For a quick and easy presentation of the current itinerary, it can be visually prepared and visually presented in the form of a map of the field of application. It is therefore advantageous if a commercially available card drawing module is used to display the travel plan for display on a screen. Such programs allow for the selective enlargement of map sections and output the information stored for this purpose when marking individual breakpoints.
It is provided and it is obvious that these are the ones with the planning procedure according to the invention to planning and handling travel not exclusively must be about research trips and / or cruises, but that allows any travel with a need for increased flexibility of itineraries while the handling of the trips can be planned and carried out.
