Abstract

Description
技术领域
本发明是2003年5月23日提交的同时待决的申请号为60/473,372的申请的部分继续申请。
本发明涉及一种使用收缩性包装膜包装物品的装置和方法,尤其是涉及一种使用预先打有孔的膜的发明。
背景技术
本领域公知可用一幅热收缩膜包装物品,以下述方式形成合装包式的包装:通过使与削弱区域相邻的膜管收缩,使得围绕间隔的物品组包裹的膜管沿着该削弱区域分离,然后再使由此形成的膜管段围绕物品收缩形成包装。具体请参见U.S.专利3,545,165。
诸如上述的现有的包装方法包括将物品组连续地(in series)送入加热通道(heat tunnel)中,并且膜从物品组的前缘到物品组的后缘包裹该物品。图1示出了在通常情况下如何完成这个操作。多个物品A形成的物品组G间隔地放置在传送机C上。膜F形成的膜层L(通常来自一卷膜)以连续覆盖相邻物品组G的方式包裹物品组G。
然后物品组G在传送机上被送入加热通道T内。如图所示,对相邻物品组之间的结合部J施加进行加热并(典型地)强制吹气,使结合部J处的膜层L软化并在各物品组之间断开,同时向物品组G收紧。这样完成物品A的包装件P,并且膜围绕包装件P收缩。包装件的合拢端E(公知为“舷窗”)位于所述包装件沿着传送机行进方向(如箭头所示)的端部。
上述装置的扩展如图2所示。在此,并行的传送机C1、C2、C3等将物品组G1、G2、G3等送入产生上述热收缩的加热通道内。这种并行设置提高了总产量。
如图1和图2所示的装置具有很多缺点。在将多个物品A汇聚成物品组G(公知为“包装样式”)的过程中,连续的膜管造成了如下所述的设计难题,即如何在围绕产品形成膜管的同时从下侧支撑这些物品组。当需要改变产品尺寸时这一问题会更为复杂。理论上,产品尺寸每改变一次,则将产品的包装样式(pack pattern)输送至加热通道的传送机C都将不得不改变其宽度,以适应围绕包装样式的膜管。
而在另一个变型中(申请人在过去曾用过),没有使用覆盖于物品组上的连续膜层,而是使用了切开的膜套(sleeve),每个物品组使用一个膜套。不过,物品组G以如下方式连续地送入加热通道T中:其中每个物品组G中的物品以下述方式取向,即膜围绕各物品组收缩成使其合拢端E(“舷窗”)的取向垂直于传送机的行进方向。为了提高产量,可将多个并行的物品流送入加热通道中。
这种装置也具有缺点。将膜切分为多个条幅(stream)会导致切分效率降低。窄的膜条幅通常比一个宽的、未切分的膜幅面更“容易拉伸”。这将改变膜的张力,从而导致切分问题以及膜的排列对齐问题。将膜切分(划分)为多个条幅还需要该装置能够引导各条幅使其彼此分开,以使这些条幅在经由加热通道加工时不会粘在一起。
因此,需要一种能解决上述问题的包装方法和装置。
当单个膜幅包裹多个平行产品流进行收缩时,其围绕所述包装件进行包裹。对该膜幅打孔并部分切分以与产品流匹配。产品可以并行流的形式送入膜收缩装置中以提高产量。同一机器通常能够运行单个大包装件流,或者多个小包装件流。可以使用单个大卷的收缩包裹膜。如果膜上印刷图形,则图案要与待加工产品流的数量相匹配。如同时待决的申请号为60/473,372的申请中在先公开的那样,在一种产品流中,对产品流之间的膜幅进行打孔,从而在产品流之间形成削弱区域。各个包装件流必然分成各个单元。包装件之间的削弱区域随着膜在加热通道中的收缩而撕开。
此时的标准是要将所述膜完全切分为用于各产品流的各膜幅。这需要横向地分开膜幅。舒展杆(spreader bar)执行这项功能。舒展杆必须针对不同的产品流样式进行调整。舒展杆对膜施加拉力,使膜幅拉伸,这可能会妨碍膜的对齐(registration)。通过对膜幅打孔而不是将其完全切开,可以消除舒展杆及其带来的所有问题。
包裹机构有时不能将膜放置在包装件的下面。当包装用的杆(wrappingwand)将膜送到包装件的顶部上时,使用摄像头(photo-eye)来检测膜是否缺失。当使用多个切分的条幅时,每个条幅都需要摄像头。当从单个幅面变为多个条幅时,摄像头必须进行调整以与各膜幅的路径对齐。当使用单个打有孔的膜幅时,如同在单张膜上进行包裹一样,这张膜将完全包裹或完全缺失。膜是否缺失可以通过一个安装在固定位置处的摄像头检测。
当包装用的杆将膜放置在产品上时,膜可能倾斜,从而不能四四方方地进行包裹。当膜的宽度与长度相比较窄时,这个问题将更为严重。
因此需要这样一种装置,其能在包裹后的物品进入膜收缩装置之前在收缩性包装膜的幅面中形成穿孔。
现已发现,位于包装件底部的膜削弱得较慢,有时会阻止包装件完全分开。这个问题可以通过在膜包裹产品之前完全切断这个区域中的膜而减少。
因此需要一种膜分切机,其能够在包裹产品之前完全切开将来位于包装件底部的膜。
U.S.专利No.5,771,662公开了一种旋转切割机,其能够贯穿热收缩膜切出横向延伸的切口和穿孔。但是,这种切割机不适于沿着膜的长度方向在热收缩膜中产生穿孔,以使膜沿着穿孔分开并向包装件收缩。
发明内容
本发明提供了一种用于对热收缩膜打孔和切割的装置。该装置由转动的打孔轮以及用于切割该膜的分切机组成,其中该转动的打孔轮具有多个锋利的齿,并且在所述齿之间具有钝部。
削弱包装件之间的膜的主要目的和优点在于使包装件具有更好的外观。
本发明的主要目的和优点在于可将同一传送机用于不同尺寸的产品以及多个产品流。
本发明的另一个主要目的和优点为,可使并行的产品包装件通过加热通道,同时使得所述并行包装件彼此粘连的风险大为降低。
本发明的另一个主要目的和优点为,在提高产量的同时简化包装装置。
本发明的另一个主要目的和优点为,其制造了从美学观点上看更令人愉悦的“舷窗”。
削弱包装件之间的膜的主要目的和优点为,可使包装件之间的膜在收缩时被支撑,从而防止膜起皱和自粘连。
本发明的另一个主要目的和优点为,通过对膜幅打孔而不是切割,可使膜相当于一张宽膜而不是多张窄膜。这将改善包装件的排列对齐。

具体实施方式
本发明在图3中示出。装置10包括传送机12,该传送机12上放置物品16的物品组14。该物品组14还包括彼此隔开的物品的包装件(pack)18。包装件18被连续的膜套(sleeve)20围住,并且在包装件18之间具有穿孔22。
物品组14以如下取向放置在传送机12上:膜套20的开口端21的方向基本上垂直于传送机12的运动方向(由箭头指示)。
传送机12将物品组14送入加热通道26中。在加热通道26内,将热的和/或强制的空气(forced air)导向穿孔22。由于膜套20在穿孔22处削弱,因此膜套20在穿孔22处断开(pinch off),然后朝向包装件18收缩。之前的开口端21变为包装件的“舷窗”。
由于物品组14的包装件18预先包裹了膜套地放置在传送机上,因此本发明消除了为了处理产品尺寸的变化而不得不改变传送机宽度的问题。也就是说,包装件18的取向垂直于传送机12的运动方向,从而不管产品的尺寸如何,均可以使用传送机12的整个宽度。
由于本发明在不需要对连续进入加热通道的膜条幅进行引导使之彼此隔开的情况下就可以达到并行,因此不需要防止并行的膜条幅在加热通道26内彼此粘住。这将减少机器的复杂性。从而,由于不需要将“舒展杆”(膜幅转动杆)调整到不同位置以将并行的膜条幅拉开,因此可提高转换(changeover)效率。另外,需要的“缺失膜”检测装置变少。由于使用的是一个穿孔的膜条,而不是两个或更多个并排的切开膜条,因此在膜上穿孔能改善“膜对齐”(印在膜上的图形)的定位(围绕包装件的周围)。此外,能更容易控制围绕包装件(膜管的长度)的“四四方方”定位或膜的定位。
在附图中本发明整体上如附图标记310所示。
本发明是用于对热收缩膜F进行打孔和切割的装置310,该装置包括:转轮320,其具有绕该转轮的周边设置的多个齿322,所述齿与热收缩膜F接合;以及膜分切机340。当膜移动经过装置310时,齿322沿着基本上与膜的运动方向平行的方向与热收缩膜接合。
齿322尖锐,用以刺入膜F,并且当其进一步穿入膜F时将该膜F切开。
齿322优选为两侧均锋利,以防止在轮320与膜F接合时膜运动(track)到一侧。
优选地,膜F与齿322连续接合的运动致使轮320转动。不过也可以使用其它设置,例如通过马达使轮独立转动(未示出)。
膜上的穿孔优选为通过在轮320上形成钝部324来形成。当钝部324与膜F接合时,膜F不会被切割。
优选地,钝部324通过在齿322之间研磨出凹口326而产生。可选地,也可以磨掉一整个的齿或多个齿。
优选地,轮具有60个齿。如果在每第二个齿或每第三、第四、第五、第六、第十、第十二、第十五、第二十或第三十个齿开设凹口,则在膜中将产生均匀的重复的穿孔图案。数60能“分解成众多因数”,其可分解成多种可能的整数组合。
优选地,轮具有切口328以减小惯性。膜的速度可能变化很快,因此轮必须易于加速以与推进该轮的膜相匹配。切口328也可以作为指孔(fingerhole),从而可以不必通过锋利的尖端来操纵该轮。
优选地,将轮设计为与光盘的尺寸近似。这样可将轮存放在常用的CD盒中。
优选地,轮安装在可拆卸的轴销(spindle pin)330上。在更换轮时,该轴销起托架的作用,从而进一步减少操纵轮的需求。当需要不同的穿孔图案时,可以调换具有不同凹口样式的轮。
膜分切机340优选地包括分切刀342。更优选地,分切刀342为普通的直的剃刀片。
膜分切机340还优选地包括致动器350,该致动器350使分切刀342向膜F延伸。更优选地,致动器350为气缸352。
控制该气缸352,使其仅在当包装结束时位于整个包装件底部的膜区域内延伸。
优选地,分切刀342设置为与打孔轮320具有相同的路径。

2.如权利要求1所述的装置,该装置还包括与该膜接合的膜分切机。
