Abstract

Description
本发明涉及适合于提供具有低摩擦表面的涂层的水性涂料组合物。此外,本发明涉及适合于提供具有对低能表面如未处理的乙烯-丙烯-二烯(EDPM)橡胶的改进粘合力的涂层的水性涂料组合物。更尤其是,本发明涉及包括包括聚氨酯聚合物、交联剂、增滑助剂、润湿助剂和UV抑制剂的水性涂料组合物。还有,本发明涉及将该水性涂料组合物施涂到基材上的方法。此外,本发明涉及含有从水性涂料组合物形成的涂层的制品。水性涂料组合物可用于提供用于汽车挡风雨条(weatherstrip)的具有低摩擦表面的防护涂层。
本发明提供了具有低摩擦表面的涂层。这里使用的低摩擦表面是指具有低摩擦系数的表面。在包括例如用于汽车的挡风雨条的涂层的许多应用中,具有低摩擦表面的涂层是理想的。在汽车中的挡风雨条可以用于提供在汽车车体中两个组件之间的密封。例如,提供在窗户玻璃以及门框之间的密封的挡风雨条一般具有低摩擦表面的涂层以便在最小阻力的情况下降低或升高窗户玻璃。在挡风雨条上的涂层也提供了对来自窗户玻璃的移动的磨损所产生的降解的抵抗性。此外,在挡风雨条上的涂层还必须在宽范围内温度保持柔性以便在-40℃的温度下提供密封。
U.S.专利5,115,007公开了用于制备在EPDM橡胶上的耐磨损、低摩擦涂层的涂料组合物。公开的涂料组合物包括含有封闭异氰酸酯基的封闭聚氨酯预聚物,与封闭异氰酸酯基共反应的交联剂,相容性硅油,和非反应性溶剂如甲苯。将涂料组合物施涂于基材上,然后固化以形成含有聚氨酯聚合物的涂层。该涂料组合物可以施涂于EPDM橡胶上,不用预先施涂底漆或进行EPDM橡胶的表面处理。然而,该参考文献没有公开含有聚氨酯聚合物的水性组合物。
含有有机溶剂的涂料组合物的使用能够导致有机溶剂释放到大气中和工人接触到有机溶剂。水基涂料组合物对于制备适合作为挡风雨条的涂层的抗磨损、低摩擦涂层是理想的,而且,它可以施涂于未处理的EPDM橡胶上。
本人已经发现了水基涂料组合物,它提供了具有低表面摩擦的耐磨损涂层和适合于施涂到EPDM橡胶上。此外,该水性涂料组合物可以施涂到未处理的EPDM橡胶上,以提供对未处理的EPDM橡胶具有良好粘合力的涂层。
在本发明的第一个方面,提供了水性涂料组合物,它包括基于水性涂料组合物重量的:10-70wt%的至少一种聚氨酯聚合物,其中聚氨酯聚合物含有至少两个羧酸基;1-60wt%的至少一种交联剂;0.01-4wt%的至少一种润温剂;0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂;和0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂。
在本发明的第二个方面,提供了制备涂敷基材的方法,包括以下步骤:制备含有以下成分的水性涂料组合物:10-70wt%的至少一种聚氨酯聚合物,其中聚氨酯聚合物含有至少两个羧酸基;1-60wt%的至少一种交联剂;0.01-4wt%的至少一种润湿剂;0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂;和0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂;将水性涂料组合物施涂于基材上;干燥水性涂料组合物或使其自身干燥以提供预交联涂敷基材;和固化预交联涂敷基材或使其自身固化以提供涂敷基材。
在本发明的第三个方面,提供了包括含有基材和涂层的涂敷基材的制品,该涂层由含有以下组分的水性涂料组合物制备:10-70wt%的至少一种聚氨酯聚合物,其中聚氨酯聚合物含有至少两个羧酸基;1-60wt%的至少一种交联剂;0.01-4wt%的至少一种润湿剂;0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂;和0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂。
本发明的水性涂料组合物含有聚氨酯聚合物,交联剂,润湿剂,增滑助剂和UV稳定剂。水性涂料组合物可以施涂于未处理的EPDM橡胶和提供了耐用的低摩擦涂层。
在本发明的水性涂料组合物中含有的聚氨酯聚合物包括脂族聚氨酯聚合物和芳族聚氨酯聚合物。聚氨酯聚合物含有羧酸基以提供适合与交联剂的官能团反应的反应性结构部分。聚氨酯聚合物必须含有提供充分交联的最低水平的羧酸基以便获得具有充足耐久性的涂层。在聚氨酯聚合物中过度水平的羧酸基会不利地影响由含有聚氨酯聚合物的涂料组合物制备的涂层的耐湿性。适合于本涂料组合物的聚氨酯聚合物可以含有以酸值在5-50范围内,优选在10-40范围内,以及更优选在20-40范围内为特征的羧酸含量。此外,聚氨酯聚合物可以具有在20,000-2,000,000以上的范围,优选在50,000-2,000,000以上的范围,和更优选100,000-2,000,000以上的范围的重均分子量,即Mw。聚氨酯聚合物可以是水性分散体的形式,它含有平均直径在20nm-1,000nm的范围内,优选在30nm-500nm范围内,更优选在40nm-300nm范围内的聚氨酯聚合物颗粒。含有聚氨酯聚合物颗粒的水性介质也可含有水混溶性有机溶剂,如1-甲基-2-吡咯烷酮和甲基乙基酮。优选的是,含有聚氨酯聚合物的水性分散体不含有有机溶剂。水性涂料组合物可以含有10-70wt%,优选20-60wt%,和更优选30-50wt%聚氨酯聚合物,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。
本发明的水性涂料组合物还含有交联剂。交联剂是含有能够与聚氨酯聚合物的羧酸基反应的至少两个官能团的聚合物或非聚合物。适合的官能团包括环氧化物,噁唑啉,蜜胺,碳化二亚胺和在水中稳定的异氰酸酯如封闭异氰酸酯。优选的官能团是噁唑啉和蜜胺。最优选的是噁唑啉作为官能团。适合作为交联剂的具有侧挂官能团的聚合物的骨架包括丙烯酸酯、甲基丙烯酸酯、苯乙烯丁二烯、苯乙烯丙烯酸酯和氯乙烯。含有至少两个官能团的非聚合物包括例如苯基缩水甘油醚、蜜胺单体和二环氧化合物。交联剂可以是净固体或液体,或者另外可以被溶解或分散在有机溶剂或含水介质中。优选的交联剂是可溶于或分散于水中的净固体或液体。其它优选的交联剂是具有噁唑啉、环氧化物或封闭异氰酸酯基的聚合物的水性分散体。在一个实施方案中,交联剂是含有噁唑啉基的苯乙烯-丙烯酸系共聚物的水性分散体。本发明的水性涂料组合物含有1-60wt%,优选3-45wt%,和更优选5-35wt%交联剂,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。
在本发明的水性涂料组合物中,在聚氨酯聚合物中含有的羧酸基的数目与在交联剂中含有的官能团的数目的比率是在10∶1-1∶10的范围内,优选在5∶1-1∶5的范围内,和更优选在3∶1-1∶3的范围内。
水性涂料组合物的另一组分是润湿剂。润湿剂降低水性涂料组合物的表面张力,以增加水性涂料组合物在施涂过程中润湿基材(尤其具有低能表面的基材)的表面的能力。对于润湿剂在水中的0.01wt%溶液,这里所使用的润湿剂降低水的表面张力高于1达因/厘米。适合的润湿剂包括硅氧烷表面添加剂如聚硅氧烷,包括聚醚改性的聚二甲基聚硅氧烷,聚酯改性的聚二甲基硅氧烷;含氟表面活性剂如ZonylTM含氟表面活性剂(Zonyl是E.I.du Pont de Nemours and Co.的商标);以炔属醇、二元醇和乙二醇化学性为基础的表面活性剂如SurfynolTM 61表面活性剂和DynolTM 604表面活性剂(Surfynol和Dynol是Air Products andChemicals,Inc.的商标)和它们的混合物。水性涂料组合物可以含有0.01-4wt%,优选0.1-4wt%,更优选0.5-4wt%润湿剂,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。
本发明的水性涂料组合物还含有0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。增滑助剂可以分散或溶解于水性涂料组合物的水相中。增滑助剂有助于降低由水性组合物制备的涂层的表面的摩擦。这里使用的具有低摩擦的表面具有通过ASTM D 1894测量的对玻璃的值为3或3以下的动态摩擦系数。水性涂料组合物优选提供了具有低摩擦表面的涂层。优选的是,从该水性涂料组合物制备的涂层的表面具有值为1.5或1.5以下的摩擦系数,更优选值为1.1或1.1以下的摩擦系数。
各种增滑助剂适合用于水性涂料组合物中,包括蜡、硅氧烷添加剂,氟化添加剂和它们的混合物。适合的蜡包括聚乙烯蜡,聚丙烯蜡和链烷烃蜡。在一个实施方案中,水性涂料组合物含有氧化聚烯烃蜡,如通过在US6,169,148中公开的方法制备的那些。适合的硅氧烷添加剂包括聚硅氧烷,改性聚硅氧烷如聚醚改性的聚二甲基聚硅氧烷,聚酯改性的聚二甲基聚硅氧烷;羟基官能硅氧烷。适合的氟化添加剂包括聚四氟乙烯蜡或含有聚四氟乙烯蜡的共混物如Fluo HT(Micro Powders,Inc.),AquaPolysilk 19蜡(Micro Powders,Inc.),和Microspersion HT(MicroPowders,Inc.)。蜡、硅氧烷添加剂和氟化添加剂可以作为溶液、分散体或乳液如阴离子蜡乳液、阴离子链烷烃/聚乙烯乳液或作为粉末如聚乙烯粉末和改性合成蜡粉末提供。可以使用蜡、硅氧烷添加剂和氟化添加剂的结合物或混合物以提供具有低摩擦表面和其它所需性能的涂层。
从水性涂料组合物制备的涂层的外界使用导致曝露于紫外光(UV),特别具有低于380nm波长的光,这会降低涂层的耐久性。为了保护由本发明的涂料制备的涂层不受有害UV光的破坏,水性涂料组合物还含有紫外光稳定剂,这里称之为“UV稳定剂”。UV稳定剂是能够减少或消除UV光对涂层的有害影响的物质。UV稳定剂可以吸收、散射或反射UV光。UV稳定剂可以是UV吸收分子如位阻胺,取代的羟苯基苯并三唑,苯并三唑,二苯酮,取代的丙烯腈,或者酚-镍复合物;或者颜料如炭黑或二氧化钛。其它适合的颜料包括含有空隙和囊泡的固体珠粒和微球形颜料。固体珠粒颜料的实例包括聚苯乙烯和聚氯乙烯珠粒。微球形颜料的实例包括含有一个或多个空隙的聚合物颗粒和有囊泡聚合物颗粒,它们公开在U.S.4,427,835;U.S.4,920,160;U.S.4,594,363;U.S.4,469,825;U.S.4,468,498;U.S.4,880,842;U.S.4,985,064;U.S.5,157,084;U.S.5,041,464;U.S.5,036,109;U.S.5,409,776;和U.S.5,510,422中。本发明的水性涂料可以含有0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂,优选0.02-15wt%的UV稳定剂,和更优选0.03-10wt%的UV稳定剂,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。
水性涂料组合物可以任选含有颜料。水性涂料组合物可以含有0-25wt%颜料,优选0.5-15wt%的颜料,和更优选1-10wt%的颜料,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。适合的颜料包括炭黑;二氧化钛;铁颜料如固体氧化铁;氧化锑颜料;钡颜料;钙颜料;锆颜料;铬颜料;镁颜料;铅颜料;硫化锌;锌钡白;酞菁蓝(phthalo blue);酞菁绿(phthalogreen);金属颜料如铝;珠光颜料;乳光颜料;虹彩颜料;和塑料颜料如含有空隙和囊泡的固体珠粒和微球形颜料。
任选的是,可以将平光剂加入到水性涂料组合物中以提供具有低水平光泽度的涂层。水性涂料组合物可以含有0-20wt%平光剂,优选0.5-15wt%平光剂,和更优选1-10wt%平光剂,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。适合的平光剂包括硅石、滑石、陶瓷、粘土、重金属皂、硅藻土、玻璃球、和它们的混合物。在一个实施方案中,水性涂料组合物含有2-10wt%的硅石平光剂,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。
水性涂料组合物可以任选含有催化剂以促进在聚氨酯聚合物的羧酸基和交联剂的官能团之间的交联反应。可以在混合步骤中将催化剂加入到水性涂料组合物中以制备水性涂料组合物或者可以在即将施涂到基材之前加入到水性涂料组合物中。
水性涂料组合物的固体含量一般是在20-50wt%固体的范围内,基于水性涂料组合物的重量。可以制备具有高含量固体的水性涂料组合物,以具有高固体含量的组分的可获得性和施涂所需的粘度为条件。也可以使用低于20wt%的固体含量,但需要蒸发大量的水以干燥水性涂料组合物。
水性涂料组合物的pH一般是在6.5-10的范围内,优选在7-9的范围内,和更优选在8-9的范围内,以增加聚氨酯聚合物在水性涂料组合物中的稳定性和使在施涂之前的聚氨酯聚合物的羧酸基和交联剂之间的交联反应减至最小。可以使用挥发性碱来调节水性涂料组合物的pH。适合的挥发性碱包括氨水、低级烷基胺,三乙醇胺,2-二甲氨基乙醇,N-甲基吗啉,乙二胺和吗啉。
水性涂料组合物可以任选含有普通涂料助剂如杀生剂、聚结剂、填料、流变学改性剂或增稠剂、表面活性剂、缓冲剂、中和剂、冻融添加剂、湿边助剂、湿润剂、防沫剂、分散剂和抗氧化剂。
水性涂料组合物可以通过在混合的同时合并各种组分来制备。组分的添加次序不是重要的。在各种组分的混合步骤中,混合物的pH优选保持在6.5或6.5以上的值。PH可以通过添加酸或碱来调节。优选的是,pH用挥发性碱来升高。
可以用该水性涂料组合物涂敷各种基材,包括塑料、弹性体、橡胶、木材、金属、纸、混凝土、砖石建筑、混凝土、皮革和纺织品。水性涂料组合物尤其适合于涂敷弹性体或橡胶基材如橡胶,包括丙烯腈橡胶、丁基橡胶、氯丁二烯橡胶、氯磺化聚乙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯-二烯橡胶、卤丁基橡胶、卤化丁腈橡胶、异戊二烯橡胶、天然橡胶、氯丁橡胶、丁腈橡胶、聚丙烯酸系橡胶;聚氨酯弹性体;热塑性弹性体如聚酰胺嵌段共聚物、聚酯嵌段共聚物、聚苯乙烯嵌段共聚物、聚氨酯嵌段共聚物和聚丙烯/乙烯-丙烯共聚物共混物;热塑性聚烯烃;聚硫化物;环氧丙烷聚合物;表氯醇聚合物;和磷腈含氟弹性体。基材优先选自氯磺化聚乙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯-二烯橡胶、卤化丁腈橡胶、热塑性弹性体、热塑性聚烯烃、环氧丙烷聚合物或表氯醇聚合物。乙烯-丙烯-二烯橡胶是特别优选的基材。
具有低能表面的基材如EPDM一般通过施涂底漆涂料、曝露于UV光、电晕放电或等离子体进行预处理以增加表面能。本发明的组合物可以施涂于具有预处理表面的基材或具有未处理的低能表面的基材。在一个实施方案中,水性涂料组合物施涂于没有预处理的低能表面。
普通施涂方法,如刷涂、辊涂、刮涂、浸涂、幕涂、和喷涂法,如空气雾化喷涂、空气助推喷涂、元气喷涂、高容积低压力喷涂和空气助推无气喷涂可以在本发明的方法中使用。所施涂的水性涂料组合物的湿涂层厚度可以是5um-150um。水性涂料组合物可以作为单一涂层或多涂层施涂到基材上。优选的是,施涂单一涂层的水性涂料组合物。所施涂水性涂料组合物可以通过加热来干燥,或作为选择,可以任凭所施涂的水性涂料组合物自己干燥。可以使用对流、传导和辐射加热法干燥水性涂料组合物的湿涂层。干燥所施涂的水性涂料组合物的适合温度是10-120℃。包括水性涂料组合物的干燥涂层的基材被称为“预交联的涂敷基材”,可以通过加热预交联的涂敷基材来固化以提供本发明的涂敷基材。适合于交联的温度包括在20-300℃范围内的温度。交联用的加热时间可以根据交联剂的类型、涂层的厚度和交联温度来变化。交联用的典型加热时间可以在低于1分钟到大于1小时的范围内。另外,所施涂的水性涂料组合物可以同时进行干燥和交联。
在一个实施方案中,将水性涂料组合物施涂到包括EPDM橡胶的弹性体基材上,干燥,和交联。涂敷的弹性体基材可用作车辆如小汽车和卡车的挡风雨条。涂敷弹性体基材的其它用途包括家用挡风雨条、工业挡风雨条、挡风玻璃刮水器刮片和各种制品如行李的垫片或垫圈。
实施例1-水性涂料组合物的制备
通过混合在表1.1列举中的物质来制备本发明的水性涂料组合物,同时通过添加氨水保持6.5以上的pH。水性涂料组合物具有42%的固体含量和8.0的pH。

实施例2-水性涂料组合物的施涂和测试
通过用绕线式刮漆棒刮涂,将实施例1的水性涂料组合物施涂于未处理的15cm×15cm模塑EPDM橡胶基材上。温涂层厚度是75um。干燥样品,在245℃固化2分钟以提供本发明的涂敷基材。
根据以下试验方法评价涂敷基材的性能。
根据甲苯往返擦洗试验SP TP88(Standard Products)评价涂敷基材的耐久性。在固化后24小时测试涂敷基材。可接收的耐久性是200个或高于200个循环的值。
根据Ford WSB-M2D49A2试验评价涂敷基材的低温柔韧性。涂敷基材暴露于-40℃的温度达16小时。可接收的低温柔韧性是没有裂缝或丧失粘合力。
测定摩擦系数的试验方法是ASTM D 1894。
由实施例1的水性涂料组合物制备的涂敷基材具有以下试验结果:
耐久性试验 200个循环
低温柔韧性试验 通过
摩擦系数试验 0.3
试验结果显示,本发明的水性涂料组合物提供了具有耐久性、在低温下的可接收的柔韧性和低摩擦表面(以低于3的摩擦系数来表征)的基材。水性涂料组合物具有对未处理的EPDM橡胶,即低能表面的良好的粘合力。
Claims (10)
1、水性涂料组合物,包括基于所述水性涂料组合物的重量的:
(a)10-70wt%的至少一种聚氨酯聚合物,其中所述聚氨酯聚合物含有至少两个羧酸基;
(b)1-60wt%的至少一种交联剂;
(c)0.01-4wt%的至少一种润湿剂;
(d)0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂;和
(e)0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂。
2、根据权利要求1的水性涂料组合物,其中所述聚氨酯聚合物具有在5-50范围内的酸值。
3、根据权利要求1的水性涂料组合物,进一步包括0.5-20wt%的平光剂。
4、根据权利要求1的水性涂料组合物,其中所述交联剂含有噁唑啉基。
5、制备涂敷基材的方法,包括以下步骤:
a)制备含有以下成分的水性涂料组合物:
i)10-70wt%的至少一种聚氨酯聚合物,其中聚氨酯聚合物含有至少两个羧酸基;
ii)1-60wt%的至少一种交联剂;
iii)0.01-4wt%的至少一种润湿剂;
iv)0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂;和
v)0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂;
b)将所述水性涂料组合物施涂于基材上;
c)干燥所述水性涂料组合物或使其自身干燥以提供预交联涂敷基材;和
d)固化所述预交联涂敷基材或使其自身固化以提供所述涂敷基材。
6、权利要求5的方法,其中所述基材选自氯磺化聚乙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯-二烯橡胶、卤化丁腈橡胶、热塑性弹性体、热塑性聚烯烃、环氧丙烷聚合物和表氯醇聚合物。
7、权利要求5的方法,其中所述涂敷基材具有3或3以下的摩擦系数。
8、包括涂敷基材的制品,所述涂敷基材包括:
a)基材;和
b)通过包括以下组分的水性涂料组合物制备的涂层:
i)10-70wt%的至少一种聚氨酯聚合物,其中聚氨酯聚合物含有至少两个羧酸基;
ii)1-60wt%的至少一种交联剂;
iii)0.01-4wt%的至少一种润湿剂;
iv)0.1-15wt%的至少一种增滑助剂;和
v)0.01-20wt%的UV稳定剂;
9、根据权利要求8的制品,其中所述基材选自氯磺化聚乙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯橡胶、乙烯-丙烯-二烯橡胶、卤化丁腈橡胶、热塑性弹性体、热塑性聚烯烃、环氧丙烷聚合物和表氯醇聚合物。
10、根据权利要求8的制品,其中所述涂敷基材具有3或3以下的摩擦系数。
