Abstract

Description
本发明涉及一种可剥离和密封的热塑性膜。更具体地说,本发明涉及一种在内层与密封层之间夹有一层可分离的中间层的热塑性膜,它能使内层从密封层剥离出来。
可剥离膜结构物在1996年2月15日公布的WO 96/04178中有叙述。该膜结构物具有由烯烃聚合物组成的芯层和由低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)和与LDPE不相容的物质(如烯烃聚合物,或者乙烯、丙烯或丁烯的共聚物或三元共聚物)的共混料组成的可热封层。可将该膜结构物热封至塑料容器上,形成容器的盖子,或者,可将该膜结构物与其自身热封,形成包装袋。上述专利申请还揭示,当与塑料容器合用时,该膜结构物可方便地从容器上剥离以将容器打开。
美国专利No.5,358,792则描述了这样一种可热封组合物,它包含(a)30-70重量%的由极低密度的以乙烯为基的共聚物〔其可定义为,密度在0.88-0.915g/cm3之间,熔体流动指数在1.5-7.5dg/min之间,分子量分布(Mw/Mn)不超过3.5〕组成的低熔点聚合物;和(b)70-30重量%的以丙烯为基的聚合物。

本发明的目的是,提供一种具有包括密封层在内的至少三层的热塑性膜,所述密封层可与其自身热封或热封在其它表面上,但它可使密封层与膜的其它的至少一个层分离。
本发明的一个特征是,当将由内层和密封层组成的多层膜与其自身封合或封合于另一面时,可将密封层与膜的其它层分离。
本发明涉及一种具有以下构成的可密封膜:
(a)由烯烃聚合物构成的内层;
(b)在内层的至少一面上的密封层,通常为皮层;和
(c)位于内层与密封层之间的可分离层,该可分离层包含(1)乙烯-丙烯共聚物,具体地说,是嵌段聚合物;或(2)聚乙烯和可与该聚乙烯形成不相容的共混料或混合物的另一种烯烃,该另一种烯烃可以是(i)聚丙烯均聚物或(ii)乙烯-丙烯共聚物,具体地说,是嵌段共聚物。聚合物可通过本领域已知的任何催化技术(例如Ziegler-Natta催化、茂金属催化等)进行制造。
在内层与可密封层之间夹入可分离层,能使可密封膜中的内层从可密封层剥离而基本上不会破坏内层或可密封层。
可分离层通常由与膜的可密封层和内层复合时可在其自身与内层之间产生微弱结合的物质和/或可密封层组成,这样,施加在密封膜上的应力可促进可分离层而不是可密封层或内层的物质断裂。在另一个实施方式中,可分离层的粘接强度小于可密封层或内层,从而可使可分离层在可密封层或内层两者之前断开。此处所用的“剥离物质”一词覆盖包含于可分离层中的可形成膜层的一类物质,所述物质可使复合膜的密封层和内层在应力作用下作为基本上完整的层彼此分离。
通常,所述剥离物质包含至少一种烯烃聚合物。剥离物质的例子包括那些选自下述烯烃聚合物的物质:乙烯-丙烯共聚物或各种聚乙烯和另一种可与该聚乙烯形成不相容的共混料或混合物的烯烃的共混料,具体地说,可以是(i)聚丙烯均聚物或(ii)乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物。通常,聚乙烯选自低密度聚乙烯、高密度聚乙烯、线性低密度聚乙烯、中密度聚乙烯、这些聚乙烯及其共混料的茂金属催化产物。“聚乙烯”一词包括含乙烯的均聚物、共聚物或三元共聚物。共聚单体可以是C3-C8烯烃。由茂金属催化剂产生的合适的超低密度聚乙烯可定义为:密度在0.88-0.915g/cm3之间,熔体流动指数在1.5-7.5dg/min之间,作为DSC峰Tm而测得的熔点在60-115℃之间。
含剥离物质的市售产品的具体例子有Himont公司销售的名称为“8523”的乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物;Exxon公司销售的名称为“LL3001”的线性低密度聚乙烯;Exxon公司销售的名称为“SLP 9045”的茂金属催化的塑性体乙烯-己烯共聚物;Oxychem销售的名称为“M6211”的高密度聚乙烯;Chevron公司销售的名称为“PE1019”的线性低密度聚乙烯和Exxpol销售的名称为“2009”的茂金属催化的聚乙烯。
低密度聚乙烯可定义为密度在0.91-0.925g/cm3之间的乙烯聚合物。高密度聚乙烯可定义为密度在0.941-0.965g/cm3之间或更大的乙烯聚合物。中密度聚乙烯可定义为密度在0.926-0.940g/cm3之间的乙烯聚合物。
可分离层中聚乙烯的比例可在一个宽的范围内变化。通常,该层所含的聚乙烯占可分离层的烯烃聚合物总重量的20-80%。更经常的是,聚乙烯的量占可分离层的烯烃聚合物总重量的30-70%。
膜的任何一个层可含丙烯均聚物组分,该丙烯均聚物可以主要是全同立构的、间同立构的或无规立构的,并可包括丙烯均聚物的前述形式的任一种的共混料。通常,可分离层含占可分离层的烯烃聚合物总重量的70-80%的全同立构聚丙烯或70-80%的间同立构聚丙烯。有用的市售聚丙烯是Fina公司销售的“3371”。
当可分离层是乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物时,共聚物含占共聚物总重量的3-25%的乙烯。在一般意义上,“嵌段共聚物”一词是指其分子是由被不同烯烃(如丙烯或聚丙烯)的节段隔开的乙烯或聚乙烯的交替节段构成的聚合物。
在本发明的一个方面,可分离层是乙烯均聚物或共聚物与另一种烯烃均聚物或共聚物的共混料。在该方面,可分离层的组合通常(但不限于)选自(a)线性低密度聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;(b)高密度聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;(c)低密度聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;(d)茂金属催化的聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;和(e)线性低密度聚乙烯与乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物的共混料。二种聚合物的比例可以是任意的,但可通过常规实验对共混料的比例进行选择以符合光学透明度的目的。
膜结构物包括内层,它是膜结构物的最里面的部分。内层可以是单层或多层。通常,有一个芯层和一个或多个与芯层邻接(即,在芯层与可分离层之间)的中间层。内层通常含烯烃聚合物,如聚丙烯或聚乙烯。一般而言,内层的聚丙烯主要是全同立构的、间同立构的或无规立构的。然而,它可含占内层的聚丙烯的总重量的80%以上的全同立构聚丙烯或占内层的聚丙烯的总重量的80%以上的间同立构聚丙烯。

密封层的茂金属催化的乙烯均聚物、共聚物或三元共聚物可以与可分离层的相同,其条件是,这二个层是不同的且具有可分离性。
可在密封层上施用涂料以利于膜与其自身封合或封合于另一膜表面上。合适的涂料的例子包括丙烯酸类共聚物、聚偏二氯乙烯或乙烯-丙烯酸共聚物等。
本发明还涉及一种制造可密封膜的方法,该方法包括以下步骤:(a)制造烯烃内层;(b)将烯烃内层与可分离层共挤出,该可分离层包含至少一种选自下述烯烃聚合物的物质:(1)乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物或(2)聚乙烯和可与该聚乙烯形成不相容的共混料或混合物的另一种烯烃,该另一种烯烃可以是(i)聚丙烯均聚物或(ii)乙烯-丙烯共聚物;和(c)在可分离层的表面上施加可密封层。该方法还可包括用选自丙烯酸类共聚物、聚偏二氯乙烯或乙烯-丙烯酸聚合物的涂料组合物涂布外层的步骤。
可分离层的厚度会很重要。一般而言,取决于可分离层的材料,可分离层可占膜的总厚度的至少20%,较好的占30-50%。例如,在10-80μm(具体地,为15-35μm)的膜中和当可分离层例如是乙烯嵌段共聚物或乙烯聚合物与聚丙烯的共混料时,可分离层的厚度应在5-15μm之间,具体地,为7-12μm。
膜的一个或多个层(但通常是暴露面层)可含小量的微细无机物质,该无机物质可赋予结构物抗粘连特性和减小摩擦系数。可使用的微细无机物质包括合成无定形二氧化硅(如硅石)、硅藻土和粘土。可使用有效量的增滑剂。典型的增滑剂选自交联的羟基取代的聚硅氧烷颗粒。
用本领域技术人员公知的成膜技术将本发明的树脂形成为多层膜。通常,用扁平模头将树脂流延挤出或共挤出成膜或用管形模头挤出吹胀或共挤出。然后,通常用已知的拉伸技术将膜单轴或双轴定向。可密封层可通过共挤出或挤出涂布施行。在本发明的一个实施方式中,在纵向上将膜定向后,将可密封层挤出涂布在可分离层上,然后在横向上将膜定向。
实施例
在下面的各实施例中,用下述聚烯烃树脂生产共挤出的双轴取向薄膜。这些膜是用以下方法制得的多层共挤出膜:将聚合物在245-290℃熔融,通过缝形模头将聚合物挤出成片材形,然后将膜在纵向上定向(3-8倍,在100℃)并在横向上定向(5-12倍,在160℃)。
在接下来的实施例中,用可密封层将膜封合。通过尝试将封口拉开来测试可分离层的性能。在各实施例中,试验装置可将封口开启而不会使膜拉断,这表明可分离层具有有效的性能。
对膜的可密封性进行测试以确定可分离层不会对可密封性或封合强度产生不良影响。评价封合强度以测定膜的可密封性。在实施例中,用J或K型辅助包装卷曲热合机测定最小封合温度。在该测试方法中,将卷曲热合机的模头压力设定为约20psi(138kPa),停留时间设定为0.75秒。制备一个膜试样,使该膜试样的二个表面放置在一起时,其在横向上约为6.35cm,在纵向上约为7.62cm。然后将该试样成直角地、平稳地和平直地插入卷曲热合机夹头中,使试样从夹头的后端少许伸出。膜的横向与热合机夹头平行。使夹头闭合,在封合刀升起后立即将试样从热合机夹头中取出。用Alfred-Suter卷曲封合强度试验装置测定将封口打开所需的力的大小。将封口打开所需的力的大小用N/m表示。为测定形成需要77.03N/m剥离力的封口而所需的最小温度,阶梯式地将温度每次提高2.8℃并在各提高了的各温度形成卷曲封口,直至一个温度产生小于77.03N/m的封合值和接下来的一个温度产生大于或等于77.03N/m的封合值。
用图表法(使用已建立的图表)或通过计算算出形成77.03N/m剥离力的封口而所需的最小封合温度(MST)。在计算方法中,使用下列方程式:
〔{(77.03N/m-V1)÷(V2-V1)}×(2.8)〕+T1=MST(℃)
其中,
V1=在达到77.03N/m之前得到的封合值
V2=在达到77.03N/m之后得到的封合值
2.8=2.8℃的封合温度增量
T1=在达到77.03N/m之前的温度
在一些实施例中,用以下方法测试封合强度:使密封面接触,用ASKO热合机在温度为210°F(99℃)、停留时间为2秒钟、压力为5psi(34kPa)的条件下形成封口。然后通过测定用Instron张力试验仪将封合的膜拉开所需的力(g/英寸)来测试封合强度。
对于包装薄膜的应用而言,通常将没有可分离层的膜从头撕开以打开包装袋,尤其当膜封口处的强度大于膜时。当有可分离层时,无需将膜撕破即可打开包装袋,因为在将包装薄膜封合以使包装袋的内容物封入的区域有可分离层,它可使封口分开而无需将膜撕破。可分离层的优点是,可用普通的封合材料来将膜封合,这样,不会影响到封合材料的所需性能(如封合强度和热粘性)而膜仍是可剥离的。实施例I

Claims (8)
1.一种可密封膜,它具有:
(a)由烯烃聚合物构成的内层;
(b)密封层;和
(c)位于内层与密封层之间的可分离层,该可分离层包含(1)乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物;或(2)聚乙烯和(i)聚丙烯均聚物或(ii)乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物的共混料中的任一种。
2.如权利要求1所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述内层的烯烃聚合物包括聚丙烯、高密度聚乙烯或乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物。
3.如权利要求2所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述内层的烯烃聚合物包含占内层的聚丙烯总重量的80%以上的全同立构聚丙烯或占内层的聚丙烯总重量的80%以上的间同立构聚丙烯。
4.如权利要求1所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述(c)(2)可分离层的聚乙烯选自低密度聚乙烯、高密度聚乙烯、线性低密度聚乙烯、中密度聚乙烯、茂金属催化的聚乙烯塑性体和茂金属催化的聚乙烯。
5.如权利要求1所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述可分离层含一定量的至少一种聚丙烯聚合物,该聚丙烯聚合物选自全同立构聚丙烯、间同立构聚丙烯和无规立构聚丙烯。
6.如权利要求1所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述密封层选自乙烯-丙烯无规共聚物、乙烯-丙烯-1-丁烯三元共聚物、丙烯-丁烯共聚物、低密度聚乙烯、线性低密度聚乙烯、极低密度聚乙烯、茂金属催化的聚乙烯塑性体、茂金属催化的聚乙烯、茂金属催化的乙烯-己烯共聚物、乙烯-甲基丙烯酸酯共聚物、乙烯-乙酸乙烯酯共聚物和离聚物树脂。
7.如权利要求1所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述密封层是可密封的涂层,选自丙烯酸类共聚物、聚偏二氯乙烯或乙烯-丙烯酸共聚物。
8.如权利要求1所述的可密封膜,其特征在于,所述可分离层(2)的共混料选自(a)线性低密度聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;(b)高密度聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;(c)低密度聚乙烯与聚丙烯的共混料;(d)茂金属催化的塑性体乙烯-己烯/丙烯-丁烯共聚物与聚丙烯的共混料;(e)线性低密度聚乙烯与乙烯-丙烯嵌段共聚物的共混料;和(f)茂金属催化的聚乙烯与丙烯均聚物的共混料。
