Abstract

发明领域
本发明涉及饮料容器领域。准确地说,本发明针对一种供儿童用的饮料容器,该容器对温度敏感而改变颜色。
发明背景
已知特别设计的供幼儿和少儿用的饮料杯。需要提供这类杯子来满足幼儿所产生的特殊要求。首先,幼儿已经知道偶然地掉落杯子,或者甚至有时故意地扔下杯子。因此,最理想的是提供用塑料或其它不容易破碎的材料制造的杯子。
幼儿还已经知道用别的方法泼洒装在杯子内的饮料。泼洒可能是儿童未发育协调或故意活动的结果。因此,最理想的是提供带使泼洒事件的影响减至最小的装置的杯子。这种装置包括了盖,饮料吸嘴和麦杆状吸管。
在幼儿用饮料杯设计中还有另一个问题是某些儿童变得厌烦他们的食品和饮料的倾向。这种厌烦可能造成增加了泼洒或掉落事件。幼儿用饮料杯的使用者清楚地认识到,需要一种能有效地保持儿童注意力,使泼洒、掉落和扔下的次数减至最少的新式改进的杯子。
发明概述
本发明针对一种幼儿用饮料杯,该杯随温度而改变颜色。因此本发明提供一种杯子,该杯子能在用它装待消耗的饮料时,保持儿童的兴趣和注意力。
本发明的幼儿用饮料杯,当杯子在等于或高于第一温度时,下面把这种第一温度称之为临界“热”或“温热”温度,它是第一颜色。当杯子低于第二温度时,下面把该第二温度叫做临界“冷”温度,侧壁显示第二颜色。以后将把第一颜色称之为暖色,而把第二颜色称之为冷色。当幼儿用饮料杯暴露于两临界温度之间的条件下时,可以显出混合色。
在优选实施例中,临界热温度低于室温,则杯子显示它暴露于该温度下时的暖色。优选实施例的临界冷温度高于家用冰箱的温度,则当将新从冰箱中取出的饮料注入杯子中时,杯子改变颜色。颜色改变过程完全是可逆的。
本发明的杯子用塑料制成。将树脂与对温度敏感而变色的组成物混合,以便提供冷色。混合物模制成杯子,优选的是呈醒目而引人注意的形状。

附图的详细说明
参见附图,其中同样的标号表示同样的部件,图中示出一种幼儿用饮料杯,它一般用标号10表示。如图1所示,幼儿用饮料杯10是单色的。如图1所示的杯10的颜色称为暖色,它表示当杯10的侧壁在一预先选定的临界“热”温度下或超过临界“热”温度Th时杯10的颜色,该临界“热”温度在下面将更详细说明。
图2示出其体积的相当大部分装满一种冷饮的幼儿用饮料杯。灌装线20标明液面的上部。饮料是在一临界“冷”温度Tc之下。优选的是冷温度Tc接近或高于典型家用冰箱的平均温度,冰箱通常是约4℃或40°F。Tc优选的是最高达18℃,更优选的是在10-18℃范围内,最优选的是在13和15℃之间。在最优选的实施例中,冷温度Tc约为14℃(约57°F)。因此,新从家用冰箱中取出的典型饮料将具有比Tc低得多的温度。
仍然参见图2,与冷饮料接触的幼儿用饮料杯10的侧壁区(亦即,在灌装线20的下面)用标号14表示。区域14由于它与冷饮料接触而冷却,因此区域14显示冷色。相反,杯子在灌装线20之上的区域保持在室温下,如区域12所示,该区域12保持在高于热温度Th,并因此显示暖色。Th一般大于19℃,例如在19和27℃之间,最优选的是在22和24℃之间。在幼儿用饮料杯的优选实施例中,热温度Th接近或低于平均室温,室温应理解为约25℃或77°F。在最优选的实施例中,Th为约23℃(约73°F)。
图3示出在使用者用温暖的手握持之后图2中的饮料杯。杯10的侧壁与使用者手及手指之间的接触点16已被温热到高于Th的温度,而区域14的其余部分由于饮料的温度而保持低于Tc。因此,接触点16是暖色,象区域12一样,并且呈使用者手指和手的形状。
为清楚起见,此处所提供的温度例子代表本发明预期遇到的最典型环境。在Th和Tc之间的温度下,杯10显示中等深浅(shade)或颜色,它是冷色和暖色的混合色。如果杯10内的液体能温热到高于Tc,但还没有达到Th,则可以在Th和Tc之间的温度。
本发明的幼儿用饮料杯优选的是用塑料制成。优选的塑料是热塑性聚合物,最优选的是聚丙烯,特别是取向聚丙烯。聚丙烯与一种随温度而变色的组成物混合。一些合适的随温度而变色的组成物由Kamata等人在美国专利No.5,431,697中公开了,此处整体作为参考文献。
在本发明的一个实施例中,随温度而变色的组成物在热温度(Th)时或高于热温度(Th)时不显示支配的可见颜色。
然而,随温度而变色的组成物在高于Th时可以显示第一颜色,起暖色作用的第一颜色更优选的是用热稳定的颜料显示。当温度下降到低于Th时,随温度而变色的组成物开始显示主要的冷色,同时显示越来越深的冷色,直至到达临界冷温度Tc为止。在Tc时或低于Tc时,主要的冷色完全显示出来,因而完全掩蔽了非主要的暖色。
如上所述,在Tc和Th之间的温度下,随温度而变色的组成物部分地显示出来。因此幼儿用饮料杯在这个温度范围内显示一种混合色。当温度接近Tc时混合色趋于主要的冷色。冷色优选的是比暖色暗。作为较暗的颜色,该冷色一般掩蔽随时显示的暖色。
可以用许多种化合物来形成随温度而变色的组成物;选择根据所希望的冷色,及用于Tc和Th所希望的值而定。各个种类的化合物将显示不同的颜色,并且在不同的临界温度下到达上述目的。
合适的随温度而变色的组成物可以用一种烯烃聚合物和一种热致变色材料形成。含有烷氧基硅烷侧链的烯烃聚合物可能特别合适。在本发明的优选实施例中,其中聚丙烯是幼儿用饮料杯10的基体树脂,聚丙烯也应形成随温度而变色的组成物烯烃聚合物的基本链(basechain)。
热致变色材料可以包括许多合适种类随酸显色化合物之一。当然,特定显色化合物的选择将取决于成品所希望的冷色及所希望的临界热温度和临界冷温度(Th和Tc)。热致变色材料还包括一种酸性化合物,它的选择同样取决于所希望的颜色和所希望的临界温度。
合适的随温度而变色的组成物市场上可从Matsui InternationalCo.,Inc. of Gardena,California购买并以注册商标“CHROMICOLOR”销售。
用于随温度而变色的组成物的可采用的冷色(及因此用于幼儿用饮料杯的冷色)包括黄色、橙色、朱红色、玫瑰红色、品红、兰色、绿色、黑色和棕色。杯的可能暖色仅受众所周知的热稳定颜料的可利用性限制,并且如前所述,冷色优选的是较暗并且比暖色占优势的颜色。本发明最优选的实施例是采用由Matsui International得到的17类各种颜色的CHROMICOLOR形成。
随温度而变色的组成物应当以随温度变色的组成物重量占5%和20%之间的浓度与基体树脂混合。在优选实施例中,其中基体树脂是聚丙烯,业已发现随温度而变色的组成物在重量占6%和10%之间的浓度下是有效的。由于经济上的原因,优选的是随温度而变色的组成物重量占6%的浓度。也可以将该技术的技术人员众所周知的另外添加剂,如稳定剂和交联剂,加到混合物中。
一旦基体树脂与随温度而变色的组成物混合好了,就将混合物模制成杯子。吹塑法和注塑法是用于生产幼儿用饮料杯的两种受欢迎的技术,目前优选的是吹塑法。现已发现,符合标准聚丙烯加工参数的模制法是有效的。模制温度一般应不超过235℃,因为大于235℃的温度会造成随温度而变色的组成物的破坏。
杯子可以模制成许多不同的形状和尺寸,及颜色。本发明的优选实施例具有缩小直径的中部区域,以便容易握持,正如附图中可以看到的。优选实施例还具有由杯中脊(各图中未示出)形成的波形(wavepattern)。波形为使用者提供一个良好的握持表面,并且还为杯子提供装饰作用。该领域的技术人员将会理解,能够放在杯子上的许多美观设计,只受设计人员的创造力限制。
杯子10的优选实施例还包括设置在靠近杯子上部的螺纹22。螺纹能接受一个盖或帽,如在图4和5中所看到的,盖或帽优选的是具有一饮料吸嘴,麦杆状吸管或其它用使泼洒(spill)减至最小并帮助吸出杯中液体的装置。图4示出一种幼儿用饮料杯10,它具有一个设置在杯10顶上的盖30。盖30与杯10的螺纹22可活动式接合,螺纹22在图1-3中示出。盖30具有一个饮料吸嘴32。饮料吸嘴32可以做成专业技术人员众所周知的许多不同形状。某些饮料吸嘴在吸嘴结构内部设置一个闸门或阀,以防当杯子意外颠倒时,饮料从其中洒落出来。另一些吸嘴依靠在吸嘴末端处通道或孔隙的狭窄来使洒落减至最少。
现在参见图5,杯10设置一个盖40,该盖40可活动式与图1-3中所见到的螺纹22接合。盖40设置一个小孔42,麦杆状吸管44可以穿过该小孔插入。大多数人很容易理解,许多形状和尺寸的麦杆式吸管可以代替如图所示的麦杆状吸管44。
尽管此处把饮料消费者说成是幼儿,但很显然,许多成年人也可以接受使用按照本发明所述杯子中所带来的愉快。
本发明可以在不脱离其精神和主要特性情况下,以其它特定的形式实施,因此,当表明本发明的范围时,应当参照所附的权利要求书,而不是参照上述详细说明。
Claims (6)
1.一种幼儿用饮料杯,包括:
一个装流体的容器,该容器由包含聚合物树脂的材料制成;
一种热稳定颜料使杯子具有第一种颜色;以及
一种随温度而变色的组成物,当在临界热温度和临界冷温度之间时部分显现出第二种颜色,临界冷温度低于临界热温度,且当低于临界冷温度时全部显现出第二种颜色;
杯子的任何部分在温度大于临界热温度时为第一种颜色;
第二种颜色比第一种颜色暗,因此当显示第二种颜色时,第二种颜色遮盖住第一种颜色且杯子低于临界冷温度的部分为第二种颜色;以及
当杯子的任何部分在临界热温度和临界冷温度之间的温度下时,杯子显示颜色的混合色调。
2.根据权利要求1所述的幼儿用饮料杯,其特征在于:聚合物是聚丙烯。
3.根据权利要求1所述的幼儿用饮料杯,其特征在于:随温度而变色的组成物包括一种烯烃聚合物和一种热致变色材料,热致变色材料包括一种对酸敏感的显色化合物和一种酸性物质。
4.根据权利要求1所述的幼儿用饮料杯,其特征在于:随温度而变色的组成物以占随温度而变色的组成物和聚合物重量6%和10%之间的浓度与聚合物混合。
5.根据权利要求1所述的幼儿用饮料杯,其特征在于:临界热温度是在19℃和27℃之间。
6.根据权利要求1所述的幼儿用饮料杯,其特征在于:临界冷温度在10℃和18℃之间。
