Abstract

Description

便携电子数据单
本发明一般涉及作为电视发送信号的非节目部分的数据的存储。具体说，本发明提供一种用于将包括在电视发送信号的垂直消隐期间内的数据进行解码的系统及提供一种用于存放由系统接收到的数据中选出的以备将来使用的信息的便携数据单。
在电视广播信号中除用于视频和音频接收所需节目信号外尚有不少信号窗口供插入数据用。电视发送信号的垂直消隐期间(VBI)在过去就供为听力受损者提供详细字幕的数据使用。
用于VBI所提供数据的解码器在技术上是众所周知的，并已开发出数据格式标准以便有效地应用VBI于传送附加数据。目前VBI数据的典型用途类似于详细字幕，其中VBI中所接收的数据被解码并作为单独视频信号用于在电视屏上印出信息，供用户观看。现有技术系统将VBI中所提供数据进行解码、存放和有效地使用的能力是极其有限的。
VBI中能提供的数据的例子是与通道有关的节目信息，例如短期节目预告，还有与节目有关的信息，例如棒球赛中棒球运动员的个人资料，烹饪课程中所提供菜肴配方，教育节目后的家庭作业和答案，及其它与所观看的节目有关的显示在屏幕上的信息。大部分此类信息可以或最好与现有视频节目同时显示出来。因此用于解码和将所需信息显示的系统主要决定于与以前描述的详细字幕系统相同的技术。
大量附加信息可利用VBI信号加以传播，然而，现在尚无实际的存放和使用数据的系统可供使用。希望在普通商业电视广告之外再有商业信息，例如补充的电话号码信息、本地经销商的情况和补充的产品/价格信息。为了最大的效益，在视频/音频商业广告之后应有此类信息，并应存放起来以备随后存取和/或使用。如只将VBI中传送的附加信息显示在商业广告的现有图象上，则对于广告者讲这并不比商业广告本身的材料有多大好处。图象上传递的这类信息是短暂的，大多数观看者在观看商业广告时不会采取任何行动。在VBI上发送的数据可以接收下来并且随后在用户命令下在屏幕上显示，这可扩充实时广播的用途，加入“虚时”以使可能的顾客在它们闲暇时观看重要的与销售有关的信息。
作为提供商业信息的概念的一部分，可提供用于销售的减价信息。目前减价是以在例如报纸、杂志、商店传单等上面印制的票单形式散发给顾客的。顾客将票单撕下来并带至商店以便抵销付款。大部分票单使用一种条码形式的UPC数码，用于方便地将产品、减价数、失效期和其它信息与顾客实际购买货品进行比较确认，以防票单作弊。
可用于电视发送信号的VBI中“票单”信息的传送媒体在商业通信领域中为广告者和用户两者都开阔了新渠道。本发明提供一种方法和系统，可以方便地获得、存放并使用这类商业信息以便从显示媒体中获取最大效益。
本发明提供一种装置，用于接收、存放和使用电视广播信号的VBI期间内提供的商业广告或其它数据。一个连接以用于接收电视发送信号的控制器包括一个用于从电视发送信号的垂直消隐期间提取编码数据的VBI解码器。一个由控制器提供的再发送装置将收到的VBI数据送至便携数据单。该便携数据单包括一个用于接收再发送来的编码数据的接收器和一个用于存放所接收数据的存储装置。数据单包括一个用于显示存储装置中所存放数据的显示器，这些数据通过一个内部解码器提供数字字母读出。该票单还包括一个发送装置，用于有选择地将编码数据的一部分发送至一个接收装置，以供使用。
包括在控制器内的存储器增加了使用的灵活性，用于从VBI解码器接收编码数据并随后将数据发送给便携数据单。控制器中的多路转换器决定选择存储器存储还是立即再发送。
配备有存储器的控制器还包括一个接收器，用于接收由便携数据单发送的数据，以便存放于控制器存储器内。本实施例内控制器用作接收由便携数据单发送的数据的接收装置。
VBI数据可向能用于多用途的控制器提供不同信息。控制器的VBI解码器具有将多种类型编码数据进行解码的能力。微处理器或其它可编程逻辑控制器将数据类型分离，以及连至再发送系统的数据格式化器根据数据类型将它格式化。此外，由控制器产生的控制信号被格式化以便从VBI数据中分离出来。便携数据票中的接收器将格式化的数据类型进行鉴别，以便只将所需数据存放于便携数据票中或根据数据类型分离出数据。
便携数据单和控制器中有时钟或其它记时装置，用于为数据标上时间和将数据所标时间与当前时间和日期进行比较。所发送的数据也可包括时间信息，以便更新控制器和便携数据单中的时钟之用。
在将数据自数据票传送出去供最终用户使用后，存放于便携数据票中的数据被有选择性地手动或自动地删除掉。例如当便携数据票用于商品或服务的减价时，将与对应于纸票单抵消金额的减价数有关的所存数据发送后，将自动删除便携数据单存储器中该数据，以杜绝再次享受减价。
参照下面图纸和详细说明，将能更清楚地理解本发明。图纸有：

参照图1，显示的便携数据单10对电视发送信号的垂直消隐期间中发送的数据提供实际的第二次用途。控制器12将VBI数据从电视发送信号中解码并将数据传送给便携电子单。在图中显示的实施例中，有两种传送方法可供使用。由一个IR发送器14提供的宽带红外信号由便携数据单上的IR检测器16接收，从而实现与便携数据单的“远距”通信。另一方案是利用串连接口，控制器中接插件的第一半边18与便携数据单上接插件的第二半边20相匹配。使用IR发送器/检测器组合装置传送数据时允许便携数据单放置于可以接收到发送器所发送的宽带红外幅射光的任何所需位置。而串连接口要求将便携数据单直接连至控制器单元。
便携数据单包括一个显示器22，用于将便携数据单中接收和存放的数据向用户显示。用于控制便携数据单操作的元件包括用于调用数据至显示器的“读出”键24，用于删除数据的“删除”键，随后将讨论的用于保护所存数据的“存储”健，和用于启动发送存放于便携数据单中数据的“发送”键。一个IR发送器32对“发送”键作出响应，将存放于便携数据单中的数据发送至接收装置。在另一方案中数据可利用前面所描述供接收数据用的串连接口送至接收装置。
在图纸中所示实施例中，控制器还包括一个IR检测器34，用于在不同应用场合接收由便携数据单发送的数据，这在后面将更详细地描述。
便携数据单的操作部件结构最好看图2。由控制器发送的编码数据通过IR检测器或串连端口接插件被接收并送至一个微处理器。在图中所示实施例中微处理器将数据存放于例如随机存取存储器(RAM)36的存储装置中。微处理器对以前描述过的各种控制命令作出响应，对便携数据单中数据进行操纵，这些控制命令在图2中一般由控制38所代表。对用户按下读出键的动作进行响应，微处理器将从RAM中当今寻址的内存地址中获取编码数据，并将数据解码以便通过驱动器40输出至显示器。在图纸中所示实施例中提供的液晶显示(LCD)具有多字为数字显示能力。
如按下便携数据单上的删除键，则微处理器将对应于显示上数据的存储地址中数据删除掉，而如按下发送键则微处理器将通过IR发送器或串连端口接插件将对应于所显示数据的存储地址中数据发送出去。
在图纸所示实施例中由便携数据单收到的数据存放于RAM的临时缓冲存储器中。此临时存储器包括由微处理器寻址的预定数量的存储器地址。当临时缓冲存储器存满时，微处理器将便携数据单接收到的更多数据写入临时缓存，并将缓存中最旧数据改写掉。徽处理器应用临时缓存中的环形地址指针系统，用于先进先出存储，也可应用类似寻址系统。用户希望保留数据时，可接下票单上的存储键，将数据自临时缓冲存储器写至保护缓存。微处理器对存储键作出响应，将对应于显示器上数据的临时缓冲存储器中的数据传送至RAM中一个保护的或永久性缓冲存储器，或作为另一方案在存储地址上设立保护标志以防止改写该数据，从而将该数据保护起来。
便携数据单包括用于记时目的的时钟42，在存放由微处理器所接收的数据时用于提供当前时间和日期以便为该数据记时，便携数据单所收到的编码数据可包括时间信息，供微处理器解码后将内部时钟更新。
微处理器的数据处理能力中有一种将所接收数据分类的功能，以使便携数据单能使用不同格式的数据。这类数据类型的例子有时钟所传送的记时数据和所接收的数据。便携数据单不同应用中的附加类型将于下面更详细地描述。
在一定应用场合中由便携数据单收到的数据将包括“提示”信息，用于向用户通知打算将收到的数据自临时缓冲存储器传送至保护存储器。在微处理器控制下在显示器上出现的闪烁字符或喇叭中的音响信号可用作用户提示。用户提示是便携数据单接收的数据中另一种类型。
便携数据单中所存数据可通过IR发送器或串连端口接插件传送至接收装置。因此便携数据单除用作数据存储装置外，还可用作数据传送装置。存放于只读存储器(ROM)46中的特定系列号或便携数据单所用其它码用于确认便携数据单为传送至这类接收装置的数据的来源，该ROM 46可由微处理器存取以将数据传送至接收装置。包括一个通过IR发送器或串连端口接插件发送的数据发送系统在内的接收装置能应用一种与便携数据单的微处理器对话的方法，以便检查便携数据单内包含的数据、提取合适数据和确认便携数据单的标识码。
便携数据单的主要预期用途的例子是电视广告中商品或服务的减价中所用辅助数据存储器和“电子票单”。在电视广告的垂直消隐期间，发送与电话号码、地址相关连的信息，或是产品或服务的当地销售商的选用信息，或是所提供减价的细节，包括商品信息、减价额、失效期等等。控制器使用通用技术将VBI数据解码。VBI中的数据进一步加密，以防未授权便携数据单使用。从VBI提取的编码数据再传送给便携数据单，其中如前所描述那样将数据存放于临时存储器中。票单用户可使用读出键将信息自存储器中获取。电话号码、地址和类似信息由微处理器进行解码并在便携数据单上显示，供用户使用读出键观看这些信息。电子票单信息以几种格式中的一种显示出来。一种用于显示出卖者/生产者/经销者、减价额和失效期的数字字为格式允许用户确定“电子票单”的值。通过使用现有键的预定组合或使用“字型变换”键(未示出)，可在显示器上以另外一种标准UPC条码格式显示，供具有激光扫描器或类似系统的抵消付款系统使用。该UPC条码系统可方便地用所买货物的自动收款登记系统加以比较。这类条码显示于图1B中。
在电视广告结束后的预定时间内用户可研究所提供信息，VBI数据中提供的提示命令由控制器再传送给电视屏或便携数据单。在接收到提示命令后，微处理器将喇叭激励或使显示字符闪烁以唤起用户注意到已经提供了一个票单或其它信息。用户可用读出键检查该信息，并决定是否应将该信息存放于保护存储器中以免被随后的商业信息所改写。如按下存储键，则该信息即被保护下来并在以后可用该“电子票单”抵消付款。或者如用户对该信息不感兴趣，则可按删除键当时就删除数据。
便携数据单将编码数据中提供的失效期加以显示，同时微处理器将由内部时钟提供的当前时间和日期与数据存储器中存放的失效期信息进行比较。当到达失效期前预定期间时，微处理器将显示对应于将到来的失效期的信息，并激励喇叭或将插入字幕的显示闪烁以提示用户。保护临时存储器中所存包括失效期在内的数据由微处理器显示出来，当到达失效期时，该存储器地址即被清零以腾出存储器资源。
用于便携数据单的控制器实施例示于图3。控制器可包括在电视机本身内，或也可如前所描述包括在其它具有VBI解码器和数据再传送系统的产品中。在本实施例中控制器包括在VGR系统中，本实施例应用一种1993年2月8日归档的名为“视频盒带放像机的增强性操作”的美国专利申请系列号08/014,541中公开的系统，该专利与本发明有一个公共受让人，在此通过参考资料被作为一个整体包括进来。
如图3所示，控制器在视频输入线48上接收电视广播信号，视频信号也提供给电视机(未示出)的调谐器，供正常观看电视用。VBI解码器50接收视频输入信号并在微处理器52控制下将垂直消隐期间内提供的数据进行解码。VBI数据所用数据格式在工业中是众所周知的，其例可见名为“用于线21数据服务第7部分扩展数据服务包的推荐方案”的设计报告EIA—608。
VBI编码器/解码器系统是技术中熟知的，目前应用于供听力障碍者用的详细字幕。将特定数据类型格式化以供微处理器识别，这可使VBI的数据存储能力用于多种用途。垂直消隐期间内提供的不同数据可包括正观看或正录带的电视节目的节目信息。前面描述过的商业信息也在VBI数据中提供。VBI解码器包括受微处理器控制的多路转换器，用于将节目信息数据自便携数据单的可应用数据中分离出来。
在本系统第一实施例中由VBI解码器自VBI中分离出的票单数据直接提供给控制器中的再发送器。如前所描述，该再发送器的形式可以是IR发送器或是应用连线接插件的标准串连端口。
在本系统第二实施例中票单数据自VBI解码器送至控制器内部的存储器54以便存储起来。这种存储可用于对便携数据单的延迟再发送，并与直接VBI解码所提供的实时断续传送相反，可在微处理器控制下将存放于存储器内的数据以脉冲串方式传送出去。控制器的存储器比便携数据单的存储器远远少受物理尺寸要求的限制。因此可预见到该系统的运行方案：其中自VBI分离出的数据暂时存放于控制器内而只当使用时才下传至便携数据单。
由解码器自VBI中提取的数据包括节目信息或其它便携数据单可能无法直接应用的数据。如举例中参照的专利申请系列号014,541的实施例中所证实的，由于控制器除能将VBI数据和其它控制信息送至便携数据单外，还能送至其它装置，因而将控制系统包括在VCR中的方案更具有吸引力。如图3所示，微处理器通过码数据发生器56提供直接编码控制数据，例如用于有线电视解码盒的控制信息。在微处理器控制下，数据格式化器58向红外发送器提供具有特定数据类型格式的传送数据。例如，如图3所示，1类数据是来自码数据系统的控制数据，由控制器的微处理器用于控制二级装置。2类信息是由控制器存储器提供的节目ID信息，而3类数据是供便携数据单用的商业数据。包括在控制器中的用于记时功能的时钟60在微处理器控制下通过数据格式化器提供作为4类数据的输出。
在一定应用场合中控制器可由遥控装置操作，例如由标准VCR遥控器操作。控制器中的IR检测器34适于从这类遥控器接收IR传送的信息，以供微处理器处理。微处理器接着将这类遥控输入信号转换为码数据，用于控制不同装置之一，例如有线盒、电视机或便携数据单。在广播商业信息时，可使用遥控对如前所描述通过便携数据单上喇叭时票单用户的提示作出响应，其中遥控上键的预定组合向控制器的IR检测器提供红外信号，该信号又由控制器的微处理器作为码数据信号通过控制器的IR发送器提供给便携数据单的IR检测器，从而完成存储功能而不需用户检索票单和按动票单上的存储键。如前所描述，便携数据单中的微处理器35具有根据数据格式将数据分离的能力，因此具有码数据格式和用于控制便携数据单的功能的控制数据可被接收以用于便携数据单的“不干涉”操作。
为使用遥控于远距激励多个便携数据单的控制功能，可在按键顺序中包括一个卡标识数，从而允许不同“电子票单”或其它数据存放于不同便携数据单中。
在便携数据单所用附加替换运行模式中，存放于控制器存储器中用于例如录像带录像那样的其它控制器功能的节目信息数据可下传入便携数据单以便传送至第二控制器。在控制器微处理器控制下通过IR发送器或串连湍口连接，用便携数据单能识别的数据格式将节目信息下传。便携数据单收到的数据存放于临时或保护缓冲存储器内。应用图1a的便携数据单上的发送键30通过IR发送器32或串连端口接插件20将数据传送至第二控制器的存储器，即可完成自便携数据单至第二控制器系统的数据上传操作。
不具有从控制器再传送的能力的便携数据单的另一实施例应用图1C中显示的标准字为数字键盘62。由商业信息中解码所得VBI数据包括一个预定数码，该数码由控制器提供至用户电视屏上，供使用键盘直接输入便携数据单用。例如，用户在键盘上输入的标准UPC码的编码版本可显示在屏幕上，由便携数据单中的微处理器解码后，可以显示出卖者/经销者、产品减价额和失效期。便携数据单的保护存储器中的这些数据可如前所述地供以后使用。
用于将便携数据单实施为“电子票单”的抵消付款系统的原理图示于图4。具有扫描器66的标准条码扫描收款登记系统64是销售系统的典型网点。售出的货物由使用UPC条码的激光扫描器所扫描，其产品识别码和价格自动地登记在收款登记系统中。当前使用的纸票单一般应用UPC条码，它由激光扫描器所扫描并与购买产品比较，如产品已经购买，则票单减价即用于总购货款中。便携数据单可用同样方式，即如前所描述和图1B中所显示那样，调用所记下的以UPC条码格式表现的减价额。用常规激光扫描器加以扫描后，收款登记系统确认减价产品已经购买并将合适的减价额应用到总购货款中。
纸票单一般在抵消付款时收回以防再用。商店雇员在抵消付款后手动地使用便携数据单上的删除键将每个票单删除。另一方案是，便携数据单通过对IR检测器16中激光信号的检测而自动地删除被扫描的票单。为避免在确认收款登记系统已接收票单之前就删除“电子票单”，可在存储地址中设置一个识别位，其结果是一个延迟的票单删除操作，如果票单事实上没有抵消付款，则商店雇员可对便携数据单进行控制，通过编码输入使这种删除成为可逆的。
用于便携数据单的一种用于电子票单68的补充适配器提供一种用于便携数据单的肯定的交互式通信装置，用于加强销售系统网点的可靠性。便携数据单放置于贴近适配器的地方，便于红外信号的发送和接收，允许在适配器和便携数据单之间进行交换对话，以便对于对应于所购产品的全部“电子票单”进行估值和抵消付款。适配器包括一个红外发送器70和一个红外检测器72，用于与便携数据单通信。适配器用通过IR发送器70传送的数据对便携数据单进行查询，该传送数据由便携数据单上的IR检测器16所接收。由便携数据单在IR发送器32上发送的数据由适配器中IR检测器72所接收，供收款登记系统处理。在确认已购买减价物品后，适配器在IR发送器70上发出删除信号，确认票单已抵消付款。便携数据单上的IR检测器16收到该抵消付款信号后，存储器中的与减价相关的数据即被删除。在适配器中装有匹配用接插件半边74，用于与便携数据单上接插件半边20相连接，以便通过串连接口用查询和响应方式与便携数据单中与所购产品相关的“电子票单”进行通信。
如前所描述的便携数据单的对来自ROM的列号的查询用作避免“海盗”便携数据单因而也减少“票单作弊”的安全措施。
现回到图1a系统的实施例，为在自控制器通过宽带红外传送进行远距数据传送期间促进与便携数据单的最佳通信，要求便携数据单合理地靠近控制器。如图5所示，应用具有直立架的立架76以便将便携数据单支撑在基本垂直方向上。图纸中所示实施例中前立架78的垂直尺寸使IR检测器16能显露出来，同时第二立架80的垂直尺寸足以将便携数据单支撑在基本直立位置中。如在另一实施例中立架使用能透过红外线的材料，则不需减小第一立架的垂直尺寸。可应用不同单个票单盒间的阶梯结构的用于多个便携数据单的夹具。以便为每个便携数据单提供IR检测器用于接收数据的最佳显露面。
图6显示便携数据单所用又一实施例。由摄像机82摄下的照相图象通过光电适配器84上的红外发送器86发送出去而由便携数据单的红外检测器16所接收。便携数据单用作电子识别卡时，要输入一个个人识别数(PIN)，该PIN是卡所有者所知并对应于存放于ROM中的卡系列号。在接收到合适的输入的PIN后，自光电适配器收到的图象数据存放入永久存储器内。通过使用对便携数据单的IR发送器32作出响应的IR检测器88可完成对图象数据的数据传送和接口控制。
在运行中，该系统允许用户选择内容并按需要替换所存图象信息。然而，在保护性地存放图象之前需要先输入PIN，这可避免不恰当地输入标识照相。另一方案是，用于输入PIN的键盘包括在光电适配器内并通过与便携数据单的对话通信检验PIN信息。
在另一实施例中光电适配器与便携数据单之间的数据通信通过使用前面描述过的接插件及串连端口接口来实现。
在按专利法令所要求的详细地描述本发明之后，熟悉技术的人将能识别对这里所公开实施例的修改和替代。这类修改和替代包含在由下面权利要求所定义的本发明内。

Claims (59)

1.一种便携数据单，包括：
用于接收编码数据的装置；
用于存储所收到数据的装置；
用于选择性地将存储装置中所存数据解码和显示的装置；以及
用于选择性地将编码数据传送至接收装置的装置。
2.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，进一步包括用于向接收装置确认数据单的独特标识码的装置。
3.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，进一步包括用于选择性地删除所存数据的装置。
4.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，其中用于存储的装置包括至少一个临时存储地址和众多保护存储地址，所述所收到数据存放于所述至少一个临时存储地址，并进一步包括用于选择性地将数据自所述至少一个临时存储地址传送至所述保护地址中的一个的装置。
5.根据权利要求4的便携数据单，进一步包括众多临时存储地址和用于对所述临时存储地址进行寻址的装置，所述寻址装置顺序地对每个临时存储地址寻址以存放所收到编码数据，并当所有临时存储地址都存满时，对存有最旧数据的临时存储地址寻址以存放新收到数据。
6.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，进一步包括一个记时装置。
7.根据权利要求6的便携数据单进一步包括用于存放来自具有所收到数据的记时装置的当前时间和日期的装置。
8.根据权利要求6的便携数据单，其中编码数据包括当前时间和日期的信息及进一步包括用于对编码数据作出响应，用当前时间和日期将所述记时装置更新内容的装置。
9.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，其中编码数据包括商品或服务减价信息。
10.根据权利要求9的便携数据单，其中所述减价信息包括供应商标识码和减价标识码。
11.根据权利要求9的便携数据单，其中所述减价信息包括失效期。
12.根据权利要求11的便携数据单，进一步包括用于把来自记时装置的当前日期与包括在所述减价信息中的日期进行比较的装置及用于在失效期超过当前日期时将数据自存储装置中删除的装置。
13.根据权利要求11的便携数据单，进一步包括标明装置，用于对比较装置进行响应并向用户标明当前日期已到达失效期前的预定时期。
14.根据权利要求9的便携数据单，其中编码数据包括供应商、产品或服务的标识码和以UPC格式表现的减价额。
15.根据权利要求14的便携数据单，其中解码和显示装置在第一字为数字格式和第二条码格式中选择性地将所述编码数据解码和显示，以及所述便携数据单进一步包括用于选择显示格式的装置。
16.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，其中用于接收编码数据的装置包括一个红外检测器。
17.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，其中用于接收编码数据的装置包括一个串连输入端口。
18.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，其中用于接收编码数据的装置包括一个字为数字键盘。
19.根据权利要求1的便携数据单，其中编码数据包括一个提示信号以及该便携数据单进一步包括用于标明已收到提示的装置。
20.根据权利要求19的便携数据单，其中标明装置是一个喇叭。
21.根据权利要求19的便携数据单，其中标明装置是一个闪烁可视指示器。
22.一种垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，包括：
一个连接以接收电视发送信号的控制器，所述电视发送信号包括电视信号的垂直消隐期间内插入的编码数据，所述控制器包括：
一个用于存放所收到编码数据的存储器；
用于发送存放于存储器中的编码数据的装置以及，
一个便携数据单具有：
用于接收由控制器发送的数据的装置；
用于存储所收到数据的装置；
用于选择性地将存储装置中所存放数据解码和显示的装置；以及
用于选择性地将编码数据发送至接收装置的装置。
23.根据权利要求22的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中所述控制器进一步包括用于检测由所述票单发送的数据的装置，所述检测装置连至用于存储所收到票单数据的存储器。
24.一种垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，包括：
一个连接以接收电视发送信号的控制器并具有：
一个用于自电视发送信号的垂直消隐期间内提取编码数据的VBI解码器及
用于将所述编码数据再发送的装置；以及，
一种便携数据单具有：
用于接收再发送的编码数据的装置，
用于存储所收到数据的装置，
用于选择性地将存储装置中所存放数据解码和显示的装置，以及
用于选择性地将编码数据发送给接收装置的装置。
25.根据权利要求24的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中所述控制器进一步包括：
一个连接以接收来自VBI解码器的编码数据的存储器，及
一个位居VBI解码器和数据再发送装置之间的多路转换器，及所述多路转换器连接至存储器以便选择性地向数据再发送装置提供来自VBI解码器(在第一状态中)和来自存储器(在第二状态中)的编码数据。
26.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中控制器进一步包括用于检测由标单的发送装置发送的编码数据的装置，所述检测装置连接至存储器以便存放来自票单的数据。
27.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中VBI解码器包括用于将电视发送信号中所收到的编码数据加以分类的装置，及所述控制器进一步包括：
用于将数据类型分离的逻辑装置；及
连接至再发送装置和对逻辑装置作出响应从而对应于数据类型将数据格式化以便再发送的数据格式化器。
28.根据权利要求27的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中VBI解码器的多路转换器对逻辑装置作出响应，根据数据类型将数据送至存储器或再发送装置。
29.根据权利要求27的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，进一步包括一个具有时间数据输出的时钟及其中逻辑装置进一步将时间数据作为一类数据加以分离。
30.根据权利要求29的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中站时间数据是VBI解码器所收到的一类数据及进一步包括用于对来自逻辑装置的控制信号作出响应将内部时钟复位使它等于站时间数据的装置。
31.根据权利要求27的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括用于将由数据格式化器所格式化的数据进行检测的装置，所述检测装置选择性地向存储装置提供一个允许工作信号从而允许存储所收到数据。
32.根据权利要求27的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中控制器进一步包括用于产生第二装置运行所需控制数据，由逻辑装置所分离的所述控制数据是数据的一种类型及其中所述数据格式化器将所述控制数据格式化以便发送给第二装置。
33.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括用于向接收装置确认数据单的独特标识码的装置。
34.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括用于选择性地删除所存数据的装置。
35.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单中用于存储的装置包括至少一个临时存储地址和众多保护存储地址，所述收到的数据存放地所述至少一个临时存储地址中以及进一步包括用于选择性地将数据从所述至少一个临时存储地址传送至所述保护地址中的一个的装置。
36.根据权利要求35的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括众多临时存储地址和用于对所述临时存储地址寻址的装置，所述寻址装置顺序地对每个临时存储地址寻址以存储收到的编码数据并当所有临时存储地址都存满时，对具有最旧数据的临时存储地址进行寻址以存入新收到的数据。
37.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括一个记时装置。
38.根据权利要求37的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括用于存放来自带有收到的数据的记时装置的当前时间和日期的装置。
39.根据权利要求37的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中编码数据包括当前时间和日期信息及其中便携数据单进一步包括用于对编码数据作出响应将所述记时装置内容更新为当前时间和日期的装置。
40.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中编码数据包括商品或服务减价信息。
41.根据权利要求40的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中所述减价信息包括供应商标识码和减价标识码。
42.根据权利要求40的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中所述减价信息包括失效期。
43.根据权利要求42的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单进一步包括用于把来自记时装置的当前日期与所述减价信息中所包括日期进行比较的装置以及用于当失效期超过当前日期时自存储装置中删除所述数据的装置。
44.根据权利要求40的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中编码数据包括供应商、产品或服务的标识码和以UPC格式表示的减价额。
45.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中便携数据单的解码和显示装置将以第一字为数字格式表示和以第二条码格式表示的所述编码数据选择性地解码和显示以及所述便携数据单进一步包括用于选择显示格式的装置。
46.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中再发送装置包括一个红外发送器及其中用于接收再发送的编码数据的装置包括一个红外检测器。
47.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中再发送装置包括一个串连输出端口及其中用于接收再发送的编码数据的装置包括一个串连输入端口。
48.根据权利要求25的垂直消隐期间数据应用系统，其中用于再发送所述编码数据的装置包括用于显示所述编码数据的装置及其中用于接收再发送的编码数据的装置包括一个字母数字键盘。
49.一种数据获取和使用的方法，包括以下步骤：
以预定发送格式将数据编码；
在电视发送信号的垂直消隐期间将编码数据作为该信号的一部分发送出去；
使用VBI解码器接收电视信号及自垂直消隐期间提取编码数据；
再发送编码数据；
在便携数据单内接收再发送的编码数据；
将所接收数据存入便携数据单；
选择性地将便携数据单中存放的数据解码和显示；以及
选择性地将编码数据自便携数据单传送给接收装置。
50.根据权利要求49的数据获取和使用的方法，进一步包括在再发送之前将编码数据存入存储器的中间步骤。
51.根据权利要求49的数据获取和使用的方法，其中接收电视发送信号的步骤包括根据预定类型识别编码数据的步骤及其中再发送编码数据的步骤包括将编码数据按照数据类型加以格式化以便于再发送的步骤。
52.根据权利要求51的数据获取和使用的方法，其中接收便携数据单中再发送的编码数据的步骤包括识别数据类型的步骤及其中存储便携数据单中所收到数据的步骤包括根据所识别的类型选择用于存储的数据的步骤和将所述所选数据存储的步骤。
53.根据权利要求49的数据获取和使用的方法，其中存储便携数据单中数据的步骤包括将编码数据存储于便携数据单的临时存储地址中的步骤及进一步包括自临时存储器中选择编码数据以便于保护性存储的步骤。
54.根据权利要求53的数据获取和使用的方法，其中将编码数据存储于临时存储器的步骤进一步包括以下步骤：
确定何时所有临时存储地址都已存满；
确定哪一个临时存储地址包含最旧数据；以及
将新收到数据存入具有最旧数据的存储地址中。
55.根据权利要求45的数据获取和使用的方法，其中选择性地将编码数据传送给接收装置的步骤进一步包括将便携数据单的独特标识码传送给接收装置的步骤。
56.根据权利要求49的数据获取和使用的方法，进一步包括以下步骤：
在选择性地将数据传送给接收装置后将存储于便携数据单中的数据删除。
57.根据权利要求49的数据获取和使用的方法，其中选择性地将编码数据自便携数据单传送给接收装置的步骤包括以下步骤：
向便携数据单查询以确定对应于所需数据的编码数据是否存放于存储地址中；以及
将数据自便携数据单的存储地址中传送出去。
58.根据权利要求57的数据获取和使用的方法，其中查询和获取的步骤对全部所需数据都重复执行。
59.根据权利要求57的数据获取和使用的方法，进一步包括将已自存储器中传送出去的数据删除的步骤。
