Abstract

发明领域
本发明一般涉及个人计算机,更具体地说,本发明涉及连接个人计算机的方法和设备。
背景技术
随着高能多媒体个人计算机的价格逐渐降低,家庭中的个人计算机(PC)越来越普及。家庭个人计算机用于多种目的,包括家庭商务和教育目的。随着接受这些典型的家庭个人计算机的用法,个人计算机已经自然地被放在家庭办公室或书房里。除了用于家庭商务或教育目的之外,家庭个人计算机也经常用于娱乐目的,例如玩视频游戏或浏览万维网。

发明概述
本发明公开了一种与个人计算机远程交互的方法和设备。根据本发明的一个方面,提供了一种与个人计算机远程交互的方法,该方法包括步骤:通过第一无线链路向位于远地的电视发射位于本地的个人计算机的视频输出信号;在位于远地的电视上显示该视频输出信号;将从多个远程输入设备产生的多个远程输入信号多路复用到一个远程数据流中;将该远程数据流多路分用到多个远程输入信号中;随着相应从多个本地输入设备产生的多个本地输入信号之每一个多路复用多个远程输入信号的每一个;操作多个位于远地的远程输入设备之一个以控制该PC;响应来自多个远程输入设备中的一个的远程输入信号更新在电视上所显示的视频输出信号。根据本发明的第二个方面,提供一种个人计算机(PC)接口系统,包括:一个连接到-PC的本地PC接口单元,所连接的本地PC接口单元接收来自该PC的视频输出信号,该本地PC接口单元还连接多个本地输入设备,多个本地输入设备的每一个产生多个本地输入信号的一个以便控制该PC,所连接PC通过该本地PC接口单元接收该多个本地输入信号;一个连接到TV的电视(TV)接口单元,所连接的TV接口单元通过第一无线链路接收来自本地PC接口单元的视频输出信号,其中配置TV显示该视频输出信号;一个连接到多个远程输入设备的远程多路复用器,由多个远程输入设备产生的多个远程输入信号产生一个远程数据流,以便控制该PC;一个连接到该远程多路复用器的多路分用器,将该远程数据流多路分用到多个远程输入信号中;以及多个连接在该多路分用器和该PC之间的本地多路复用器,该多个本地多路复用器随着相应多个本地输入信号之每一个多路复用多个远程输入信号的每一个。

优选实施例详细描述
公开一种远程连接个人计算机的方法和设备。在下述说明中,将说明几个具体细节以提供本发明的全面理解。然而,对于本技术领域中的普通技术人员将很明显,在实施本发明时并不需要使用该具体细节。在另一例子中,没有详细描述公知的材料或方法以避免导致本发明不清楚。

在本发明的一个方面,坐在客厅133的沙发129上的用户可以通过远程输入设备123A-E与位于书房131中的个人计算机107交互。在一种实施例中,远程输入设备123A-E可以包括普通个人计算机输入设备,例如键盘123A、鼠标123B、跟踪球123C、操纵杆123D、游戏控制器123E或类似设备。每个远程输入设备123A-E被连接到一个远程设备接口单元105。

可以看出使用当前描述的发明,用户只需要购买一台个人计算机107,但能够从家中多个不同的房间与该个人计算机远程交互。在本发明的另一个方面,可以给家中的多个房间装备电视109、电视接口单元103和远程输入设备接口单元105以允许与单台个人计算机107交互。在一种实施例中,根据本发明的教导在无线链路117中传送的音频/视频信号可以被广播到家(未图示)中带有电视109的每个房间。
图2是连接到位于本地231例如家庭办公室或书房的个人计算机207的本地个人计算机接口单元201的方框图。个人计算机207产生视频信号241和音频信号243,每个都被连接到本地个人计算机接口单元201。监视器215和扬声器237被连接到本地个人计算机接口单元201以使用户在本地231与个人计算机207交互时能够分别观看视频信号241和收听音频信号243。

图5是根据本发明教导的电视接口单元503和远程输入设备接口单元505的另一种实施例的方框图。如图5所示,本地个人计算机接口单元501位于书房531中,书房在虚线535左侧表示。TV接口单元503和远程输入设备接口单元505位于客厅533中,客厅在虚线535的右侧表示。TV509和音频再生设备例如立体声系统511被连接到TV接口单元503。TV接口单元503通过无线链路517使用接收机559从本地个人计算机接口单元501接收音频/视频信号。在本发明的一种实施例中,无线链路517是RF信号,变换器555将RF信号下移为适合在TV509上显示的音频/视频信号525。在一种实施例中,变换器555还产生适合在立体声系统511上重放的单独音频信号。
远程输入设备接口单元505被连接到多个普通个人计算机输入设备,例如键盘523A、鼠标523B、跟踪球523C、操纵杆523D和游戏控制器523E。远程输入设备接口单元505接收来自远程输入设备523A-E的远程输入信号并将每个远程输入信号多路复用到单个远程输入设备数据流561中。
在本发明的一种实施例中,包括远程输入信号数据流561的远程输入信号被转换到RF信号并使用远程输入设备接口单元505的收发信机553直接发射到本地个人计算机接口单元501,而不用如图4所示实施例中所表示的必须首先发射到TV接口单元503。在图5所示的实施例中,既然无线链路519是RF信号,因此远程输入设备信号可以直接从远程输入设备接口单元505接收。
因此,所描述的作为用于与个人计算机远程交互的方法和设备。在上述详细说明中,已经参见其具体例子或实施例说明本发明的方法和设备。然而,在不脱离本发明主要精神和范围的情况下,可以向其进行各种修改和改变是显而易见。因此本说明书和附图被视为说明性的而非限制性的。
Claims (24)
1.一种与个人计算机(PC)远程交互的方法,该方法包括步骤:
通过第一无线链路向位于远地的电视(TV)发射位于本地的个人计算机的视频输出信号;
在位于远地的电视上显示该视频输出信号;
将从多个远程输入设备产生的多个远程输入信号多路复用到一个远程数据流中;
将该远程数据流多路分用到多个远程输入信号中;
随着相应从多个本地输入设备产生的多个本地输入信号之每一个多路复用多个远程输入信号的每一个;
操作多个位于远地的远程输入设备之一个以控制该PC;
响应来自多个远程输入设备中的一个的远程输入信号更新在电视上所显示的视频输出信号。
2.如权利要求1所述的方法包括附加步骤:将位于本地的PC的视频输出信号从适合在计算机监视器上显示的第一格式转化成适合在电视上显示的第二格式。
3.如权利要求1所述的方法,其中发射视频输出信号的步骤包括将来自位于本地的PC的射频(RF)信号发射到位于远地的TV。
4.如权利要求3所述的方法,其中显示视频输出信号的步骤包括步骤:
从PC接收RF信号;以及
将该RF信号转化到适合于在TV上显示的格式。
5.如权利要求1所述的方法包括附加步骤:通过第一无线链路向位于远地的TV发射PC的音频输出信号。
6.如权利要求1所述的方法包括附加步骤:通过第一无线链路向位于远地的音频再生设备发射PC的音频输出信号。
7.如权利要求1的方法,其中发射视频输出信号的步骤包括向位于远地的TV发射音频/视频信号的步骤。
8.如权利要求1的方法包括通过第二无线链路将远程数据流发射到PC的附加步骤。
9.如权利要求8的方法,其中发射远程数据流的步骤包括将来自远地的RF远程输入信号发射到本地的步骤。
10.一种个人计算机(PC)接口系统,包括:
一个连接到-PC的本地PC接口单元,所连接的本地PC接口单元接收来自该PC的视频输出信号,该本地PC接口单元还连接多个本地输入设备,多个本地输入设备的每一个产生多个本地输入信号的一个以便控制该PC,所连接PC通过该本地PC接口单元接收该多个本地输入信号;
一个连接到TV的电视(TV)接口单元,所连接的TV接口单元通过第一无线链路接收来自本地PC接口单元的视频输出信号,其中配置TV显示该视频输出信号;
一个连接到多个远程输入设备的远程多路复用器,由多个远程输入设备产生的多个远程输入信号产生一个远程数据流,以便控制该PC;
一个连接到该远程多路复用器的多路分用器,将该远程数据流多路分用到多个远程输入信号中;以及
多个连接在该多路分用器和该PC之间的本地多路复用器,该多个本地多路复用器随着相应多个本地输入信号之每一个多路复用多个远程输入信号的每一个。
11.如权利要求10的PC接口系统,还包括连接在本地PC接口单元和多个远程输入设备之间的远程输入设备接口单元,该远程输入设备接口单元包括该远程多路复用器。
12.如权利要求11的PC接口系统,其中远程输入设备接口单元被无线连接到本地PC接口单元。
13.如权利要求11的PC接口系统,其中TV接口单元被连接在本地PC接口单元和远程输入设备接口单元之间。
14.如权利要求13的PC接口系统,其中远程输入设备接口单元被无线连接到TV接口单元。
15.如权利要求10的PC接口系统,其中本地计算机接口单元以从计算机接收音频输出信号,电视接口单元以通过第一无线链路从本地计算机接口单元接收音频输出信号。
16.如权利要求15的PC接口系统还包括连接到TV接口单元的音频再生设备,所配置的音频再生设备响应音频输出信号产生声音。
17.如权利要求16的PC接口系统,其中音频再生设备是TV。
18.如权利要求16的PC接口系统,其中音频再生设备是家庭立体声系统。
19.如权利要求10的PC接口系统,其中视频输出信号是视频图形适配器(VGA)视频信号,本地PC接口单元将VGA视频信号转化成国家电视标准委员会(NTSC)视频信号,本地PC接口单元还将NTSC视频信号转化成射频(RF)视频信号。
20.如权利要求19的PC接口系统,其中TV接口单元通过射频(RF)链路连接到本地PC接口单元。
21.如权利要求20的PC接口系统,其中TV接口单元将从本地PC接口单元接收的RF视频信号转化成适合在TV上显示的基带视频信号,连接电视机使电视机接收并显示该基带视频信号。
22.如权利要求12的PC接口系统,其中远程输入设备接口单元通过射频(RF)链路连接到本地PC接口单元。
23.如权利要求13的PC接口系统,其中远程输入设备接口单元通过射频链路连接到TV接口单元。
24.如权利要求13的PC接口系统,其中远程输入设备接口单元通过红外(IR)链路连接到TV接口单元。
