Abstract

                         技术领域
本发明涉及一种与个人数字助理(PDA)进行通信的服务器系统及其通信方法，尤其涉及一种与PDA进行通信的服务器系统及其通信方法，其中该服务器系统允许从服务器系统有选择地下载文件到PDA。
                         背景技术
由于一PDA包括一中央处理单元(CPU)、一存储器、一输入/输出设备等，所以当与服务器系统连接时，该PDA由自身处理信息，并且按照需要上载和下载文件和数据。
通常，在PDA和服务器系统之间的通信系统包括：一主服务器、一经网络连接到主服务器的子服务器、一连接到子服务器的数据收发信机、一具有多个PDA且每个PDA连接到数据收发信机的一端口的PDA部件、及一经公共网络以与PDA部件相同方式连接到子服务器的另一方的PDA。这里，PDA部件和PDA彼此之间能够经公共网络进行通信。
图1所示为与PDA进行通信的传统通信方法的流程图。
参见图1，如果按照文件传输协议(FTP)从主服务器得到的文件对应于发布到所有PDA用户的布告牌信息(步骤100)，或是所有PDA用户需要的公用文件(步骤102)，则将该文件存储在公用文件目录中(步骤104)。公用文件目录中的文件用于初始化PDA，并经数据收发信机下载到各PDA。
只对特定用户的文件存储在个人文件目录中(步骤106)，并且当用户初始化他们自己的PDA时经数据收发信机下载到PDA。
然而，在使用PDA的上述通信方法中，当存储在PDA中的信息内容改变或通过向其增加新的信息而使存储在PDA中的数据量增加时，所有文件或数据由于受到PDA存储器容量(约20兆字节)的限制而不能全部存储。另外，不管PDA用户是否需要，所有文件或数据都下载到PDA用户。
                         发明内容
为了解决上述问题，本发明的一个目的是提供一种与个人数字助理(PDA)进行通信的服务器系统及其通信方法，其中PDA能够从服务器有选择地下载文件或数据，从而有效地使用PDA的有限存储空间。
按照上述目的的一个方面，本发明提供了一种系统，其包括一产生要发布到多个用户的文件并存储该文件的服务器系统、一连接到该服务器系统的用于发送和接收服务器系统数据的数据收发信机、和连接到该数据收发信机的PDA，其中该服务器系统包括：一存储所有文件的数据部件；一选择器，用于按照用户的命令，从该数据部件提供的文件中选择要下载到该PDA的文件；一文件存储部件，用于存储由选择器所选择的文件；一控制器，用于根据用户将选择器选择的文件划分，由用户将文件存储到文件存储部件的不同目录中，并且，当用户需要时，只将存储在文件存储部件用户目录中的文件下载到用户的PDA。
按照上述目的的另一个方面，提供了一种通信方法，用于在一包括一产生要发布到多个用户的文件并存储该文件的服务器系统、一连接到该服务器系统的用于发送和接收服务器系统数据的数据收发信机、和连接到该数据收发信机的PDA的系统中的一个人数字助理(PDA)和一服务器系统之间进行通信，该通信方法包括步骤：(a)如果文件是所有用户都需要的，则在所有用户的目录中存储服务器系统的文件；(b)如果文件是新的或改变的，则在共用目录中存储服务器系统的文件；(c)在服务器系统的文件中，选择PDA用户的文件以下载到用户的PDA；(d)在共用目录中找到步骤(c)中选择的文件，并且将找到的文件存储在用户目录中；(e)将该PDA连接到数据收发信机，并下载存储在服务器系统的用户目录中的文件。

                        具体实施方式
参见图2，与个人数字助理(PDA)进行通信的服务器系统包括：一主服务器200、一经网络连接到主服务器200的子服务器220、一连接到子服务器的数据收发信机230、一具有多个PDA且每个PDA连接到数据收发信机230的一端口的PDA部件240、及一经公共网络以与PDA部件240相同方式连接到子服务器的PDA250。这里，PDA部件240与位于远地的PDA 250彼此之间能够经公共网络进行通信。
在主服务器和子服务器220之间依需要按照文件传输协议(FTP)传输数据。数据收发信机230是一输入输出设备，其连接到子服务器220，PDA部件240的多个PDA中的每一个都连接到数据收发信机230的一端口，从而实现通信。这里，FTP程序将来自主服务器200的数据存储在子服务器220中，并将来自PDA250或子服务器220的数据传输到主服务器200。
主服务器200包括：一选择器201、一控制器202、一文件存储部件203和一数据部件204。一PDA用户输入他自己的标识(ID)并利用选择器201选择期望的文件或数据下载。控制器202检查由选择器201选择的文件或数据的大小，以确定文件或数据的大小是否能被对应的PDA接纳，并将从数据部件204读取的文件或数据存储到由用户划分的文件存储部件203的相应目录中。文件存储部件203的目录包括：一INS目录，用于存储关于文件变化和新文件的信息；和一DLT目录，用于存储要被删除的文件表。另外，控制器202也与子服务器220进行通信。
图3是按照本发明的主服务器200的操作例子的流程图。在该例子中，PDA的主用户之一是一家保险公司的销售人员，其利用PDA有选择地下载来自服务器的保险业务的数据。
首先，检查在现存文件中有无变化(步骤305)。即，检查在保险业务的文件中有无变化。如果在步骤305中检查到有变化，则检查该变化是否是新文件生成(步骤310)。如果是一个新文件生成，则将新文件存储在INS目录中(步骤312)。即，如果在关于要发布给各PDA用户(即保险销售员)的新保险业务的文件中有变化，则将新业务的文件存储在INS目录中。
然而，如果该变化是由现存文件的变化导致的，而不是新文件的生成(步骤315)，则在INS目录中存储改变的文件(步骤317)，然后准备变化前的文件表(步骤319)。
另外，如果在步骤315中确定该变化不是由现存文件的变化产生的，则删除现存文件(步骤320)。即，删除所有对保险销售人员不需要的现存文件。然后，准备在步骤320中删除的文件的表(步骤322)，并且在DLT目录中存储步骤319中准备的改变前的文件表或步骤322中准备的删除文件的表(步骤324)。
一PDA用户可以选择是否接收或删除存储在各目录中的文件或现存文件。即，PDA用户可以查看由连接到主服务器200上的选择器201选择的保险业务的所有文件，以及当前由PDA用户使用的保险业务的文件。用户使用预定键和他们的ID号码可以增加新保险业务的文件或删除文件。这里，主服务器200检查关于保险业务的被选文件的程序和数据文件的大小是否为PDA接受。然后，如果文件大小超过了PDA的存储器容量，则将此事实指示给用户。
图4是说明由子服务器220进行的数据发布和处理的流程图。
参见图4，首先，检查来自主服务器200的文件是否是公用文件(步骤405)。如果文件不是共用文件，则在子服务器220的INS目录中存储该文件(步骤410)。在步骤410后，检查在INS目录中存储的该文件是否有用户(步骤412)。如果有该文件的用户，则将该文件存储在使用该文件的用户的目录中(步骤414)。
如果在步骤405确定文件是共用文件，则在共用目录中存储该文件(步骤420)。然后，检查用户是否选择了存储在他自己的PDA中的文件(步骤422)。如果是，则检查用户是否选择了所有文件(步骤424)。如果在步骤424中用户选择了所有文件，则将所有文件存储在用户的目录中(步骤426)。
如果在步骤424中用户没有选择所有文件，则检查用户是否选择了新文件(步骤430)。如果是，则在用户目录中存储选择的新文件(步骤432)。如果在步骤430中用户没有选择新文件，则将要被删除的文件表存储在用户目录中(步骤434)。
子服务器220使用FTP周期性地与主服务器200接触，以检查主服务器200的特定目录，如INS和DLT目录。如果一个文件存在于这些目录中，则子服务器220从这些目录中得到该文件，并执行图4所示的步骤。
如果子服务器220得到的文件是要发布到所有用户的共用文件(步骤405)，则该文件存储在子服务器220的共用目录中(步骤420)。然而，如果存储在子服务器220中的文件是INS目录中的文件，不是共用文件，即为关于新的或修改的保险业务的文件，则将该文件存储在子服务器220的INS目录中(步骤410)。如果正在使用该文件(步骤412)，则将该文件存储在用户目录中(步骤414)。主服务器200的DLT目录中的共用文件被存储在子服务器220的共用目录中(步骤420)。参照存储在DLT目录中的文件表，删除PDA的相应文件。检查用户是否选择了要被下载的文件(步骤422)。如果用户选择了所有业务表以初始化PDA(步骤424)，则主服务器200的保险业务的所有文件被存储在用户目录中(步骤426)。这里，初始化PDA意味着删除PDA中的所有文件并接收从子服务器220下载的新文件。如果用户选择了新文件而非所有业务文件(步骤430)，则从子服务器220的INS目录查找被选文件并存储在用户目录中(步骤432)。如果用户想要删除这些文件，则把要被删除的文件表存储在用户目录中(步骤434)。
当在子服务器220中完成文件发布和处理过程时，一PDA用户将他自己的PDA连接到数据收发信机230，从而下载这些目录的文件，并参照存储在DLT目录中的文件表删除PDA的相应文件或删除用户所选择删除的文件。
在按照本发明的与PDA进行通信的服务器系统及其通信方法中，当PDA产生一新文件或改变现存文件时，由服务器系统提供的文件被有选择地下载到该PDA，并且从PDA中删除用户不需要的文件。结果是，有效地使用了PDA的有限存储空间。

Claims (3)

1、一种系统，其包括一产生要发布到多个用户的文件并存储该文件的服务器系统、一连接到该服务器系统的用于发送和接收服务器系统数据的数据收发信机、和连接到该数据收发信机的个人数字助理，其中该服务器系统包括：
一存储所有文件的数据部件；
一选择器，用于按照用户的命令，从该数据部件提供的文件中选择要下载到该个人数字助理的文件；
一文件存储部件，用于存储由选择器所选择的文件；
一控制器，用于按用户划分由选择器选择的文件，按用户将所述文件存储到文件存储部件的不同目录中，并且，当用户需要时，只将存储在文件存储部件用户目录中的文件下载到用户的个人数字助理。
2、一种通信方法，用于在一包括产生要发布到多个用户的文件并存储该文件的服务器系统、一连接到该服务器系统的用于发送和接收服务器系统数据的数据收发信机、和连接到该数据收发信机的个人数字助理的系统中的该个人数字助理和该服务器系统之间进行通信，该通信方法包括步骤：
(a)如果文件是所有用户都需要的，则在所有用户的目录中存储服务器系统的文件；
(b)如果文件是新的或改变的，则在共用目录中存储服务器系统的文件；
(c)在服务器系统的文件中，选择个人数字助理用户的文件以下载到用户的个人数字助理；
(d)在共用目录中找到步骤(c)中选择的文件，并且将找到的文件存储在用户目录中；
(e)将该个人数字助理连接到数据收发信机，并下载存储在服务器系统的用户目录中的文件。
3、权利要求2的通信方法，还包括步骤：
(f)准备要被共同删除的文件的第一个表，并在所有用户的目录中存储该第一个表；
(g)准备在用户个人数字助理中存储的文件中要被删除的文件的第二个表，并在用户目录中存储该文件的第二个表；
(h)将用户的个人数字助理连接到数据收发信机，接收存储在服务器系统的用户自己目录中的要被删除的文件表，以及删除在来自个人数字助理的表中包括的文件。
