Abstract

Description

具有膨胀内壁的多腔室容器的制备方法
本发明涉及更均匀分配的多腔室容器的模制,更具体地说涉及具有横向膨胀的内腹壁的多腔室容器的吹模,以提供从容器的各腔室的更均匀的分配。
本发明广义地说涉及容器并且以管状容器作为较佳实施例。高度挠性的内腹壁在管状容器的构造中很有用,其具有均匀的分配特性。这使得施加到外表面上的分配力更均匀,该分配力由容器的各腔室中的材料承受。
管状容器被用于分配大量产品,包括食品、口腔保健品和个人保健品。它们特别被用于分配口腔保健品和个人保健品。这些产品是粘性材料如洗液、糊膏或者凝胶。目前管状容器主要用作单腔室管状容器,包括许多材料和许多生产工艺。这些管包括金属管、多层层压管、挤压管和吹模管。金属管通常是可压扁的铝管。多层层压管可以只包括聚合物层或者可以包括纸层和/或金属箔层。纸层是打印层,箔层是阻挡层及产生可压扁管的箔层。挤压管可以由切成所需长度的连续挤压管而制成。这可以是单层或者多层塑料结构。
在多数的层压管或者挤压管中,管主体分别由管肩和管嘴制得。管肩和管嘴可以注模并且然后连接到管主体上。如果不是这样形成和连接到主体上,则其可以压模到管主体上。在这种工艺中,管嘴和管肩的形成与和管主体连接同时进行。
目前的吹模管的制造是采用挤压吹模工艺制成单腔室形式。在此工艺中,材料被挤成管状,置于模具中,该模具具有所需的管状,并且气体如空气吹入挤压,按模具的形状挤压。然后管采取模具的形状,具有完全成形的管肩和管嘴以及侧壁。底部也将被封闭。管状容器可以从顶部充填,或者然后底部可以被切断,使得管可以从底部充填产品及底部密封。与多腔室层压管和挤压管不同,这些吹模管制造成成品的形式。不需要附加的对管肩和管嘴的连接。但是,本发明的吹模管是对目前采用的吹模管的改进,因为其能够制造成具有若干个腔室和高挠性的分隔壁。
近来由本发明者和其它人发展的一种较佳的吹模管状容器是由注射延伸吹模制造。这些管状容器具有高阻挡能力和高强度特性。通过塑料双轴向取向,对于给定的厚度,具有改善的强度。这些注射延伸吹模制造的容器可以是单层或者多层结构,并且可以是单腔室或者多腔室结构。
在各种制造多腔室管状容器的工艺中,有必要增大内腹壁的横向尺寸。这些内腹壁用于将管状容器分隔成若干个腔室。腹壁横向尺寸的增大有各种原因。一种原因是降低腹壁的刚性,另一个原因是当管状容器是底部充填然后卷边密封的情况下辅助下部卷边密封的形成,又一个原因是具有增大的横向尺寸的腹壁提供给腹壁以较大的挠性,继而导致材料从管状容器的腔室中的均匀分配。
在本发明中,管状容器基本上可以是任何形状。当腹壁处于受热的情况下,将各腔室中的杆例如延伸杆横向移动改变了内腹壁的横向尺寸,使得分隔腹壁变形为不同的横向宽度,如美国专利2,951,264中公开的。日本5254003公开了一种多段容器,其通过吹模制造。多段容器的不同段根据吹模过程中预型的扩展度有不同的厚度。
然而,腹壁变形为不同的横向宽度也可以通过在一个或者多个腔室中使用不同的气体压力来实现。这在各种工艺中都是当塑料处于玻璃转换温度的范围内并且可以在一个施加力作用下流动时进行的。并且腔室基本上可以是任何数目,尺寸和布置情况。通过使腹壁的宽度膨胀,腹壁的刚度减小,挠性增大,并且提供从容器中更均匀的分配。
本发明的方法解决怎样生产有用的多腔室容器,使之具有更均匀的分配特性,增大的强度,相对较薄和更小刚性的腹壁和减小分配后空气和产品被吸回管中的问题。提供一种方法,在制造容器的同时或者在晚一些时候,增大容器的内腹壁的横向尺寸。这些工艺对于采用挤压吹模和注射延伸吹模工艺制造的管特别有用。在这些工艺的每一个中,开始时腹壁跨过容器的横向尺寸而制造。这些腹壁必须被延伸而获得上述的特性及优点。
在吹模多腔室容器的生产中,腔室的内腹壁具有有限的挠性。这些腹壁的横向尺寸基本上等于容器的直径或者相关的横向尺寸。为了提供更均匀的分配,腹壁的横向尺寸应当增大。这将减小内腹壁的刚性并且增大这些腹壁的挠性。这也将辅助管状容器的卷边密封的形成,其中腹壁位于卷边密封中。本发明的工艺可以由任何工艺有效地用于增大腹壁的横向尺寸。不管怎样,当多腔室容器由吹模制造并且特别是当采用注射延伸吹模制造时这些工艺非常有用。在这些吹模过程中,一个预型被挤压或者注射成型。此预型与最终的容器具有同样多的腔室。此预型被加热到大约为塑料的玻璃转换温度并置于模具中,该模具具有容器所需的形状。然后将一种气体例如空气吹入容器中形成具有模具形状的预型。对于挤压吹模来说,一种气体例如空气被吹入到端部开口的挤压预型,使此预型具有模具的形状。对于注模延伸吹模来说,延伸杆被置入各腔室中,并且当延伸杆向下移动时注入一种气体或者流体,当横向吹制管的预型成为管的最终形状时,使管的预型纵向延伸。在一个较佳实施例中,管状容器形成有肩部和颈部,它们全部形成并且达到其位置。

横向延伸管的多腔室的分隔腹壁的一个方法是当内壁的塑料处于或者接近玻璃转换温度并且处于可流动状态时,横向移动杆,例如延伸杆。这将延伸与杆接触的内腹壁,使之比形成的横向尺寸更大。这将降低腹壁的刚性并且增大腹壁的挠性。内腹壁的横向尺寸可以达到管状容器的周长的一半。不管怎样,这将较好地控制从多腔室中分配物质。
一种附加的选择是在管状容器被吹制成形期间或者以后,通过改变在至少一个腔室中的压力,横向延伸管腔室的内腹壁。这在通过吹模而形成容器时是有用的,并且可以在腹壁的塑料处于可流动状态时,通过增大或者降低吹制过程中或者之后的腔室中的吹气压力来实现。这将增大腹壁的横向尺寸,导致腹壁的挠性增大以及改善对从管状容器的腔室中分配物质的控制。较好地是,在压差步骤中在腔室中设有杆,从而辅助腹壁的横向延伸。
本发明解决制造多腔室管状容器,特别是吹模管状容器的问题,其具有改善的从各腔室中分配的控制。这将通过提供具有比管状容器的横向尺寸大的横向尺寸的分隔腹壁来实现。内腹壁的较大的挠性提供了施加给整个容器的分配力的更均匀的分布。

本发明将参照附图进行更详细的描述。虽然不限定为管状容器,但是以管状容器作为较佳实施例进行描述。图1示意地描绘了制造吹模制造的管状容器的过程。第一步是模制预型。这通常是挤压或者注模。如果不是在一个模具中,则预型大约在玻璃转换温度下被置于一个模具中,该模具的内表面具有所制造的管状容器的形状。然后注入气体使预型延伸至模壁。如果预型是被注射延伸吹模制造的,则一个或者多个延伸杆被插入到预型中。通常对于多腔室管状容器在各腔室中有至少一个延伸杆。当预型所处的温度是大约塑料的玻璃转换温度时,延伸杆向下移动使塑料纵向延伸。在适当的时间,气体如干空气在压力下流入预型。该气体压力横向地压迫该预型的壁直到它们接触模具的内表面。这个冷的模具表面使塑料冷却,使得它保持该形状。该模具通常由传热流体流经模具而将其保持在一定的温度范围内。模制通常大约在树脂的玻璃转换温度下进行。

本发明的吹模的管状容器具有高强度和均匀的分配特性。该管状容器可以由任何能够被延伸吹模的材料制造。较佳的材料是聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯,聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯,改性聚对苯二甲酸乙二醇酯,改性聚萘二甲酸乙二醇酯,这些聚酯的混合物和聚丙烯。用于吹模管状容器的流体通常是干空气,但是其它流体如氮、二氧化碳或者各种惰性气体或者流体能够使用。

Claims (9)

1.一种用于制造具有若干个纵向安置的腔室的容器的方法,包括:
(a)形成一个所述容器的预型,所述预型具有至少一个内腹壁分隔若干个纵向安置的腔室,所述至少一个内腹壁从所述预型的一端延伸到另一端;
(b)将所述预型置入一个模具并且通过至少向所述预型吹入一种气体而延伸所述预型以形成具有所述模具形状的容器;所述容器具有至少一个内腹壁分隔所述若干个纵向安置的腔室,一个分配开口在一端,并且具有封闭的另一端,所述至少一个内腹壁从所述容器的一端延伸到另一端;和
(c)其特征在于,在所述多个腔室的至少一个相对于多个腔室中的另一个提供一个气体压差,以增大所述至少一个内壁的横向尺寸,使之在形成所述容器时大于所述至少一个内腹壁的尺寸。
2.一种如权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,所述容器是一种管状容器。
3.一种如权利要求1的方法,其特征在于,当所述气体被吹入所述预型时所述预型的各腔室被纵向延伸。
4.一种如权利要求3的方法,其特征在于,所述纵向延伸是通过至少一个延伸杆延伸进入所述预型的各腔室而完成的,所述至少一个延伸杆纵向移动来使所述预型延伸。
5.一种如权利要求4的方法,其特征在于,在加热状态下所述至少一个腹壁的横向尺寸被延长。
6.一种如权利要求5的方法,其特征在于,当将一种气体吹入预型而使预型形成容器后,在一个腔室与另一个腔室之间形成压力差,通过延伸所述至少一个内腹壁以增加所述至少一个内腹壁的横向尺寸。
7.一种如权利要求6的方法,其特征在于,具有至少两个腔室,一个所述腔室中的压力与另一个腔室中的压力不同,从而增加所述至少一个内腹壁的横向尺寸。
8.一种如权利要求6的方法,其特征在于,在所述气体存在压差期间,较低的气体压力的腔室中有至少一个杆。
9.一种如权利要求7的方法,其特征在于,所述容器是一种管状容器。
