Abstract

技术领域
本发明涉及用于处理视频信号并且将由此经过处理的视频信号发送到视频显示器的视频控制单元。通常被称为“机顶盒”(STB)的这样的视频控制单元用作连接到视频显示器(TV接收器)以及一个或多个外部信号源，诸如圆盘式卫星电视天线(satellite dish)、供应TV信号的同轴电缆、普通的VHF或UHF天线、以太网电缆或者甚至具有DSL连接的电话线。机顶盒的基本功能是选择并且处理输入信号，使得可以在所连接的视频显示器上适当地显示该输入信号。
发明内容
本发明的目的是提供机顶盒，其在所有的实际情况下给予用户可能的最佳画面质量，同时信号优化在很大程度上自动进行，使得终端用户几乎无事可做。出于该原因，本发明的视频控制单元的第一方面的特征在于：该视频控制单元包括其中存储一般画面校正信息的非易失性存储器以及用于将该一般画面校正信息发送到视频显示器以便使得用户能够优化视频显示器的部件。优选地，该视频控制单元的特征还在于：当启动该视频控制单元时将该一般画面校正信息发送到该视频显示器。
在本申请中，认为术语“一般画面校正信息”是指这样的信息：其可被发送到任何类型或者品牌的视频显示器，并且利用该信息用户可以容易地优化诸如画面的对比度、亮度、色彩(饱和度)、色调(色度)以及锐度之类的参数。一般画面校正信息可以例如包括3个或者4个静止画面测试图案。这样的本质上公知的测试图案可以帮助用户优化他的显示器的一般参数。
对于此操作，可以使用机顶盒与视频显示器之间的任何连接-模拟的(SCART、分量、复合或者Y-C连接器)或者数字的(HDMITM)。同样，可以包含任何类型的显示器-从监视器到背面投影、CRT或者平板TV。当启动机顶盒时，将用于设置显示器的特定屏幕界面地址“画面校正”从机顶盒传送到显示器。当被激活时，静止画面测试图案被发送到TV。接着，应用程序要求终端用户设置他的显示器的亮度、色彩、对比度、色调以及锐度的正确值。像往常一样，将新的值存储在视频显示器中以便将来使用，使得一般画面校正信息的设置仅需要进行一次。
优选地，根据本发明的视频控制单元的特征还可以在于：用于从所接收的视频信号中提取关于内容的性质(所使用的标准清晰度或者高清晰度、Pal或者NTSC相关的压缩系统等等)的内容信息表(DVB-SI表)的部件、以及用于在将视频信号发送到视频显示器之前使用所述内容信息表来对于该内容的性质适配视频信号的部件。通过此手段，对于被发送到视频显示器的视频信号的校正或者修改，用户所观看的内容的类型被考虑。此手段考虑在经过处理的视频信号是高清晰度或者标准清晰度、关于标准清晰度下的体育赛事或者演出等等的情况下视频参数的设置是不同的。
可以从DVB SI表(cfETSI EN 300 468 vl.7.1 2005-08)中提取关于视频信号的内容的有价值的信息。我们可以特别关注服务描述表(SDT)，其被用于列出服务的名称以及其它参数。在此表中，有两个特别感兴趣的描述符：
第一个是“成分描述符”，其给出我们以下的信息：标准清晰度或者高清晰度的内容、MPEG2或者H264/AVC视频压缩系统、PAL相关的或者NTSC相关的系统(25Hz或者30Hz)。
第二个是“内容描述符”，其给出内容类型的一些更多的信息，诸如电影/戏剧、新闻/时事、演出、游戏、体育、音乐......
另外，根据本发明的视频控制单元的特征可以在于：用户界面，其使得用户能够输入关于连接到视频控制单元的特定类型的视频显示器(LCD、等离子体、阴极射线管、视频投影仪、背面投影仪)的参数；用于存储所述特定类型参数的部件、以及用于使用所述参数以便适配要发送到特定类型的显示器的视频信号。当启动视频控制单元时，可以在机顶盒的用户界面上显示窗口。应用程序然后要求用户选择连接到机顶盒的视频显示器的类型-LCD、或者等离子体、或者CRT、或者视频投影仪、或者背面投影仪。当这被完成一次时，将信息存储在机顶盒中，以用于将来所有的场合。
机顶盒现在知道用于显示画面的所接收的内容的类型(诸如比特率、压缩技术、TV系统、高清晰度)以及所使用的显示器技术的类型(诸如LCD、等离子体)。利用所有这些信息，适配该内容以便得到最佳画面变得非常容易，而不再需要由终端用户执行校正。
由机顶盒进行的动作例如包括：
-适配机顶盒的伽马滤波器，
-微调画面增强算法(例如LTI滤波器)，
-微调去块/去振铃(deringing)算法，即，如果比特率足够好，则将该算法最小化或者抑制该算法。
在视频显示器通过HDMI连接连接到视频控制单元的情况下，用于输入关于特定类型的视频显示器的参数的用户界面可被施行(dispense)，并且本发明的视频控制单元的特征可以在于以下部件，即，用于通过HDMI标准中的特定描述符接收关于特定类型的视频显示器(LCD、等离子体、CRT、视频投影仪、背面投影仪)的参数的部件、用于存储所述特定类型参数的部件、以及用于使用所述参数以便适配要发送到特定类型的显示器的视频信号的部件。

具体实施方式
图1的视频控制单元包括通常元件，诸如调谐器1、解调级2、用于对所接收的视频和音频信号进行解复用的解复用器3、视频解码器4、音频解码器5以及用于处理经过解码的视频和音频信号的后处理电路6。在图1的框图中，箭头指示各块之间的主要信号传输。
通过音频/视频开关7将来自后处理电路6的信号经由HDMI分析器13施加到数字HDMI输出9，或者将该来自后处理电路6的信号通过音频/视频开关7施加到模拟输出8。此模拟输出典型地可以是SCART、分量或者复合连接器。
图1的视频控制单元还包括非易失性存储器10。此非易失性存储器已经存储了一般画面校正信息，诸如例如具有彩色条的图、具有多波群条(multiburst bar)的图、以及便于视频显示器的亮度和对比度设置的图。将此信息应用到后处理电路，在那里将此信息添加到视频控制单元的视频频道并且由此发送到连接到视频控制单元的视频显示器。
在解复用器3中从视频信号中提取关于所接收的视频信号的内容的性质的信息，并将该信息存储在易失性存储器11中。在后处理电路6中使用此信息以适当地修改视频信号，例如修改该信号的比特率。
最后，还将关于视频显示器的类型的特定信息存储在易失性存储器11中，并将该特定信息应用到后处理电路。此特定信息可以由用户借助用户界面12输入，并存储在易失性存储器11中，并且随后在后处理电路6中使用该特定信息以修改信号。用户界面12可以优选地包括显示如图2所示的选择菜单的界面显示。或者，在将视频显示器通过HDMI接口9连接到视频控制单元的情况下，通过HDMI分析器13自动收集此特定信息，并且在将该特定信息发送到视频显示器上以便确认之前、将该特定信息发送到易失性存储器11。

Claims (5)

1.一种视频控制单元，用于处理视频信号，并且将由此经过处理的视频信号发送到视频显示器，该视频控制单元的特征在于：该视频控制单元包括其中存储一般画面校正信息的非易失性存储器(10)以及用于将该一般画面校正信息发送到该视频显示器以便使得用户能够优化该视频显示器的部件(6，7，8，9)。
2.如权利要求1所述的视频控制单元，其特征在于：当启动该视频控制单元时，将该一般画面校正信息发送到该视频显示器。
3.如权利要求1所述的视频控制单元，其特征在于：用于从所接收的视频信号中提取关于内容的性质的内容信息表(DVB-SI表)的部件(3)、以及用于在将该视频信号发送到该视频显示器之前使用所述内容信息表来对于该内容的性质适配该视频信号的部件(6)。
4.如权利要求1所述的视频控制单元，其特征在于：使得用户能够输入关于连接到视频控制单元的特定类型的视频显示器的参数的用户界面(12)；用于存储所述特定类型参数的部件(11)、以及用于使用所述参数以便适配要发送到特定类型的显示器的视频信号的部件(6)。
5.如权利要求1所述的视频控制单元，其包括用于连接到该视频显示器的HDMI连接器(9)，该视频控制单元的特征在于：用于通过该HDMI连接器接收关于特定类型的视频显示器的参数的部件(13)、用于存储所述特定类型参数的部件(10)、以及用于使用所述参数以便适配要发送到特定类型的显示器的视频信号的部件(6)。
