图1b与图1a相似,不同之处在于PET膜组件106没有完全层压到LCD模块110。代之以可在它们之间形成气隙120,并且可围绕触摸屏的周边形成Poron(聚氨酯泡棉)环122。气隙允许在需要修理、更换或升级时更容易地将触摸屏与LCD模块分离。防反射(AR)涂层可涂敷在毗邻于气隙的一个或两个表面以最小化反射和相关联的对比率劣化。
图1c在包括气隙120方面与图1b相似,但它可安装到具有悬垂边框(overhanging bezel)124的机壳中。这较为便宜,因为边框124可以隐藏在触摸屏的边界区域中形成的电互连,这可以消除对黑掩模的需求。另外,这一配置可以比较便宜还因为外壳可以覆盖触摸玻璃 的边缘,从而消除对磨光和抛光步骤的需求。玻璃组件132可以与图1的玻璃组件100相等同。

图3c与图3a相似,不同之处在于钝化层301是在图案319和 PSA 309之间以及在图案350与PSA 314之间形成的。钝化层301可由二氧化硅形成,并且可用于防止PSA中的酸腐蚀图案化的ITO。钝化层301还可在物理上保护ITO和金属层不受其它腐蚀剂伤害,诸如在制造过程期间来自装配员的汗,并且可以在物理上保护ITO和金属层不会在装配期间受到抓划。应当理解,尽管在ITO图案与PSA之间使用钝化层仅在图3c中示出,但钝化层可以在本文描述和示出的任何实施例中在ITO或金属与PSA之间形成。

图11b与图11a相似,不同之处在于没有在外壳1118中形成硬膜或玻璃和黑掩模。
图11c与图11b相似,不同之处在于玻璃组件1176没有完全层压到LCD模块1110。代之以在它们之间形成气隙1120,并且围绕玻璃组件1176的周边形成Poron环1122。

图17c例示按照本发明一个实施例的具有可在两个独立的顶部PET膜1708和底部PET膜1724上形成的列和行的示例性触摸屏传感器面板层叠。光学透明粘合剂1726可用于结合在覆盖1700和可包括LCD偏振器1728、LCD顶部玻璃1730和LCD底部玻璃1732的LCD模块之间的顶部和底部PET膜。
图18例示按照本发明实施例的可用于上述触摸屏层叠的示例性计算系统1800。可包括传感器面板1842和显示设备1840的触摸屏1842可通过在传感器面板上集成地形成的连接器或者使用柔性电路连接至计算系统1800中的其它组件。计算系统1800可包括一个或多个面板处理器1802和外设1804以及面板子系统1806。一个或多个处理器1802可包括例如ARM968处理器或其它具有相似功能性和能力的处理器。然而在其它实施例中面板处理器功能性可以代替地由专用逻辑诸如状态机实现。外设1804可包括但不限于随机存取存储器(RAM)或其它类型的存储器或存储、监视计时器等等。
面板子系统1806可包括但不限于一个或多个模拟信道1808、信道扫描逻辑1810和驱动器逻辑1814。信道扫描逻辑1810可访问RAM1812、自治地从模拟信道读取数据并为模拟信道提供控制。该控制可包括将多点触摸面板1824的列多路复用至模拟信道1808。另外,信道扫描逻辑1810控制驱动器逻辑和被有选择地应用于多点触摸面板1824的行的激励信号。在一些实施例中,面板子系统1806、面板处理器1802和外设1804可集成到单一专用集成电路(ASIC)中。
驱动器逻辑1814可提供多个面板子系统输出1816并且可提供驱动高电压驱动器1818的专用接口。高电压驱动器1818提供从低电压电平(例如互补金属氧化物半导体(CMOS)电平)移至更高电压电平的电平,为噪声减少提供较佳的信噪(S/N)比。面板子系统输出1816可被发送至解码器1820和电平移动器/驱动器1838,后者通过专用接口有选择地将一个或多个高电压驱动器输出连接至一个或多个面板行输入1822并且允许在高电压驱动器1818中使用较少的高电压驱动器电路。每个面板行输入1822可驱动多点触摸面板1824中的一个或多行。在一些实施例中,高电压驱动器1818和解码器1820可集成到单一ASIC中。然而,在其它实施例中,高电压驱动器1818和解码器1820可集成到驱动器逻辑1814中,而在又一些实施例中则可以完全消除高电压驱动器1818和解码器1820。
计算系统1800还可包括主机处理器1828,用于接收来自面板处理器1802的输出并基于该输出执行动作,这些动作包括但不限于移动诸如光标或指示器之类的对象、滚动或扫视、调整控制设置、打开文件或文档、察看菜单、作出选择、执行指令、操作连接到主机设备的外设、应答电话呼叫、发出电话呼叫、终止电话呼叫、改变音量或音频设置、存储诸如地址、常拨号码、接收呼叫、丢失呼叫之类的有关电话通信的信息、登录到计算机或计算机网络上、允许授权个人访问计算机或计算机网络的受限制区域、加载关联于用户的优选计算机桌面配置的用户简档、允许访问web内容、启动特定程序、加密或解码消息等等。主机处理器1828还可执行与面板处理无关的其它功能, 并且可耦接至程序存储1832和显示设备1840诸如用于为设备用户提供用户界面(UI)的LCD。
如上所述,多点触摸面板1824在一些实施例中可包括具有由电介质分隔开的多个行迹线或驱动线和多个列迹线或感测线的容性感测介质。在一些实施例中,电介质材料是透明的,诸如PET或玻璃。行和列迹线可由透明的导电介质诸如ITO或氧化锑锡(ATO)形成,但也可使用其它不透明的材料诸如铜。在一些实施例中,行和列迹线相互垂直,但在其它实施例中不垂直取向是可能的。例如,在极坐标系统中,感测线是同心圆而驱动线是径向延伸线(或反之亦然)。因此应当理解,如本文使用的术语“行”和“列”、“第一维度”和“第二维度”或者“第一轴”和“第二轴”旨在不仅包含正交网格,还包括具有第一和第二维度的其它几何配置的交叉迹线(例如极坐标配置方案中的同心和径向线)。
在迹线的“交叉点”,迹线可在彼此上下(但没有使它们彼此直接电接触)通过,迹线实质上形成两个电极。行和列迹线的每个交叉点表示容性感测节点并且可视为图片元素(像素)1826,它在多点触摸面板1824视为捕捉触摸的“图像”时特别有用。(换言之,在面板子系统1806已经确定在多点触摸面板1824中的每个触摸传感器处是否已经检测到触摸事件之后,在其中发生了触摸事件的多点触摸面板中的触摸传感器的图案可视为触摸的“图像”(例如触摸面板的手指的图案))。当两个电极处于不同电位时,每个像素具有固有的自电容或在像素的行与列电极之间形成的互电容。如果AC信号应用于这些电极之一,诸如通过以特定频率的AC电压激励行电极,可在电极之间形成电场和AC或信号电容,称为Csig。通过测量Csig的变化,可检测到靠近或放在多点触摸面板1824上的手指或其它物体的存在。多点触摸面板1824的列可驱动面板子系统1806中的一个或多个模拟信道1808。在一些实施例中,每个列可耦合至一个专用的模拟信道1808。然而,在其它实施例中,列通过模拟开关能够耦接至较少数量的模拟信道1808。
上述触摸屏层叠可有利地在图18的系统中使用以提供具有空间效率的触摸传感器面板和UI。
图19a例示按照本发明实施例可包括触摸屏层叠和上述计算系统的示例性移动电话1936。PSA 1934可用于将传感器面板1924结合至显示设备(例如LCD模块)1930。图19b例示按照本发明实施例的可包括触摸屏层叠和上述计算系统的示例性数字音频/视频播放器1940。图19a和19b的移动电话和数字音频/视频播放器可有利地从上述触摸屏层叠得益,因为触摸屏层叠能让这些设备更小且更便宜,这些是对消费者愿望和商业成功有着显著影响的重要消费因素。
尽管已经结合本发明的实施例并参考附图完全描述了本发明,但要注意,各种改变或修改对于本领域技术人员将变得显而易见。这样的改变和修改要理解为包括在由所附权利要求书定义的本发明的范围之内。
Claims (32)
1.一种多点触摸传感器面板,包括:
玻璃组件,其具有能够被触摸的前侧和与所述前侧相对的后侧;
在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成的第一基本透明导电材料的多个第一迹线;
第二基本透明导电材料的多个第二迹线;
耦接在第一迹线和第二迹线之间的电介质材料,其中第二迹线和第一迹线取向为在被所述电介质材料分隔开的交叉位置处彼此交叉,所述交叉位置形成用于检测所述玻璃组件的前侧上的一个或多个触摸的互电容传感器;
耦接至所述玻璃组件的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)组件,所述PET组件具有在其上形成的一片连续的导电材料以便将第一迹线与液晶显示模块屏蔽开;
耦接至所述PET组件的所述液晶显示模块;以及
设置在所述液晶显示模块和所述PET组件之间的气隙。
2.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,其中第一基本透明导电材料和第二基本透明导电材料相同。
3.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,还包括用于隐藏电互连的在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成的掩模层。
4.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,其中所述电介质材料在所述玻璃组件的后侧上的第一迹线之上形成,以便创建用于形成后续导电层的平面化层。
5.如权利要求4的多点触摸传感器面板,其中第二迹线在所述玻璃组件的后侧上的所述电介质材料之上形成。
6.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,其中,所述液晶显示模块包括液晶显示器。
7.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,还包括耦接至所述玻璃组件的玻璃上芯片,所述玻璃上芯片包括传感器面板电路。
8.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,其中,所述PET组件形成所述电介质材料并且第二迹线被形成在所述PET组件的底侧上。
9.如权利要求1的多点触摸传感器面板,所述多点触摸传感器面板结合在计算系统内。
10.如权利要求9的多点触摸传感器面板,所述计算系统结合在移动电话内。
11.如权利要求9的多点触摸传感器面板,所述计算系统结合在数字音频播放器内。
12.一种包括多点触摸传感器面板的移动电话,所述多点触摸传感器面板包括:
玻璃组件,其具有能够被触摸的前侧和与所述前侧相对的后侧;
在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成的第一基本透明导电材料的多个第一迹线;
第二基本透明导电材料的多个第二迹线;
耦接在第一迹线和第二迹线之间的电介质材料,其中第二迹线和第一迹线取向为在被所述电介质材料分隔开的交叉位置处彼此交叉,所述交叉位置形成用于检测所述玻璃组件的前侧上的一个或多个触摸的互电容传感器;
耦接至所述玻璃组件的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)组件,所述PET组件具有在其上形成的一片连续的导电材料以便将第一迹线与液晶显示模块屏蔽开;
耦接至所述PET组件的所述液晶显示模块;以及
设置在所述液晶显示模块和所述PET组件之间的气隙。
13.一种包括多点触摸传感器面板的数字音频播放器,所述多点触摸传感器面板包括:
玻璃组件,其具有能够被触摸的前侧和与所述前侧相对的后侧;
在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成的第一基本透明导电材料的多个第一迹线;
第二基本透明导电材料的多个第二迹线;
耦接在第一迹线和第二迹线之间的电介质材料,其中第二迹线和第一迹线取向为在被所述电介质材料分隔开的交叉位置处彼此交叉,所述交叉位置形成用于检测所述玻璃组件的前侧上的一个或多个触摸的互电容传感器;
耦接至所述玻璃组件的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)组件,所述PET组件具有在其上形成的一片连续的导电材料以便将第一迹线与液晶显示模块屏蔽开;
耦接至所述PET组件的所述液晶显示模块;以及
设置在所述液晶显示模块和所述PET组件之间的气隙。
14.一种多点触摸传感器面板,包括:
多个互电容传感器,所述多个互电容传感器由通过电介质材料间隔开的第一基本透明导电材料的多个第一迹线和第二基本透明导电材料的多个第二迹线形成,所述多个第一迹线和第二迹线取向为在被所述电介质材料分隔开的交叉位置处彼此交叉,所述交叉位置形成所述互电容传感器,其中所述多个第一迹线和所述多个第二迹线之一或两者在玻璃组件的后侧上形成,所述玻璃组件具有能够被触摸的与所述后侧相对的前侧;
耦接至所述玻璃组件的聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)组件,所述PET组件具有在其上形成的一片连续的导电材料以便将第一迹线与液晶显示模块屏蔽开;
耦接至所述PET组件的所述液晶显示模块;以及
设置在所述液晶显示模块和所述PET组件之间的气隙。
15.如权利要求14的多点触摸传感器面板,其中第一基本透明导电材料和第二基本透明导电材料相同。
16.如权利要求14的多点触摸传感器面板,还包括用于隐藏电互连的在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成的掩模层。
17.如权利要求14的多点触摸传感器面板,其中所述电介质材料在所述玻璃组件的后侧上的第一迹线之上形成,以便创建用于形成后续导电层的平面化层。
18.如权利要求17的多点触摸传感器面板,其中第二迹线在所述玻璃组件的后侧上的所述电介质材料之上形成。
19.如权利要求14的多点触摸传感器面板,其中,当仅所述多个第一迹线在玻璃组件的后侧上形成时,所述PET组件形成所述电介质材料并且第二迹线被形成在所述PET组件的底侧上。
20.如权利要求19的多点触摸传感器面板,还包括耦接至所述玻璃组件的玻璃上芯片,所述玻璃上芯片包括传感器面板电路。
21.一种用于形成多点触摸传感器面板的方法,包括:
在具有能够被触摸的前侧和与所述前侧相对的后侧的玻璃组件的后侧上形成第一基本透明导电材料的多个第一迹线;
将电介质材料层定位在第一迹线和第二基本透明导电材料的多个第二迹线之间;和
将第二迹线和第一迹线取向为在被所述电介质材料分隔开的交叉位置处彼此交叉,所述交叉位置形成用于检测所述玻璃组件的前侧上的一个或多个触摸的互电容传感器;
将聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)组件耦接至所述玻璃组件,并且在所述PET组件上形成一片连续的导电材料以便将第一迹线与液晶显示模块屏蔽开;
将所述液晶显示模块耦接至所述PET组件,其中在所述液晶显示模块和所述PET组件之间设置气隙。
22.如权利要求21的方法,其中第一基本透明导电材料和第二基本透明导电材料相同。
23.如权利要求21的方法,还包括在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成用于隐藏电互连的掩模层。
24.如权利要求21的方法,还包括在所述玻璃组件的后侧上的第一迹线之上形成所述电介质材料,以便创建用于形成后续导电层的平面化层。
25.如权利要求24的方法,还包括在所述玻璃组件后侧上的所述电介质材料之上形成第二迹线。
26.如权利要求21的方法,还包括将玻璃上芯片耦接到所述玻璃组件,所述玻璃上芯片包括传感器面板电路。
27.一种用于形成多点触摸传感器面板的方法,包括:
通过形成由电介质材料间隔开的第一基本透明导电材料的多个第一迹线和第二基本透明导电材料的多个第二迹线的分层结构形成多个互电容传感器,并且将所述多个第一迹线和第二迹线取向为在被所述电介质材料分隔开的交叉位置处彼此交叉,所述交叉位置形成所述互电容传感器,其中所述多个第一迹线和所述多个第二迹线之一或两者在玻璃组件的后侧上形成,所述玻璃组件具有能够被触摸的与所述后侧相对的前侧;
将聚对苯二甲酸乙二酯(PET)组件耦接至所述玻璃组件,并且在所述PET组件上形成一片连续的导电材料以便将第一迹线与液晶显示模块屏蔽开;
将所述液晶显示模块耦接至所述PET组件,其中在所述液晶显示模块和所述PET组件之间设置气隙。
28.如权利要求27的方法,其中第一基本透明导电材料和第二基本透明导电材料相同。
29.如权利要求27的方法,还包括在所述玻璃组件的后侧上形成用于隐藏电互连的掩模层。
30.如权利要求27的方法,还包括在所述玻璃组件的后侧上的第一迹线之上形成所述电介质材料,以便创建用于形成后续导电层的平面化层。
31.如权利要求30的方法,还包括在所述玻璃组件后侧上的所述电介质材料之上形成第二迹线。
32.如权利要求27的方法,还包括将玻璃上芯片耦接到所述玻璃组件,所述玻璃上芯片包括传感器面板电路。
