Abstract

The name of an application program, storage location information, and a download flag (F) are contained in an application management table (TBL) stored in a table area (14b) of an EEPROM (14) of a mobile telephone (MS). T he flag (F) indicates whether or not the application is a downloaded one. A CPU (11) changes the value of the download flag corresponding to an application program downloaded from an IP server (W) to 1 . When the application program is executed, the CPU (11) reads the download flag (F) corresponding to the application program and display a predetermined image on a liquid crystal display unit (MS4) if the download flag indicates 1 .

Claims (15)

1. A terminal device comprising:
storage means for storing a plurality of applications; and application executing means for executing an application stored in the storage means, and for giving a user a notification on the basis of a source of an application being executed.
2. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 1, wherein said application executing means determines a source of an application on the basis of an installation method of the application.
3. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 1, wherein said application executing means changes said notification on the basis of whether said application being executed is downloaded from a network.
4. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 1, wherein said application executing means changes said notification on the basis of whether said application being executed is read out from an external storage medium.
5. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 2, wherein said application executing means changes said notification on the basis of whether reliability of said application being executed is guaranteed by a third party which is different from a provider of said application.
6. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 5, wherein said application stored in said storage means includes an application downloaded from a network via a relay device; and said application executing means determines whether reliability of the application is guaranteed on the basis of whether there is a predetermined identifier added by said relay device.
7. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 1, wherein said storage means comprises:
first storage means for storing an application obtained from external storage medium; and second storage means for storing a preinstalled application;
wherein said application executing means changes said notification on the basis of whether said application being executed is from said first storage means or from said second storage means.
8. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 1 further comprising:
display means for displaying various information under control of said application executing means; and wherein said application executing means displays by image on said display means said notification that differs on the basis of source of application.
9. A terminal device as set forth in Claim 8, wherein said display means display an image for an application executed by said application executing means on a first displaying area, and an image for said notification information on a second displaying area that is independent from said first displaying area.
10. A method for having a terminal device to execute an application, comprising the steps of:
causing a terminal device to download an application from a network;
causing said terminal device to store said application in a storage unit in relation to a download identifier showing that said application is a downloaded application; and causing said terminal device, if a download identifier is related to an application when executing said application, to display a predetermined image on a displaying unit of said terminal device.
11. A method for having a terminal device to execute an application, comprising the steps of:
causing said terminal device to download an application from a network through a relay server; and causing said terminal device, if said terminal device finds an identifier attached by a relay server on said application when executing said application, to display a predetermined image on a display of said terminal device.
12. A program product for having a computer to perform a process comprising the steps of:
downloading an application from a network by using a communication unit;
storing said application in a storage unit in relation to a download identifier showing that said application is a downloaded application; and displaying a predetermined image on a displaying unit of said terminal device, if a download identifier is related to said application when said application is being executed.
13. A computer-readable medium for storing a program product for having a computer perform a process comprising the steps of:
downloading an application from a network by using a communication unit;
storing said application in a storage unit in relation to a download identifier showing the application is a downloaded application; and displaying a predetermined image on a display of said terminal device, if a download identifier is related to said application when said application is being executed.
14. A relay device for relaying data between a first network and a second network, the relay device comprising:
receiving means for receiving data from said first network; and forwarding means for forwarding data received by said receiving means to said second network, and for adding a predetermined identifier to said data when reliability of said data is not assured by a third authority that is different from the source of said data.
15. A relay device as set forth in Claim 14, wherein:~
data received by the receiving means from said first network is sent by a server connected to said first network; and said forwarding means determines whether reliability of said data is assured on the basis of identification of the server that sends said data received by said receiving means.
