Description
WO 96/36~05 PCT/DE96Joo~54 Sanitary PantJ wlth ~antfi Component and ~bsorbQnt Pad The invention c~ncerA~ 6anitary pants with a pants component aAd a~
ab~orbent pad with the additional features of the prea~ble of the patent claim.
As prior art, textile sanltary pants are known that are formed with or witho~t removable absorbent pads for lnfant~, small chlldren, incontinent -persons of any age, as well a~, for example, women for menstrual hygiene. Sani~ary pants of this sort are known only ln the form o~ non-reusable pa~ts, w~ich must be viewed as di~advantageous with respect to both economy and ecology.
Further~ore, as an al~ernative to the non-reu5able prodùcts, reusable sanitary panes are known. Here one discerns models with absorbent pads that are permanen~ly fastened or sewn in, which has the dlsadvantage that the entire pants together with the absorbent pad m~st be washed and drled, which involves considerable drying time, particularly in the cooler Yeasons or in the winter. BGyond that, a complete and thorough drying-out of such reusable panes ls not ensu~ed, so that in the long run mildew, mold, ar fungus form~tion can occur, and therewith hygienically u~desirable concomitant effects can appear.
other reusable pant posses3 ~bsorbcnt elements that are detachable f~om the outer pan~, whlch olem~ntc can bQ wa~hed separatelyl however, due to their solid form, these elements have a relatively great thickness, so that once again the problem of complete, thorough drying and long-term hygienic consistency ~appears].

regions, whereby all of these p~nts components are ~oined ~ogether through keing 3titched up, glued together, welded together, or by some other technology. In ~hia way ~he proposed sanit4ry pan~a have a multi-~ectional co~s~ruction that can be indlvidually ~dapted to the ~nacomlc~l condi~ion~ of lnrants, a~ll ch~ldren, or ad~l~s throu~h a p~ticular ~ccom~odaeion of the cent~l section to che le~

W0 96/36305 ~C~D~96/00854 Absorbent pads of dif~erent measurements can ~e put into the proposed sanitary pants, which pads can be secured by fastenlng elemencs for protection against slipping By ~an~ of these ~a~tenlng elements, a detachable connection between t~e covering region~ and the central section as well as, if necessary, the leg sections of the sanitary pants can be produced, whereby the ab~orbent pad put $n between covering region and central section or leg section, as the case may be, i9 taken up so a~ to be secure agains~ slipping.
Advantageously, Velcro~ fn~tener6, hooklet faJtener~, or snap fasteners are used as fastening element~, whereby dif~erent factening principles can be applied by sectors in a single pair of ~anitary pants. Thus, for example, in regione of low stress and frequent detaching a Velcro~ fastener can be used, while at other spots a rugged hooklet fastener of greater load-bearin~ capaclty can find application.
Advantageou~ly, the respective fa~tening elements are formed of two parts, and one part is attached to the covering region while the other part is attached to a corresponding opposite spot on the central section or the leg section, as the case may be. In a separate production of the individual material regions of the proposed hy~ienic pants, the respective fastening elements can be directly incorporated.
Advantageously, the ab~or~ent pad that can be put ln is formed QO
that it can ~e folded open, and is pu~ into the pants component of the sanitary pants after lt ha~ bee~ folded several times. During washing the absorbent pad 1s pulled out of the depre8sions in the pants component and unfolded, and, by vircue of its small overall thickness, can thus be advan~ageously washed and comple~ely and thorougly dried. For a better accommodation of the absorbent pad to the anatomical form of the wearer, a longer cut guide i~
advantageously used in the back region of the wearer.
wO 96~36305 ~CT/D~96/0085 Through application of a moisture-impedlng fleece layer, the moisture-absorbing and -shielding effect of the absorbent pad is additionally increased.
For further improvement of the wearing comfort, incorporaeed into different elements of the sanitary pants - e.g. the le~ sections, the covering regions, or the central ~ection - are elastic elements that completely adapt the shape of the sanitary pants to the anatomy of ~he wearer when worn. Rubber cords, ~or example, can be used as such elastic elements.
For fastening the proposed sanitary pants, the pants component b~longing thereco advant~geou~ly poqse~qes at lea~t two ~astening elements corresponding to each other, which can be formed as Velcro-fasteners, for example.
The de~cri~ed multi-sectional construction of the proposed sanitary pan~s permits ~he forming of lndividual element6 - e.g. only ehe central section or only the leg section6 - o~t of special materials, particularly, tor example, moi9ture-proof material or 8ynthetic materi~l that breathes well, and thus permits the sanitary pants to fulfill especially well certain requirements placed upon them.
In general it can be of ad~antage to form the entire s~nltary pants, thus the collective pants component aY well a~ the absorbent pad, out of macerial that is suitable for boiling. A particularly natural feel during wearing comes about when natural textiles are used, such as cotton or viscose, for example.
~he invention is explained in more detail with the aid of the implementation examples in the drawn figures They ~how:

Fig. 4 a sectional view A-A according to Fig 3.
Re~erence i9 made first to Fig. 1. The depicted pants component 5 shows a central section 1, to which on the left and right (identical) leg sections 2 are joined. Attached at the upper and lower end regions to the two leg sections 2 joined together by, for example, stitching, as well as to the central section 1, are covering regions 3, which, for example, are li~ewise attached by stitching. By this mean~ there exist dep e~sions 8 between the coverlng reglons 3 and ~he two l~g secticns 2 as well as the central Rection 1, inco which depressions, for example, the absorbent pad 4 ~not represented in Fig. 1) can be placed.
For better anatomical adaptation to the body Of the wearer, the pants component 5 is provided with el~stic elements 6 in the covering regions 3 as well a~ in the leg sections 2.
For fastening the upper and lower ends of the pants component 5, in each case correspondlng ~astening elements 7 (for example Velcro~
fasteners) are attached at the upper and lower ends.
~ e re~ion of the depressions 8, corresponding fastening elements g or 9~ are a~sched to the covcring regions 3 as well as to ~he leg sections 2 and the central section 1, by means of which fasteni~g elements a detachable connection can ~e produced between the covering reglon 3 and the leg sections 2 a9 well as the central section 1.
CA 0222l209 l997-ll-l4 N0 96~36305 PC~/DE96~0085 In Fig. l the fastenlng elements 9 are formed as snaps and the f~stening ele~ent~ 9' a~ Velcro~ fasteners Fig. 2 shows the absorbent pad 4 in a separate representation and ln the unfolded state. It ls evldent that the absorbent pad 4 shows a longer cut guide in the lower region, which serves also the adapting to the anato~ical conditions in the back region of the wearer~
Fig. 3 shows the pant~ component 5 with absorbent pad 4 placed into the depres~ions 8 between covering reg~on 3 and centr~l ~ection 1.
During washing of the sanlcary pants, the ab~orbent pad 4 is simply pulled out of the depressions 8, unfolded, and in this state washed and dried.
When inserted, the absorbent pad 4 i8 secured against slippage by means of the fastening elements 9 and 9'. In Fig. 3 the fastening elements 9 drawn in solid lines are closed, and this up to the edge region of the absorbent pad 4, while the fastening elements 9 drawn in dashed lines are opened, in orde~ tO ensure an insertion of the a~sorben~ pad 4.
The fastenlng element 9' formed as a VelcroD fastener is closed on both sides up to the edges of the absorbent p~d 4 and opened in the covering region 3 of the absorbent p~d 4. Altogether, through the partly closed and partly opened fastening elements 9 or 9~, respectively, a la~eral guide of the absorbent pad 4 adapted to the individual mea~rements of the ~bsorbent pad 4 inser~ed each time is thus achleved.
Pig, 4 shows a ~ectlon A-A according to Fig. 3 and lets the double-foided a~sorbent pad 4 ~e clearly seen, which psd i~ introduced into the depression ~ between covering region 3 and central ~eceion 1 and there held through friction. An inserted absorbent pad q of this sort ~lso contribu~es to a strengthening of the pants component 5 in the upper and lower end regions.
