Abstract

A trocar (10) for placement in the lumen of a cannula (2) to facilitate inserting the cannula through a wall (4) defining a body cavity is disclosed. The trocar has a replaceable tip portion (15) which affords continuous sharp cutting surfaces even in a completely reusable trocar.
