Interesting discussion but I'm not sure why anyone would go out of their way to argue that this pic has heavy religious/Christian significance. I see a nice, peaceful beach, where someone had a pleasant walk. Isn't that enough? I really that Doorways had something some interesting feedback.

This beautiful picture is to symbolize that the lord Jesus Christ can and will carry you in your times of need all you have to do is ask and believe in him and GOD almighty maker of heaven and earth and all things living and dead. I am proud to put my name here because I am a Jesus freak. I love my lord and savior and I worship my maker. The picture makes me think of the fossilised footprints of early homanids that were found in Africa. They found smaller prints alongside the "adult" prints and some times inside the larger footprints: just like a child playing by stepping inside its parents prints. Humanity in a footprint!

Seriously think that the idea that Jesus wanted us to have was 'Love each other' and not 'Love the Lord'. Love each other is what modern Christianity is all about for those who don't wrap themselves in flags or self righteous dogma. This also means that 'true American Christians' who 'follow the Lord' need to 'Forgive' as well as Love. So do I hear any forgiveness for the Terrorists yet?...cant hear anything...but bombshells! ahh well they almost all dead now anyway...LOL Good Luck with your Lord loving for those of you who think this is correct...bwahahaha! p.s. Nice theme, with or without the religiousness attached to it. Thanks for reading...and I love you.

The allegory of the the footprint in the sand, are the conceptual metaphor of the individual. The believer believes, God is the divine creator, and when times are difficult and trouble arises on every sides, it is God their divine creator that they'll turn to when there is nowhere to turn. But the unbeliever, unsaved or lost, are caught up in the things of self; and living for self, will always rely on self, and when there is nowhere else to go or to turn to, and self can't do anything to help self, I guess self will rollover and die? If there is no earthly help, and you've exhausted all your earthly means and avenues seeking help, what do you do, where do you go? I thank God every day, for the new day he gives me, and when there's nowhere else to turn for help, I'll turn to my God, the God of all creation and trust in him, and in my walk of life I'll walk side by side with the Lord, and when time gets to hard or difficult for me, I know he walks alone, for that's when he carries me. It's a beautiful picture.

Wait. Believing in the Lord or not believing in him is nobody else's business. I love the Lord, and this theme reminds me of it. It reminds me of that poem other people talked about. And yes, I don't think it's anybody's business but your own. I love this theme because it is a reminder to me everyday. And please don't disagree to anything I said.

This theme is but a doorway into your inner self. I find it terribly sad that some have to look to an outside "god" to find serenity. Yet if that is the path they chose, it matters little against the ultimate fact of existence. Faith is only a lazy person's way of trying to attain self knowledge. Eventually it fails one and that one will find it necessary to build a "self" based on fact, reason, and experience. May your journey to self awareness be interesting and enlightening.

This theme reminds me of a story that "H S" left. I used to love it and I will always love that story about God and how he's always there for you. I didn't see this until now. I really love the fact that God is always there and He will help you in times of trouble. I don't know if I am a bother to the people who don't really agree with me, but it's what I believe and what I'll always believe. I don't care what people say. PRAISE THE LORD!!

omg, this reminds me of my favorite scripture. its about a man walking down the beach but the beach is a metaphor for life. he looks behind him and sees two sets of footprints because god told him that he would always be with him. But sometimes the man would only see one set of footprints. The man asked God why during my hardest times i only saw one set of footprints and God said because it was then that i carried you.
