Doodle 4 GoogleAt Google Australia we're serious about providing children with a safe online environment in which to learn, play, and explore. To help, we've created some powerful tools and policies. But we need your help to be truly successful. Here's what you can do:
Use Google's SafeSearch.
Available to any user of Google.com.au,
SafeSearch screens for sites that contain
adult material and removes them from
search results. You can adjust your settings
to moderate or strict. We do our best
to keep SafeSearch as up-to-date and
comprehensive as possible, but inappropriate
sites will sometimes slip through the
cracks. If you have SafeSearch activated
and still find websites containing offensive
content in your results, please contact
us and we'll investigate it.
Flag inappropriate content on YouTube.
We're working closely with our YouTube
community to remove videos that violate
our strict guidelines including
real violence, bullying, pornography
and hate speech and the people
who post them from the site. If you come
across questionable material on YouTube,
flag it. We'll investigate. If it violates
YouTube's Terms of Use, it will be removed
and the account of the person who posted
it will either be suspended or terminated.
Educate yourself and your kids.
Of course, talking to your kids and spending
time with them as they're searching the
web are the most effective ways to keep
them safe online. We support government
and school campaigns that educate parents
on how to make their kids Internet experiences
safer. Ask your local officials or school
administrators how you can participate.
