Diversity and students

Google has long recognized the importance of investing in education. We aspire to help level the playing field by empowering all students to be active creators of tomorrow’s technology. We offer programs that support students at all levels of education, from middle school to high school, to undergraduate and graduate studies.

Google's programs and initiatives for students in all stages of study

K-12 and pre-university education outreach

Google is committed to opening access to technology education and closing the digital divide. To increase diversity in technology education, we support initiatives like the LEAD Program in Engineering and provide funding for non-profits through the Google RISE Awards.

Programs for university students

Google provides opportunities for underrepresented students at the university level to explore careers at a technology company and in computer science. Programs like the Google BOLD Internship, the Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI) and FUSE retreats provide access to technology careers.

Global scholarships and awards

Google has awarded over $8.8 million in scholarships to 2,100 students around the world. With organizations like the Anita Borg Institute and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) we support women and minorities around the world in their pursuit of technology education.
